Turkey season starts in 6 days. While we cleaned out flower beds, 4 Toms as well as 24 hens and jakes (juvenile male turkeys) just strutted around scrounging up the bird food from a fallen feeder. They hung out a few hours. These are suburb turkeys who don't have to worry. The Stand off by Nancy Tim, on Flickr Tom friends by Nancy Tim, on Flickr Tom butts by Nancy Tim, on Flickr

Ha! We kicked up a flock out with the dogs on our hike around the property. They didn't fly far.

Great photos! There is a farm field by my grandson's school that often had turkeys in it over the winter. One day there must have been 50!

Great photos! My turkeys are camera shy and kinda mean. The ladies are pretty bold. If you sit still, they will come right up if they think there is something to eat or drink. We have several feeders and five bird baths. The Toms tend to watch and see if the ladies survive the encounter before they strut up.

Great photos!
We have a flock we see in a local park. It’s always fun to come across them!
