Good morning.
I think the baseball game knocked me out a bit. I was toast yesterday. Still, I made dh panko af chicken for dinner. I feel better today and need to start packing up a wall unit in preparation for dh to pain and do the vinyl plank flooring in my living room. Apart from that, I will play a bit in my scraproom.
Dinner is tarragon chicken that I was gonna make last night. I'll serve it w/wild rice and dh wants a salad.
What's on your menu?
This weekend will be dedicated to trying to have some fun while packing up the wall unit and doing some clearing in the living room. Can't wait to see the renovations. We'll enjoy time, as well, but not sure what we're gonna do.
What is everyone up to this weekend?
May this be a relaxing, fun, abundant weekend for all!

scrapmaven…I was in your shoes not long ago! It will be worth all of the disruption to your life when it’s done! I was out early for a doctor appointment and my car had an oil change scheduled. I’m still at the dealership while they do a couple more things, of course. The car has 26K miles so I suppose maintenance is expected. Dinner is pork chops. I was hoping DS would grill them but it’s raining hard. There are tiny potatoes to roast as well as green beans, asparagus and corn on the cob to choose from for veggies.

I went out for a long walk today, which was nice and I felt better afterwards. Dinner tonight is classic Bavarian spring food - grilled salmon, baby potatoes and asparagus. Our weather is very springlike today, but by Monday it’s going to be cold and wet again.
Not sure about the weekend. I have the last of my First Communion classes on Sunday, then we have a couple of weeks break before the big day on May 5th. We’ll probably watch football tomorrow, even though our team is pretty much out of the running for the title this year after 2 bad games the past two weeks. Maybe I’ll get some crafting done as well.

Your updates are coming along scrapmaven. You must be so excited. I’m currently at my hair appointment. Before this I had a Lowe’s pickup, target returns, garden store, and a cvs pickup. Ordered paint for the basement doors at the lake. We just want to knock that out before summer. But my goodness paint has gotten so expensive. Finishing is all dependent on my back. Dinner should be grilled steaks with salad & veggies. Unless our friends up there are in town and want to go to the neighborhood bar. Happy weekend!

cadoodlebug I hope you have a better night. I took regular extra strength Tylenol last night and it helped. jeremysgirl I ordered a sleep mask. Thanks for the suggestion. I have informed delivery and saw there was correspondence from my chiropractor coming. I'm already feeling stress as the bookkeeper is a nightmare. She sends me a lump sum billing last October with no detail, doesn't apply insurance adjustments, doesn't provide them more info when asked etc. I had them fax her all EOBS in October. No response. Sent her a detailed letter bringing my $800 balance down to $24 in January attaching all my EOB's. Have called multiple times. I'm dreading what I will find. I can already tell she never resubmitted one claim. Today I will take a friend out to eat for her birthday. DH will have rechauffe.

I have some creamy lobster pasta in the fridge that I brought home from a restaurant the other day. I know it will kill my insides, but it looks so good. Need to decide what’s really more important. 😊 Either way, it needs to go today. ETA Marina: I would send her a check for the $24 and call it good.

Marina , do make sure that you tell your chiropractor about her billing person. If billing is wonky a Dr. or Chiropractor can potentially lose their license or pay a hefty fine. Your chiro will want to know if she doesn't already. Also, she is going to lost patients, who won't put up w/the bad billing practices. It just sucks that you have to go through this on top of being in pain.
KelleeM, I thought of you when we were selecting our furniture. We're going to renovate a lot of stuff over the next two years, but we're starting w/the living room and all windows.
cadoodlebug, I hope that your nap is restorative and that you feel better.
teddyw, have fun tonight if you go the bar. If not, enjoy a nice night at home w/a yummy dinner.

Happy Friday... finally!
I've got a pretty slow day at work and I'm just not feeling it today so I plan on doing some laundry and picking up the house as I never really did it when I got home from my trip.
My mom is really out of it because she took a pain pill for her arm. She is in kidney failure and the drugs take a long time to process through her body. We told her no more pain pills! She has to manage her diabetes pump on her own and she can't think straight when she's on the pain pills. It's just not a good scenario.
I have some hamburger to use up so I'm probably making sloppy joes and ordering food in for my parents if they don't want to come over. I really just need a quiet night so I'll see if they'll let me order in for them.
Hope you all have a great day!

lucyg already did. scrapmaven it's his wife. And she doesn't know how to access electronic correspondence from the insurance company. We'll see what this brings. But since she didn't return one previous call nor does monthly billings I'm not optimistic. Tearisci I'm so sorry for your mom.

I'm glad you rested yesterday and feel more energetic today. Enjoy playing in your scraproom! jeremysgirl I ordered a sleep mask. Thanks for the suggestion. You are welcome. I swear I can't sleep without it anymore. It's nice having my eyes covered and be able to listen on bluetooth as I drift off to sleep. I have some creamy lobster pasta in the fridge that I brought home from a restaurant the other day. I know it will kill my insides, but it looks so good. Need to decide what’s really more important. 😊 Either way, it needs to go today. Bring it to my house because this sounds good and I really do not want to cook. And...I haven't cooked at all this week. I don't know what's gotten into me but nothing, I mean, nothing I bought at the store sounded good when push came to shove to cook it. I seriously ate chicken Mcnuggets and fries for dinner last night. It was truly gourmet, I know. But I guess I was craving all the salt. I could have Jeremy stop at the store for something else to cook tonight other than the ingredients I already have for my vegan meals. I'm just saying I wouldn't feel bad eating a big pot full of cheddar broccoli soup. With some homemade pretzel sticks. Cheese. Glorious cheese is something the vegan meals just can't seem to replace. I may actually take the rest of the afternoon off. I got my Friday work done and then I also did all the work I had planned for Monday. I was up at 4:30 this morning. So I logged in at 6 today. I've been a busy bee.

