I was absolutely thinking it would be drunk teens, not adults. Shame on me. I hope with photos of them someone will recognize them and come forward.

Looks like father and his 3 kids--daughter screaming while the males do their work.

Me too. I just saw that, and I am furious. And they are grown ass men! Old enough to know better.

I used to work in national parks. basically most americans think parks are amusement parks.. more like disney than a protected site. it is sad what goes on.

Well most Americans think Mount Rushmore is a national treasure instead of the ultimate graffiti of carving the faces of 4 white men into the side of a mountain on stolen Indian land. 🤷🏼♀️

don't get me started on mt rushmore.. when I visited there 30 yrs ago I wanted to know about the geology.. and the indigenous culture there.. crickets.
I was not happy. all they could talk about was the presidents and the sculpture. bad interpretation.

However, the Crazy Horse Memorial is ongoing and doing the same thing. (not saying that 2 wrongs make a right, just pointing it out, it is also on what some consider sacred land, and this is a private project, not federally funded).

Maybe I am naive, but I feel like the park is trying to honor both those things now... (and of course the presidents, although it felt like to me more about how the did the carving back then)

yes.. the park service is changing.. both from the local staff to the fact that the person in charge and his boss are from the indigenous community..
I'll bet someone will identify them..

I’m surprised they haven’t been identified yet. Idiots.

I read that they could get 6 months in jail and a $5000 fine. I hope that they get both.😡

I live in a national park. Desecration happens a lot here, mainly graffiti, names carved into things, etc. No idea if any get caught. One of the draws is free spring water. Wouldn't be surprised if they do away with the fountains due to vandals.

I hope they are identified and receive the harshest judgment available.

I hoe they are identified and receive the harshest judgment available. This ^^ Plus their identity known so society can shun them.
