Hi everyone! I'm just puttering around here today ... I have a bunch of boxes and garbage to take out related to my new lights ... kind of awkward ... yay. I replaced the fixture above my dining table and all of the lights in my hallways (replaced those ugly builders lights) ... Here are the old and the new: Ugly old fixture above dining table: New fixture: Old hallway fixture ("boob light"!!): New hallway fixture (there are four): I hired a handyman to install the lights because I don't have a husband anymore ... I'm OK with that! Dinner is up in the air ... I might invite my teacher friend over ... he had a bad day yesterday and I'm curious to find out what happened ... he's very jealous that I'm subbing! How is everyone's SO's feeling? How are you feeling? Especially if you have Covid! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

I really like your new fixtures leannec! My SO has got a death wish. We are working on the camper and he is double checking my work. 🙄😂 Do not enter into renovations without a strong marriage. Hear me scrapmaven and scrappert ? 😉🤣 I don't know what's for dinner. Depends on how long it takes us to prime the camper. If it takes too long, I don't want to cook.

You chose really nice lighting leannec. jeremysgirl, my husband knows that watching over my shoulder is a great way to rile me up. I don't have a temper, but certain things really set me off. In our case, dh really is a handyman and I defer to him when doing home projects. When I'm cooking, stay out of my way. Can you go out for dinner, just to have some fun after a hard day of labor? I'm going to finish packing up our wall units today. Then I'll play my video game, a bit. I might start my online knitting class. Depends how alert I feel. I've been threatening to make tarragon chicken and I'm finally going to do so. It's prepped in the fridge and needs to be assembled and cooked tonight. Enjoy your day, tribe!

I was up and out of the house early to go for a walk with my best friend. We were going to walk the trails in the park but the park was totally flooded due to the large amount of rain we’ve had. We ended up just walking in the local neighborhood.
The rain has stopped and the sun is shining. Hoping for a few days of dry weather.
Supper will be grilled steak.

leannec great choice on fixtures ! Laundry is done and went out for a walk earlier today. I'm feeling under the weather and thought maybe some fresh air will help me. Quiet day with no pans for tyhe rest of the day. Might try to work on some cards. For dinner we are having baked chicken with a baked potato and broccoli.

I think takeout might be an option scrapmaven once the camper is completely taped it shouldn't be too bad. It's small space. So that shouldn't be that big of a job. There just are a lot of nooks and crannies in a camper to tape up.

scrapmaven I was explaining how Tiger Woods’ new logo is a tiger but also like a River. No, wait. That’s kanji for kawa (river). Like Kurokawa (mil’s maiden name). 黒川

leannec - I really like you choice of light fittings We had a normal, boring Saturday - Grocery shopping before lunch, then after lunch I went for a walk, then settled in to knit while watching the football. I got a fair bit of knitting done and our team won the football, so a good afternoon. Dinner was Mexican burgers - DH made them with ground beef, mashed kidney beans, onions, chilis and other spices. We had them with avocado, salsa and tortillas. YUM!

Nice lights leannec!! jeremysgirl my DH and I are happier doing separate projects and I'm like scrapmaven no looking over my shoulder while cooking. My FIL used to follow me and look over my shoulder which drove me crazy which he enjoyed. 😂 I miss that guy. Pouring rain this morning. My golden has not left my bed even though he hasn't had breakfast. I'm fine with that as there should be a break soon and then I can get him outside. Had a lovely time yesterday with my friend eating out and then hitting sees candy next door just for one item. Though cadoodlebug the chocolate for a month sounds lovely. I typically have one dove piece of chocolate a day. Okay sometimes more. But See's had some fun birthday cards so I bought a few. Today is just chores. DH had to go into work and may pick up dim sum on the way home. So then we would just snack for dinner.

Though cadoodlebug the chocolate for a month sounds lovely. I typically have one dove piece of chocolate a day. I eat 1/4 of a Trader Joe's 72% dark chocolate bar in the late morning and the same after dinner. It satisfies my sweet tooth perfectly.

I'm starting to get really excited for our upcoming trip. A month from now we'll be in Norway, then Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland before arriving home on Memorial Day. I've been perusing the Fly Delta App and looking at our seat assignments. Not too thrilled about the 7 flights but looking forward to sleeping on 2 overnight ferries. It's getting real!

I remember you talking about the trip when you booked it but I didnt realize it was coming up this fast. On May 11th I'll be on my way to Kentucky. In hopefully a painted camper. Haha... I need to make the curtains a priority too because we can't have naked windows. Nobody wants to see that. 😂

Chicken soup for dinner tonight. I’m making more stock so the last batch needs to go. I have some rechauffe steamed rice, so maybe it will be chicken rice soup this time. leannec, I love your new dining room light fixture. Where is it from? Got a link? Marina, I stopped by See’s yesterday, too. Mainly to buy some gifts, but I may have also picked up a little something for myself.

Well, if I don't sleep well tonight, something is wrong. We were out the door at 8 AM. We went to Harper's Ferry, Hollywood Casino, lunch, and the used bookstore. I am beat. Parking close to Harper's Ferry is $20, so we parked about 1 1/2 miles away in town for $4. DH made steak and smashed potatoes for dinner. Dessert will be some s'mores cups I found at Aldi that looked tasty. cadoodlebug I'll be out on the west coast in late May, but working 12-15 hour days. Happy Saturday, friends!

lucyg and Marina, there is a See's store that I pass several times a week. Haven't been inside since I stopped buying DH and DS peanut brittle about 6 years ago. DS has two implants and said it wasn't good to eat the brittle. Now I get them Merci chocolates instead.

Hey all- at the airport to finally get home after several weeks of on and off travel! I don’t think I need to get on a plane again for a few weeks although not the same for my poor husband who I think has travel next 3 weeks - luckily short trips but we’re over being in different states! Only a couple of our trips have been together. Dinner tonight will be whatever I can scrounge together from freezer pantry as I won’t get to the store until tomorrow. Love the fixtures leannec - I was thinking when I was doing my decluttering that we were overdo to update some fixtures. Some are looking very 90s! Good luck with the painting jeremysgirl - my husband is very handy but always left painting to me as my eyesight WAS better - I’m not sure mine are up to the task anymore. Your trip sounds fabulous cadoodlebug ! We’re in the middle of detailed planning for our much shorter trip to Greece this summer. I’d love to stay longer but none of us have enough time - someday! Take care all!!

I was gone most of the day yesterday helping set up and going to my niece's engagement party. We had it at the church and it was really nice. About 70 people which was a lot but I'm glad she had such a good turnout. It was themed "BBQ and Brews before the I do's" and we had brisket and pulled pork, lots of salads and sides. I know at some point I grabbed a plate and sat down but it was mostly grazing before the party because we were so busy.

I loved Norway and became obsessed with Stave Churches. There are still several standing and they are just like really intricate haunted houses. Like a cross between Paganism and Christianity, which is really what they were. I'd love to go back and see more and explore Bergen and that area. We stayed in Oslo for a few days and then drove off to the fjords and explored that area for a few days. Have so much fun!
