Say something happened and you had to stay home for 7-14 days. You can go outside for exercise, but you can’t get in a vehicle and go somewhere. You have enough food and water. There is electricity, but no internet. What would you do during that time? Would you find things to do? Would you embrace the experience or hate every minute of it?
I think I would enjoy it. I may get bored towards the end, but I have enough to fill up two weeks. I would go for walks, clean the house, read, do crafts, watch dvd’s, play video games, etc. and of course, SO would be here. lol! Now, he might get antsy after 4-5 days.
ETA - This is not COVID related. Just a thought I had, and if I would like to be cut off from the world for 1-2 weeks. And NO internet.

Absolutely! I walk everyday already. I would continue that, enjoy our land by sitting out there and reading a book, cross stitch, etc. Today I even chased goats that got into our "dog park." Never a dull moment here. I would love it!

I get to go to medical appointments and that’s my week. It hurts to walk the dogs. BFF has time on her hands so she and I talk a lot.

As long as I could talk to my family, I would be good. I would clean, sew, organize stuff, go through boxes, play with the animals, read, catch up on house fixes and chores. With no internet, it should be a pretty productive time for me. Hahaha! Oh, wait! I would NAP too! LOL

I'm the world's introvertiest introvert. It would not be much of a problem for me. As long as the weather was nice enough to go for walks. ETA DH would go nuts. The first few months of COVID when we had SAH orders and he couldn't even work (he's a builder) drove him nuts. I would be working from the couch while he walked. Then after I was done working, we walked some more. He might even have taken a third walk at times. The man was losing it. ETA 2- Duh, I missed the no internet part with my speed reading. That would definitely make it harder. I could do it but definitely tougher. Do we have enough notice to download books, movies etc?

There is a room Full of fabric for quilting, sewing and crafts. Two weeks might make a small dent in it! Where can I sign up for this program?

If I’m being honest I’d get pretty bored, especially at night, with no internet. I could stay home *with internet* for months on end without leaving but the older I get the more hermit like I become. I use the internet to watch YouTube tutorials for doing crafts and sewing projects so those kinds of things go hand in hand for me.

NO internet?? just shoot me now. that means no streaming services but at least i'd have the basic rabbit-ears channels to watch.
i mean, i guess i could survive. lord knows i have enough SB supplies to busy me for a lifetime. i guess i could garden or do a lot of baking. if worse, comes to worst, i guess i could exercise.

I'm an introvert - I'll be fine. I'll miss checking in here but...otherwise, sounds like plenty of scrapping and reading time

Have mercy, I feel old. This was my childhood. Pre-internet. One TV. Party line telephone. On weekends and summer breaks - My parents owned a rustic lake cottage. Electricity, but no phone or TV. Indoor plumbing, but no shower or hot water. I’m an introvert. It was heaven.
My DH and his brother used to go fishing in Canada. Drive up to Hornepayne,Ontario then take a floatplane to a remote fishing camp that had electricity, but no internet, cellphone, tv, radio. They’d stay for 10/11 days. He loved it.

I definitely could, better than a lot of people, but no internet is hard. I was without for 3 days recently and it’s interesting how dependent I am on it. Even down to adjusting my thermostat and lights…I had to actually get up off the couch 😀 My security cameras don’t work without internet either.
If I had time to prepare I would do better, like a trip to the library and the paint store so I could tackle some projects I’ve been meaning to get to.

I have enough scrapbooking supplies, books and DVDs that I think I could do it. I would miss mindless scrolling through social media and other online platforms though. The hardest part would be most of my recipes are on Pinterest!!! I'd run out of ideas of things I can make without finding the recipe online...although I do have a bunch of old recipe books...but those don't come with reviews!

For sure. Being a mom to a medically complex child teaches you how to handle being home.
I would go on walks and there is a park with nature trails across the street.
Walk the dogs.
Play with the dogs.
Play board games.
Read.
Bake.
Try new recipes from my cookbooks.
Is watching TV okay? If not, we have a good DVD/BluRay collection.
Draw/paint.
Scrapbook.
Make cards.
Color with my alcohol markers.
ETA: swim in the pool if the weather is good. And play billiards at the rec room.

Yes! I do like streaming shows, but I could get by without it. I'd miss my online game but my character would still be there when I got back to her.
Off-hand.... read, walk, nap, organize, read, clean, walk again, read again... Sounds heavenly to me.

No internet would be hard. I have DVDs but I need noise to sleep so I stream stuff. I also have gotten into listening to audio books from the library vs reading them. I don’t know if I need to be connected to the internet or if they are already downloaded to my phone.
I would also miss not being able to get any news. We can’t get tv channels over the air too many mountains in the way. I also really like to spend time here snd sone FB groups. I use them for inspiration. I also communicate with my best friend through messenger. She runs a day care so we can message and she reads it when she gets a break. Phone calls wouldn’t work. I would feel really cut off without Internet.
Being stuck in the house for two weeks was easy during Covid but we had internet for most of that time. We lost it for about 5 days and that wasn’t fun. We did have our phones though so could do some things.
ETA I forgot we have cable. When we lost internet for those days during Covid our cable, landline and internet was down. I was thinking all if these would be down. With cable so I could have background noise I think I would be fine. I would miss it but not as bad as without it. Not messaging my friend would be the hardest. We have gotten rid of all of our CDs and can’t get a radio station here so stream music too.

OMG - when Covid first it he would stand out by our mailbox just waiting for people to walk or drive by so he could talk to them. He's a total chatterbox and hated not being able to talk to everyone in his office.

I could do it easily. when I was young, I sat in a firelook for 8 weeks.. hauled water and food and books and clothes and radio and binoculars up the trail. and had no phone, nothing.. but the view, my thoughts and the 5 or so books I could bring. I got by on 5 gallons of water a week.
even now, I can be happy without internet for days.. self entertaining.

Absolutely, I am a homebody these days. Actually, it is not at all uncommon for me to go that long without getting in the car. I read, work on house, craft, research, read some more. I read 276 books on my Kindle app last year. Not having the internet would be a bit of an issue, I don’t watch news or anything on TV, so it would drive me crazy to be that disconnected from the world. Oh, and if it was baseball season? No way.

I don't know I could manage. I get all of my books online through the library, all of my tv is streaming. The weather here is still not great so walks outside are out. If I had internet and delivery available, I could be home for a long time lol. I wfh 50% and I don't leave my house for days except for the gym.
