Then there’s this BS. Of course, the IDF’s own preliminary investigation of themselves just hours after the attack shows the WCK wasn’t targeted. In spite of the clearly marked vehicles. In spite of coordinating their movements with IDF beforehand. Sure. 🙄 I saw reports that people from the first vehicle alerted their IDF contact that they were being attacked to tell them to stop. I haven’t seen this substantiated yet, but if it proves to be true then how can IDF continue to claim they didn’t target WCK? The US needs to stop funding Israel. www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel-at-war/artc-idf-chief-addresses-airstrike-killing-aid-workers-in-gaza-as-misidentification

I have heard so many lies from IDF spokesmen over the last several months. Just last week a spokesman adamantly said that there was no humanitarian crisis and that there was no way people in Gaza are starving because they are sending in the equivalent of several times more calories per person than they did even before October 7. That person is either lying through his teeth or very clueless about what is actually happening. Probably both. I’m also starting to wonder if our own government sees all of the news that “we” who are well-informed on social media and other news outlets see. I thought Biden wad finally getting to the point where he was ready actually hold Israel accountable and cut off some funding, but it doesn’t appear that’s the case. I don’t want to hear him say how outraged he is at what has happened and then turn around and continue to give money and weapons to Israel to use how they want. It is the wrong thing to do—for Palestinians and for us. Israel’s actions and our support for it is putting us at more risk for being engaged in a broader war and for potential terrorist attacks. Not to mention what could happen in the election. Unlike the rest of us, the administration actually has some action they can take to make this stop. I hope that they do indeed take that action. ETA that I personally don't think anyone has leverage with Netanyahu. He is too invested in continuing the war as it is going and seems to gain clout by thumbing his nose at Biden. But I do think that Biden can make a difference by changing his position regarding giving/selling weapons to Israel. Sell them what they need for the iron dome but nothing more, IMO. At the very least we need to stop being complicit in what is happening.

It really is heartbreaking to see all that has happened in that region. And I admit that I have so much to learn. A lot of times I just listen (or in this case read). But there is no question that this war has gone way too far. Intentionally attacking schools, hospitals, starving people, blowing up peaceful people who are trying to provide aid. There will never be peace there. Never. There is an entire generation being radicalized by this.

Steven Colbert did a great job highlighting the attack on WCK last night: link
