Total long shot, I know. I have this "awesome" printer that my husband bought me and the %#+*'ing thing gives me fits all the time. The colors are crap and it is always out of ink. Just curious if anyone else has this printer with the same issues. I've called the company and tried to troubleshoot, but nothing is making the damn thing better. I am ready to chuck it out the window. PS. By awesome, I mean expensive and a complete piece of sh*t. Just so we are clear.

Ohhh that's such a shame, that should be a tremendous high quality printer, I've had mine several years and it prints beautifully. My only complaint is it's huge size on your desk! Did the print head get damaged? I hope you can get it working right as the quality is spectacular, that's why so many professionals use it.

Seriously? It has been a problem since I have had it. The colors are off and the ink runs out so quickly. I've called the company but have had no luck getting it fixed. It is just so frustrating. I use Canon paper and have switched around from glossy to matte to the higher priced papers and nothing seems to help. What paper do you use?

I used that printer in college and I absolutely loved it. When you are printing are you going through Photoshop or some other type of program? Always turn OFF Printer Manages Color and click Photoshop Manages Color or whatever program you are running. Just doing trouble shooting. I don't want you to think that I think your dumb but make sure the right type of paper is selected in the printer dialog box when you go to print. That is HUGE!!! I cannot tell you how off your colors will be if not. I always used Epson paper. Glossy and Lustre. I like their papers the best but their printers suck! I seriously love Canon's and I am saddened you are having problems. Feel free to PM me if you want to.

I will try that later today, Ametallchick. Thanks for the response. I should try a new paper, also. It is just so frustrating to have this $800 paperweight sitting on my desk. I usually print straight from PSE but will sometimes print from iPhoto. I do check the paper options to make sure that the printer is recognizing the correct paper. No worries about thinking I am dumb. Sometimes it is the most obvious that I overlook so if you have other trouble shooting advice, I will gladly hear it.

:yourock:I don't want to get too excited, but I turned on PSE manages color and it looked really good. If the fix was that easy, I am going to be over the moon! I am going to print out a few more pictures and see what they look like. So happy!!! Thanks so much for helping. You might have saved my printer from the trash heap. I'm a little irritated that the help desk at Canon NEVER thought to check the color manager. I have been fighting with this printer for 3 years, and the fix was checking one little box.
