They’re building one in Luling, Tx that will be larger. Great restrooms, a large section of kitschy stuff for sale. I do like the locally made items they have, and the little bit of the fresh food I’ve had is good. It’s a good place to stop when you really want to stretch your legs and be out of the car for a while. But having been there before I wouldn’t wait in a line to get gas there or go in. Oh are they replacing the current one in Luling? It’s in a new location but will replace the current one once open. knue.com/title-worlds-largest-buc-ees-texas/

they opened one about 3 hours away from me in December. I desperately want to go, but haven't been able to justify driving 3 hours just to go to a gas station. It may come to pass that I can make it out there at the end of this month. I'm stupidly excited.

We don't have Buc-ees up here--is 100 gas pumps hyperbole or real? I can't even imagine. We currently have 2 in Georgia, one about 2 hours south of me and another about 90 minutes north. The one in northern GA is near the Tennessee border on a very busy major interstate. It has 120 gas pumps. I was up that way about a week ago & stopped to get gas & use the bathroom (they also have 80 bathroom stalls & they are always clean & quick to get in/out). While there, I noticed they are adding even more pumps! Not sure how many but more are on the way. My sister says Buc-ees is like if Walmart & Cracker Barrell had a baby. As far as leaving your car at the pump, I don’t see people doing that at Buc-ee’s (although some might), because most people go inside for more than a few minutes & there are plenty of parking spaces. I have done that at a local gas station because it only has 2 parking spots, but then again, there isn’t anyone waiting to use the pump behind me at this local gas station. It is super rude to leave your car at the pump when not using it when there are others that need it.

I love Buc-ees. We are in Texas and I have never heard of people leaving their car at the pump.

Live in Texas and have never been in a Buckee's. When I go to the Houston area to visit family, I pass a Buckee's but when I pass it I don't need gas yet. There is one about 30 miles north of me, but have not stopped at it.
I think it is extremely rude to tie up a gas pump and go inside to shop.
Side story: years ago, before pay-at-the-pump, I stopped to get gas at a small station. I was perhaps the only white person in the area. There were several cars trying to get gas, so I pumped my gas and pulled up to the front of the station, to clear the pump for others. I parked and as I went inside, the clerk was saying ugly things about me because he thought I was leaving without paying. He was a bit chagrined when he turned and I was there waiting to pay. I didn't acknowledge I had heard him.

The owner of Buc-ee's donates a lot of money to Greg Abbott and friends. It's not a place I like to spend money.
That said, I do get the appeal for road trips/bathrooms. The last time we stopped, there were no Coke products at the soda fountain or the icee machine. I was looking forward to my rare treat of fountain Coke and was stuck with "Beaver Cola." Blech.

I have probably stopped at at least 30 different buccees here in Texas and it’s really rare, like almost never have I seen anyone leave their car parked at the pump! It’s rude and mean behavior! Service is quick at lightning speed in buccees. Parking is never an issue as car are leaving as quick as they arrive. You don’t have to be the jackass that makes it difficult to get the gas! And buccees is usually cheaper for gas than most places. And don’t forget to get your pulled pork or brisket sandwich and ginormous drink before you leave the store!

It’s right behind the current one. Even though we have one in our town, the one in Luling is the one we stop at most on our way to Port Aransas. Also the one on the way to Galveston. We’re big Bucees fans, always move the car when we’re done getting gas and would never leave it unattended while pumping. The clean restrooms alone are worth the stop and we like the food.

It’s ok to leave your car long enough to run in to pay and/or to grab a soda on the way to the cashier. The only scenario where I would leave it longer is at a truly empty station — there is one by the soccer field where my kids often practice, and, since I am always the only car there for their six available pumps, I don’t move the car if we’re taking longer.

We have a lot of Buc-ee's around us including one of the really small locations. It doesn't have the hot food or other things they are known for but they do have great fresh iced tea and bags of ice that are cheap. I was just telling my husband that I'm glad we have a small location close so we don't have to deal with the crowds like the other locations have. Buc-ee's also always have plenty of workers that you don't have to wait long to check out if at all and the best bathrooms around. I love the locations where they have the red and green lights above each door letting you know if it's in use or not.

We have a Buc-cees about 40 minutes from my house and it's one of the newer ones. I usually stop there for gas on the way to Winstar but I never thought about leaving my car at a pump while I went in. Even though there may be well over 100 pumps, they are very busy.

Seemed appropriate for this thread: (Also, that’s the Buccees where I walked away and had a tank of gas stolen. Obviously karma.)

I only go to Buccees while traveling if we come across one when we are ready to stretch our legs. Even if I lived where there was a Buccees, it would still be a travel destination, not a regular stop - its too busy and not fast. The last one we went to seemed like it had more pumps than parking spots, but we pulled into a spot anyway since we were going to be a little while.

We have one in our area but we hardly ever go there. The ones we use on the regular are while traveling. The one in our town is on I-35 and is crazy busy most of the time and it's out of the way for us. The only time I ever go to the one here is if I leave my mom's and it's not too busy.

I'd have to drive to the outskirts of town to get to one, but I do want to go to the Katy one to drive through their car wash which is supposedly the longest car wash in the world. I expect to not have a droplet of water when I exit!
I do end up hitting up the one on the east side of town every couple of months when I have to drive past there for work. Gotta get my breakfast taco and my bucket of Diet Coke for the road!

The first time I was amazed because I did not know anything about them. They have replaced Sheetz as my favorite.

what a great video! I think it would be so interesting to travel in a van like that but DH and I would kill each other inside of a week.

I am heading to MD in May. Buc-cee's is on my way in TN. It should pop up about the time I need to stop and get gas so I am hoping for a stop to be made.
