I purchased some 12 x 12 file folders and then was too busy to get them set up. I had an old cropper hopper plastic box that I thought they would fit in. Well, they don't. I can't find anything that will hold these larger file folders. I really, really want to use them to store my 12x12 papers. I also don't want to spent $200+ for a drawer. I thought I saw a post elsewhere where someone's husband made a frame with some wood and a couple of metal things. Of course now I can't find that post. Anyone?

Several years ago I had several 12x12 folders and I stored them in a rolling file frame that I bought from Office Depot. It held both letter & legal sized folders. You just turned it one way for the letter and the opposite for legal. I don't know if they still have something like that but I'll look and post if I can find a picture.

It was similar to this but not as wide as it only held letter OR legal depending on which "side" you used. If you used the width side, you could store letter and if you used the length side, you could store legal (which held the 12x12 folders that I had.)

Think it was about $30 years and years ago. I still have it but use it only for random storage now. And........ I had forgotten I put some cash in one of the folders. About 5 years later I found a nice chunk of cash! Like more than $500. Who does that? LOL. ETA: These are the dimensions of mine, so not too much space needed. 19-1/2 in. X 15-1/2 in. X 13-7/8 in. Since the files are 12 inches there is not not too much space between the bottom of the file and the bottom tier. It is quite compact and fits under one of my tables. It is like the Safeco one posted above from Amazon.

The Container Store has a legal file cart. Mine is a bazillion years old but still works for my 12 x 12 paper.

I have my cardstock in file folders in this, have had it since around the time we got married in 1995. The rest of my 12 x 12 is the clear plastic snap close envelopes in a few different kinds of bins. eta: This one in black. And then only 1 drawer in the bottom slide because the folders hang so much lower than the regular legal size folders. It’s 20% off right now.

If you search “file folder hanging rails” it looks like there are all kinds of replacement bars for hanging file folders that you could attach to a wooden frame.

I have a stacking cube thing that holds 12x12 hanging files.. probably from Michaels or Hobby Lobby.. it's old so they probably don't have them anymore. There were all kinds of different configurations.

The others have given you some good ideas. Just know that a full drawer of 12 x 12 paper will be incredibly heavy. You will want any drawer to be on heavy duty glides.
