What is your preferred method - stamp then stencil or stencil then stamp? I drive myself crazy because I am a perfectionist. Any tips are appreciated!

If it’s an outline stamp image, I’m typically a stamp first then stencil person.

I'm also a stamp first, then stencil person.

I usually stamp then stencil, but some inks can smear even when they seem to be dry, and some inks dull the color of the stamping, so if I remember to set it up in my platform properly I like to stamp, stencil, and then re-stamp. But I also accept that there are manufacturing tolerances and some stamps and stencils just won't line up perfectly (and no one but me will probably notice).

Sometimes I stamp in a light color, like grey, just so I can see the lines to use the stencils. Then after stenciling, I stamp in black, so the lines are crisp. Leave the stamp in your platform so you stamp in the right place.
Using Oxide inks for stenciling will dull the lines, especially if they’re embossed. I try to wipe after using oxides but don’t always remember!

Any tips for getting alignment perfect? Or as joblackford says, just accept the fact that things might not line up perfectly?
