90% of what I scrap is my boys...and 80% of that is sports or music...so no, I have never embraced the floral trend. I am always excited when I have a reason to use florals (because I have so much from various kits) but then I have a hard time actually using them. This

Yes.
(01) I am a hyperfeminine "pink is my favorite color" ruffles-lace-flowers extravaganza of a woman so I include flowers on my layouts just like I do in my clothes, my home, etc.
(02) My daughter, it turns out, is actually a super androgynous non-binary person who would rather die than wear anything floral so all of their pages, just like their brother's and stepdad's, are rather muted and neutral-looking. Adding a flower or two, like I do for their brother and stepdad, and my signature butterfly is my way of saying "I made this" and "I love you."
(03) The theme of my 40s is "Being alive is a special an occasion as it gets." Going on the trips I always dreamed about, spending money on kitschy trinkets & accessories, and using flowers on my pages makes me happy so I'mma do it & I'mma do it now & I'mma do it a lot.

I will never not love florals, but I don't always like the style that I see. I rarely try to match a specific theme between my photos and papers, other than something vague like 'tropical-ish' because I live in FL, which is still kinda floral lol. So I get to use them a fair bit.

My answer was not an option - I love florals where florals are appropriate, and use them where I feel they belong, but I shake my head when I see them just filling up space .

Thanks for your participation in the poll & responses. Perhaps because I've got the antithesis of a green thumb &/or primarily scrap our son & his activities, including various sports, I'm part of the minority that does not embrace the floral trend.

I’m not a fan of using florals, but agree that flowers can be a standard shape/pattern. The trend part to me is the over-saturation - they are everywhere and on anything, including icons that I really don’t want flowers on.
I love stars. I will buy all the star paper and would snatch up an ephemera pack or sticker sheet with all stars, so I get that for those who love flowers. BUT, I wouldn’t want stars erupting from a typewriter, exploding out of a book, covering a paintbrush, stuck to a ghost, or sprouting from a camera. This is what annoys me about designers using flowers in this manner. It’s really gotten ridiculous and makes so many icons and embellishments unusable for me.

I don't really see florals as a trend. I view them as a neutral pattern, like a polka dot or a stripe. As far as embellishments go, I see them as neutrals, too. Sometimes you want something more organic, rather than the hard line of a tag or label. I think florals are so versatile.

I have almost no interest in florals. If I take into account all of the floral papers that either were part of a paper pad, kit, collection, or were given to me as a gift, I already have far more floral than I will ever, ever use.
The ones I've accidentally obtained over the years I sometimes use for cards, or if they have a non-floral flip side, then I use them for scrapping purposes. Or I will use them for a planner or journal.
I can only think of one layout in which I have ever purposely purchased floral print papers, and that was for photos of a niece over a decade ago.
