Rarely. I've been scrapping since 1995. It has to be a VERY unique line for me to want to buy right away.

I went for "always" because collections are hard to get if you don't buy them quickly after they are released. I don't want to buy them all, of course, but companies know the now or never mindset will ensure FOMO.

Years ago when I’d go to crops at my LSS I was more prone to FOMO. There would be conversations about trending items and techniques so of course I’d want those too.
Now I’ll only buy or try new things if I really like them. But there’s still FOMO occasionally. Like some of you said I’m sometimes afraid if I wait to buy something it will sell out and I’ll never get it. Or if there’s a great sale I’ll cave and buy a few things I’ve been wanting before the free shipping or 10% off goes away.

My FOMO moment is 49 and Market.. I just discovered it (I haven't been scrapping in quite a while) and now I feel I need to buy it ALLLL... but holding back....

I do feel this way more so with current releases. Once it’s gone it’s gone and so I do grab right away what I really like. I also feel that the hobby is losing steam so I want to have enough in my stash that I can keep going as long as I want to or at least finish my kids books through high school

Thanks for your participation in the poll & responses. Although the industry promotes FOMO (e.g. Inked has become an empire based on it), I personally don't experience it. Supplies are often not reordered/restocked due to the frequency of new releases, yet it's a "copycat" industry where multiple manufacturers will jump on the bandwagon & sell their versions of popular/successful themes/color schemes/icons/etc.

Always have fomo - can’t buy so many collections and from so many sites due to never getting free postage and/or postage costs being so ridiculous that it’s not worth placing an order in the first place. $60 postage for one Kelly purkey/paper person kit meant I never got to get any of the collections I loved so much as I just can’t justify that. Have had to curtail orders from citrus twist due to the postage costs which is awful as I love their stuff. Most manufacturers have items that relate to events that I am not a part of as I am living in another country - 4th July is a USA only holiday but so many items centre on it for July. In a way though I think it’s good as it means I really have to like something to get it, but all the money I’ve wasted on postage over the years would just be so scary to calculate… Absolutely this- postage from US to Australia from most sites runs at $20-30 which is often more than the product

Not anymore. I used to big time I’d say from 2004-2013. Back when you had to subscribe to get a studio calico kit and things sold out fast in the shops. I wanted to go to a CKU so bad (which I had actually forgot about until I saw it mentioned on another post here). People were always talking about them online. And the whole design team and CK Hof Fame frenzies. Looking back all I can think is ugh. I got so burnt out.
But I still scrapbook if not as obsessively and enjoy it more.

I put sometimes. I get FOMO in two ways. The first is events that I have access to: Maker Mania, Crop and Create Delivered. The other is companies in the US that don’t ship to Canada or have very high international shipping.

I feel like I don't buy many of the lines that others love. I do like a few companies that are quite popular, but if it is pink and flowery, I have no FOMO. I will watch a few YouTubers who use papers that I end up loving and will go a little FOFMO on them, but usually not. I do like a hot pink though.
