I was planning to post this in the fall, but since we are talking about concerts now I thought I would ask. What do you wear to concerts? I haven't been to one in many years but am going to Pink and Taylor Swift with my sisters in the fall. My sisters are 23, 28 and 33, so much younger than me (I will be 49 next month). I want to look like I fit in with them and am not their mother, but also don't want to be trying too hard to look like I am in my 20's. Any suggestions on what to look for? What have you worn to concerts?

Taylor Swift is a real event! When I went, women of all ages were in sequinned dresses or tanks, other kinds of cocktail dresses, or Taylor-Swift-themed outfits (replicating less-dressy things she has worn, like her "a lot going on at the moment" t-shirt).
I don't know about Pink, specifically, if there are standard clothes people wear. My go-to concert outfit is a black tank dress (because I get overheated) that I accessorize depending on what the genre of music might be -- eg, for Depeche Mode, it was doc martens, and for Natalie Merchant, a flowing shawl. Mostly I see people my age (middle aged, early 50s, so similar to you) in jeans and going-out tops, if that makes sense.

Don't worry about what other people are wearing or doing or about "fitting in". WEAR WHAT YOU LIKE!
In my younger days, I wore Levi's, a concert t-shirt or tank top of whoever the band or artist was and sneakers. These days, I'd wear leggings, a tank top, a cardigan and flat shoes or boots.
Seriously.... DON'T WORRY ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK!! You do you.

I think it is pretty much a given that I would wear something that I like to a concert (as I do every day), but was more curious what types of things people typically wear to concerts. Am I looking for a dress? Certain style of clothes, etc? I will probably touch base with my sisters when the time gets closer, but will likely look for a "going out" shirt that is different than what I typically wear but not too outside of my comfort zone, if that makes sense. Just looking for some inspiration since I don't "go out" much lol.

For Taylor, anything goes. I wore shorts, and a tshirt with a saying on it. So did my dd, and my dh. We all matched. ha. It was hotter then heck, so everyone either had on shorts or dresses. The atmosphere is fun, easy, friendly, and anything goes without ANY judgement at all. Pink is more rock/jeans outfits. Again,,it's Pink, anything goes.

I just wore jeans and a tee shirt that I got from etsy that said something like being a Swifty mom. I went with my two daughters. They wore LOTS of glittery stuff. Shoes, tops, hair, face. EVERYONE does it, so don't be a party pooper.. haha Pink, I guess I would just wear comfy shoes, jeans, tee.

When I saw Pink last summer most people were wearing pink. I don’t know why that surprised me lol. Probably because I don’t think of her as wearing pink much.

I do casual summer dresses... easy flowy not hot!!! With some glittery converse... its probably considered "old fashioned" but i feel cute and its always comfortable...
If they are fall concerts or colder weather then id do jeans booties and a slouchy burn out tshirt... probably also out of date... but comfortable...

I normally would say comfort trumps everything else (I'm normally in jeans or shorts and a tee), but I'm going to Adam Ant on Saturday and I have a hussar style jacket I'm wearing (yes, in Houston in April) and my 'ant music for sex people' tee. Wearing black jeans (narrow leg) and debating what shoes to wear. I have black above the ankle boots, black ostrich ropers, and gray Chucks in the closet, but I'm wondering if I could use this as an excuse for a new pair of boots. Third row center, baby! (I had tickets to the previous tour that got cancelled because of covid in 2020. I last saw him live in the early 80s when it was still Adam and the Ants)

I think with Taylor Swift you will look out of place if you dress normally - go with glitter!!
We were in Perth last month when the P!nk concert was on over there. We were walking to the train station when all of a sudden, a huge crowd of people on their way to the concert came towards us. There were hundreds and hundreds of people, and I would say that 99% of them were wearing pink - even the guys.

That's interesting that so many people wear pink to a Pink concert. I am a redhead and can't say I have ever worn pink and don't think I will start but who knows. The Pink concert is in October in Minneapolis and Taylor Swift is in Toronto in late November, so dressing might be tricky so as not to freeze walking to and from the concert but not being too hot inside.

I usually go to classic rock concerts… I wear comfy sneakers, cause I stand and dance! Jeans and a. On wet t-shirt. Typically, STYX or Collective Soul. :-)
Have FUN!!

I went to Pink a few years ago. I really don’t remember what I wore.
It depends on the concert, but for an indoor concert, I usually am wearing a blouse, jeans and cute sneakers, boots or sandals depending on weather/type of concert. Often something with/in black. A heavier rock concert I might do plaid/jeans/dress down some.
An outdoor concert or a dead summer indoor concert, I’m wearing sandals, a skort/skirt and a blouse or tshirt.

It'll be interesting to see what people wear to Taylor Swift in November - a big change from the US tour with the outdoor summer shows. I'm recreating one of her past concert looks with a knee length sequin dress as the base. And I'm your same age, down to the birth month.
For Noah Kahan this week, I'm wearing jeans and a flannel.
Mostly for concerts I would just wear jeans, docs or sneakers, and a dressier 'going-out' top.

I would just say comfortable shoes that are not your favorite. I guess those shows you aren't going to have a ton of sticky beer floors, but for most rock type shows, I have a specific, old pair of low black suede boots. They are beat to heck, and I replace with comfortable/supportive insoles.
For TS - I wore sneakers, jeans and a tshirt I got from Etsy of lyrics from Lover album. I took a chiffon kimono top to put over as well, it was spring, so it did get a little cool later.
You may want to coordinate with your sisters - most groups had each person representing a different era/album, it was cute.
I am so glad I wore sneakers, for one, everyone stands/dances most of show, I had to lean on seat a little to give myself a rest. There were so many girls in beautiful outfits, but with heels and uncomfortable looking shoes, carrying them out barefooted as they made their way through parking lots.
But the normal outfit is boots/sneakers, jeans, and a tshirt, with either leather or denim jacket.

I was going to say plether and denim, but for Taylor Swift and Pink, I'd go more bubbly and fun. For Taylor Swift Reputation, my friend had custom t-shirts made that said, "We never go out of style" for us moms and a matching one with a different song quote for the kids.

I went full reputation for Taylor. Snake skin skirt and black sequined top - I looked "tame" next to my daughter wearing a literal replication of her midnights costume - I'm not kidding. People were all in! My husband is sad that now he could have just wore a chiefs jersey where my daughter found some kind of snake shirt for him.
Pink no clue - usually for "normal" concerts I wear jeans and a fun top.

Definitely comfy shoes for TS.... it's a LONNNNGGG concert and you are standing for the majority of it. I finally faded out in the last hour.. even my kids were dying... It's SOOO great though. Don't forget to wear and trade bracelets... that is also a must.. haha.. We have a boatload that we have worn to other events as well.
