Good morning.
Today I do need to run to the store, since I didn't do so, yesterday. Apart from that I hope to get in some good puzzle time. Dinner will be Giada's chicken meatballs and salad.
What's on your menu?
**GypsyGirl**, how is your husband doing? Did his scan get scheduled? I'm thinking of you both.
How is everyone doing today? I'm enjoying the recent days of doing more and being in my recliner a lot less and just hope that I can keep going for a long stretch.
May today bring good news, happiness and sighs of relief for those who need them.

I'll run a few errands this morning and continue doing things to get ready for our trip. We have a meet and greet with our fellow travelers this Saturday. I'll make the nametags, some pralines and I started a new group on Facebook for us to share thoughts and pictures during and after the trip. Dinner might stuffed red bell peppers.

I'm back! Back to a normal work schedule and home life.
I feel like I have missed out on a lot going on here.
It has been a gorgeous past couple of days. Supposed to start raining this evening. We have already had over 4 inches of rain this month. I am getting antsy to start getting flowers planted. I know it is too early here.
DH and DS are helping me this evening with some work related items. I'm pretty sure we will grab something out. That will be my way of repaying DS for helping me.

I did not make the bbq chicken last night. We worked on the yard to get it mowed before it rains tonight. Ended up at McDonald's...I finally got my fish!!
Tonight is his mom's birthday, there will be cake. We will eat before we go so the chicken is defrosted from yesterday so it will be quicker to make.

I am just home after a busy day. I met my friend at the family centre where we met to finish up checking over the annual financial statements, that I started doing before my vacation. Once we were done, I went to pick up her daughter from school as she had a doctors appointment. We then met to hand over Miss S, then continued on to home. I did fit in a visit to the Asian grocery near the school to pick up a few things for dinner.
Dinner tonight is Dim Sum - I have a selection of dumplings and gyoza to steam and will make some dipping sauces soon.

I'm enjoying the recent days of doing more and being in my recliner a lot less and just hope that I can keep going for a long stretch. I love this for you! Just love it. I'm back! Back to a normal work schedule and home life. You would be so proud of me. I filed my taxes at 5:57pm yesterday. I mean I had more than 6 hours to spare!!! I am the most last minute accountant when it comes to my taxes. LOL! I'm glad you get to relax for a while. I'm picking Mom up at the airport late this afternoon so I will eat dinner on the road. She couldn't fly into our small airport, so I've got to drive to Grand Rapids. I had 4 meetings scheduled for today. Ugh. I rescheduled the only one I was in charge of for next week. I mean three meetings a day is about my limit. I had to come into the office for a bit. But I'm heading home right now.

stormsts, it's so nice to see you hear. Though, I must confess that I wondered if you'd faceplanted into your pillow for a few weeks after your tax-a-thon at work. Relax and have some long overdue fun. scrappert, how was your fillet o' fish? Was it as good as always? ntsf, when is the celebration of life? Will you be able to do more skiing while you're up there? cadoodlebug, good meme today. How fun that you are getting together w/your travel group. sueg, you're a wonderful friend and that little girl has no idea how lucky she is to have you caring for her. jeremysgirl, after a busy day I wish you good rest and relaxation tonight.

Happy Tuesday!
I've recovered after my mental health day yesterday and am feeling a lot less tired. Had my monthly one on one with my boss and that went well. I'll have my one year review coming up soon and hoping I'll get a salary bump as well so I'm looking forward to that.
Dinner tonight will probably be taco salad as I have some hamburger to use up. Not a lot going on today which is nice. The last two weeks of the month are usually pretty chill.
Have a great day!

I spent some time cleaning the house this morning. I feel like it’s never clean due to muddy paws, shedding hair and dog dander. I love him dearly but my house never seems clean.
Tonight is my monthly dinner with my past coworkers. We are on the letter P and are eating at Paddy Flaretys. They have fantastic fish and chips.

LOL! jeremysgirl. I filed my extension about 10pm last night. It was the last thing I did before leaving the office. scrapmaven, still filing returns today. The deadline means nothing to a lot of people but now they are on my time. Nothing planned for a while. My business partner has some personal things to take care of so she cut out late yesterday afternoon and I'm not sure when she will be back. I'm just going to enjoy not working evenings and weekends.

Maybe that's what I'll stop for tonight. I would stop at Jack in the Box and get an order of onion rings. Now that I can't have that stuff do I get to tell everyone else what to eat? hehe.
Oh no, Darcy Collins. I hope that you get lots of rest today and feel much better by tmw.

You don't have Jack in the Box?!?!?! Oh my that terrible! Actually I'm not sure we have it here either, but it was my lunch staple growing up - their ultimate cheese burger was the bomb! I haven't had fast food for decades. My nephew came to visit and was asking where the nearest McDonalds was and I said I had no clue - it was next to our grocery store, but I'd never noticed!

I am dropping all 275 items off at the consignment sale this afternoon. My girlfriend is dropping hers at the same time. Sale starts on Wednesday evening and continues through Sunday. I will be working there for 3 shifts. Hoping a lot of stuff sells.
Dinner tonight is Zuppa Toscana. I can't believe that I actually have meals planned out for the entire week. Go me!!!

