I use plain cardstock along with patterned paper on most of my LO's. Usually as a base for the page or if I matte a photo.

Occasionally. However, when I look back to some of my earlier albums--say late 90s, very early 2000s, I see that at that time I used primarily actual cardstock.
Now I use it mostly as a card base, or if I need a mat, and I don't have a "solid" pattered paper in the right color.
