Many public libraries are gathering them to send to an organization that gives them to other places for use when the eclipse comes around.

I noticed that our glasses have a fairly near expiration date, so I love the idea of people getting to squeeze another use out of them before they need to be discarded.

My local NBC station said yesterday that they had a link on their website as to where to take them. I got mine at the library, so it makes sense to take mine there.

I had NO IDEA the glasses had an expiration date!
Seems the ones I used yesterday were expired! Neither of us seem to have a problem with vision today, so I presume we are ok.

They expire? I used ours from 2017. They went into a baggie and into the junk drawer. I used them this past fall too.

They expire? I used ours from 2017. They went into a baggie and into the junk drawer. I used them this past fall too. Same for me. After I read this thread, I looked at what we had used. Opps, says expire after 3 years. I do think that is a CYA message. The glasses seemed to protect our eyes, and so far, I am not experiencing any vision problems. I did toss them, but there is not a solar eclipse scheduled in my area until after I am dead, so........
