I am having a crappy day with my PM 400. First it didn't want to accept a new ink cartridge, and I was able to solve that. Now, my photos are not the correct color. Ok, I know it probably needs a nozzle cleaning. So I run that.
When the nozzle cleaning prints out, I have red and blue lines. And they are all the way the should be, with no spaces. BUT I have no yellow lines. Shouldn't I have yellow lines? I have run the printer nozzle cleaner function, and nothing changes.
I have also run the head cleaning several times. Nothing changes.
So am I wrong thinking there should be red, blue and yellow lines? I dont know what else to do. Even after the nozzle cleaning several times, the color of my photos is off.

Sometimes reseating (removing & re-inserting) the ink cartridges helps. Have you tried that yet?

Do you have another cartridge you could put in to see i the problem is with the cartridge? Or maybe your old one?
I wonder if something went wrong with your ink cartridge when it wouldn't fit in correctly. If yes, I'd contact Epson for a replacement.

Did all of the protective film come off? Anything blocking where the ink comes out from the cartridge?

mom was tech support able to help you? Absolutely no help. The CS agent I talked to couldn't even find the code that I had showing to tell me what to do.

What's the code you're getting?

What's the code you're getting? It says it can’t recognize the ink cartridge. I’ve bought all new cartridges (all from epson) and nothing works. I think I got a faulty machine - I’ve only had it 6 months. I got the ink cartridge to be recognized once - after leaving it unplugged overnight. But then the it was printing streaky so I cleaned the heads and then it quit working again. This is my second epson pm-400 and it’s been moody for the 6 months I’ve had it. My other one was a champ.

mom - ugh, that is so frustrating. And even more frustrating that support wasn't able to help. They should have escalated the issue and replaced your machine. If you feel like calling again, I'd ask for a replacement machine if they can't get it fixed.

Their initial response is really unacceptable. Sorry the machine is still being stupid.
