I usually use Recollections from Michaels. I recently heard of Paper Accents (used by Kathy Orta). PA is a lot more expensive. I'm wondering if it is worth it.
Anyone know? What brand do you use for making mini albums?

I use recollections also and I have no complaints. I have used american crafts and bazzill a few times when I wanted a particular color and they were fine too. I do not like coordinations brand.

I try to use 80# cardstock for mini albums. I like them to be a bit more sturdy. I don't worry about it as much if there are a lot of paper layers using good quality paper, but if it's a more simple mini I think heavier cardstock helps. Something like Bazzill. I've seen some 110# Recollections cardstock at Michael's that I want to try. It feels very sturdy.

I buy my cardstock for minis at Staples you can usually only buy white and cream, but they sell in large boxes fairly inexpensively and you can get different weights of paper. It's only 8 1/2 x 11 but it's great paper. I sell my mini's and I really need something that will be sturdy and last, but be economical as well. I bought recollections paper recently in kraft because it matched the paper I was using, but the sheets weren't cut straight. It made for making my album a little more difficult, but I worked it out.

Thanks for the info. I usually use black cardstock for mini albums and I have recently sold a few. Yay! I've never had a problem with recollections for my personal albums, but I was concerned about the sturdiness of the binding and page flaps for ones I sell.

I make tons of mini albums so it's Bazzill for me. Other textured card stocks crack when creased. For smooth card stock, I will choose the heavier weight regardless of brand.

It depends on the type of album. If you're making a hinge, the best is HL brand- the textured kind. Bazzill is too bulky and any type of smooth doesn't fold well. I use it for my base pages, too. If you're punching holes and using a ring binder, I would use a sturdier one like Bazzill. I've made many- trust me!

I've found the opposite to be true. For me the textured cardstock always cracks when I try to fold it as a hinge. I have better luck with smooth.