Glad you had a good rest scrapmavenjeremysgirl - I really haven't cooked in a long time. SO cooked last Sunday and otherwise we have ate out or did rechauffe or had a sandwich. And tonight won't be a cooking night either. Tomorrow we are getting together with the cousins to play games. I am looking forward to it. We will have homemade pizzas, snack, desserts, and some cocktails. Monday the shower should be ready to pick up so next weekend we will start on the bathroom. That was the one item we needed first so we can set the base and go from there. Marina - what a mess. and how frustrating! Hoping the mail is just a statement that says you have a zero balance! Tearisci - hope your mom recovers quickly from the pain meds and you get a quite night.

TGIF! Tonight will be the last night for roast and potatoes.
I am leaving work a little early today because I need to go to Enterprise. Insurance is only paying for our rental through Sunday (which is also when my temporary parking pass for our complex expires), but both Enterprise and the office are closed on Sundays. I am still holding out hope that the car place will call before I head out and tell me that little 'ru is ready for pick up. When I called the other day, it sounded like they only had to do some paint on it, so maybe I'll still get the call today.
I'll also get groceries when I'm out because I think we are going to venture up to Harper's Ferry for a few hours tomorrow.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Tearisci , I'm sorry about your mom's health problems. Would a part-time caregiver be helpful for you and your siblings? If you want a quiet night in then take it. jeremysgirl , you can have whatever you want for dinner. Broccoli cheddar soup sounds so yummy w/pretzel sticks. OMG. scrappert , your day sounds like so much fun, tmw. It's good that you have something to look fwd to doing.

Tearisci , I'm sorry about your mom's health problems. Would a part-time caregiver be helpful for you and your siblings? If you want a quiet night in then take it. I think we might be getting to that point. We're trying to keep them as independent living as possible but it's getting tougher. Most of the bulk falls on my sister because she's a natural caretaker but we all do what we can to help. I try to have them over a lot so that they don't have to cook but I'm starting to feel burnt out and after my mom's last fall, my dad is threatening to move her to a home. He's not a good caretaker and stresses out really easily. It's just a tough situation right now.

jeremysgirl - I really haven't cooked in a long time. SO cooked last Sunday and otherwise we have ate out or did rechauffe or had a sandwich. And tonight won't be a cooking night either. You crack me up. And you know, I know deep in my heart that Jeremy truly does not care if I don't feel like cooking, however, something inside of me feels terribly guilty about it. Like I'm not doing my wifely duties. jeremysgirl , you can have whatever you want for dinner. Broccoli cheddar soup sounds so yummy w/pretzel sticks. OMG. I just had a mini meltdown after viewing a vacation photo in my memories on Facebook. So I decided what the hell, I'll make broccoli cheddar soup with pretzel sticks. Bring on the cheese! I sent a grocery list to Jeremy. He's totally on board with this plan.

I can make some things in the slow cooker or Instant Pot, but I usually ask that he make some things. I'm happy to help with prep and clean up after, but I like it when he cooks. He made waffles this morning and put some berries on them. I think I will make a quiche for us on Sunday.

jeremysgirl, ((((HUGS)))). I'm thinking of you. Tearisci, as I've mentioned on this thread they have some great independent living commmunities now. Would your parents be into retirement living? Mil's was like a resort, but she had extra care, too. Some people just lived there for the amenities, while others needed help. They had field trips to go wine tasting and other places. There was a wine and beer bar for happy hour and lots of fun stuff to do. We used to see couples there. Would it be a consideration?

I have been awake since 4:30 and out of the house since 6:30. I had to pick up the brother-in-law and take him to the hospital for a procedure this morning. I got to the office at 11:00 and I am just about finished with my work for the day. Dinner is either going to be out or shepherd's pie. I would love to eat at home as long as I don't have to cook it!

Happy Friday!
My daughter has her first flag football game of the season tonight, then we are going back home for homemade mini bagel pizzas. Technically, I'm not cooking since the kids will make their own and my oldest daughter will make extra pizzas for my husband and me. It should be an easy meal without a ton of clean up.

I had lunch today with a former coworker. It’s always fun to catch up on the news and enjoy some laughs together.
It’s been raining steady since yesterday so the backyard is a swamp again. I had enjoyed a few days of not having to wipe paws fifty times a day. We should get a reprieve tomorrow for a few days.
I brought home half my clubhouse sandwich so I will have that and a salad for supper. DH will have soup and a salad.

jeremysgirl I don't believe in predefined roles of household work as husband and wife but rather a sharing of responsibilities as ability and thoughtfulness towards one another allow. Give yourself grace. Hugs to you! Well miracles never cease. The statement was probably in response to last weeks phone message wanting to get it settled. They had reduced the balance to $183. And then deducted that to be a courtesy write off (vs insurance adjustment 🙄) with a zero balance owed. I'm grateful to have it done. I wish I could go back for treatment but don't think I want to deal with this ever again.