Beautiful sunny day outside. There is a new motorcycle repair shop down the street from me. I am hearing lots of revving of bikes. My exh & I used to motorcycle a lot, as he had a big touring bike. Carefree, picnic basket strapped down and hair blowing in the wind. Memories. Tonight I'm going out with friends for Thia food and then to see a movie at an independent theatre, seeing One Life. ONE LIFE UK, 2024. Directed by James Hawes. 110 in. PG. Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Lena Olin, Johnny Flynn Based on the book If It's Not Impossible...: The Life of Sir Nicholas Winton by Barbara Winton, One Life tells the incredible, emotional true story of Nicholas 'Nicky' Winton, a young London broker who visits Prague in December 1938. In a race against time, Winton convinces the British Committee for Refugees in Czechoslovakia to rescue hundreds of predominantly Jewish children before Nazi occupation closes the borders. Fifty years later, Nicky is haunted by the fate of the children he couldn't bring to safety in England. It's not until the BBC show "That's Life!" re-introduces him to some of those he helped rescue that he finally begins to come to terms with the guilt and grief he carried -- all the while skyrocketing from anonymity to a national hero. “The story is so inherently powerful and moving and there is so much goodness and decency at work.” Deborah Ross, The Guardian “The film does justice to this overwhelmingly moving event in British public life in a quietly affecting drama.” Peter Bradshaw, Guardian scrapmaven ~ glad that you are more mobile and enjoying the weather. cadoodlebug ~ Facebook groups for group travel are a wonderful way to connect with each other. I'm staying in touch with the gals that I went on the quilting cruise with. Everyone is slowly finishing up their projects and so great to see the final product. stormsts ~ Canadian Revenue Agency tax deadline is April 30th and mine are done. ntsf ~ enjoy your aqua fit class. Preparing for a Celebration of Life is stressful. Glad that you dh is feeling a bit better about this. scrappert ~ The filet of fish at Rotten Ronnie's is good. Enjoy the cake tonight. sueg ~ Great that you could help out your friend by taking care of Miss S. She is a lucky girl to have you in her life. jeremysgirl ~ Enjoy the ride to the airport. Are the tulips in full bloom in Grand Rapids? Enjoy the celebration tomorrow. Tearisci ~ A mental health day is sometimes needed. taylortroop ~ I have eaten at Paddy Flaretys many years ago. A friend was on a quest to eat at pubs that had originated in Ireland and moved to Canada. The food was excellent as was the atmosphere. Enjoy your evening. Darcy Collins ~ Unfortunate that you picked up an un-welcomed souvenir from your trip. Soup is healing. The Birdhouse Lady ~ That is a lot of stuff to sell. Enjoy your time at this event. bklyngal62 ~ Soup is a good choice for dinner. Rest and get better soon.

the celebration of life.. just an informal gathering at her house.. about 16-25 people I am bringing up some photo albums.. all our kids will be there, as is her sister and dh's sister.
no real structure..
the ski season is over mostly.. and all my gear lives in sun valley idaho..
my dh wants to sell her house.. my kids aren't happy with that. but it will be a chance to claim quilts she made, any dodads.. and I am thinking of her sewing machine, fabric etc.. that now is at her sister's (against dh's wishes..) I don't have space for her serger. maybe a table made by a cousin 80-90 yrs ago.

bklyngal62 I didn't realize yesterday when you said you weren't feeling well it was a physical sickness. I thought it was a mental health day. Which is just as important in my world. 😉 Much more likely for me too. Feel better. quiltz Jeremy's best friend rides a motorcycle. I was having a really down day several months after Esther had passed and he came up and spent a good two hours driving me all over the place on the back of his bike. It felt like good medicine that day. I spent every free moment today looking at fabric. I have no idea why I feel like I want to buy something.

Everyone is slowly finishing up their projects and so great to see the final product. This is the 5th FB group I've created for our tours. So much fun and years later you can look back at all the good memories. Of course, I also make a scrapbook for each trip. We loved the movie One life. Even DH had tears in his eyes.

I'm not feeling well at all! probably picked up something with all the travel. Soup for me I guess tonight. Take care all! As a former postal employee, Noooooooo! It was ridiculous. People would come in last minute with their own calculators and start from square one, last minute. Some without calculators, demanding we supplied. Traffic jams at the drive up boxes. Complaining people everywhere, nobody likes taxes I get it but damn, it comes every year, get over it and get prepared. We supplied the basic forms, but it was inevitable that someone would come in every year looking for some obscure form that like three people would use and go ballistic when we didn't have it. Crazy times. Actually, it wasn't too bad and most people were nice,we always had food supplied and we kind of made a party out of it. It was just the random entitled @$$ that could turn it to temporary hell. Just went out to lunch with DS ($5 appetizer happy hour he likes) so that will be lunch and dinner. Maybe late(r) night snack.

The patio guys got here about midday and are still removing grass and dirt. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow so that will delay it.
For some reason my back is worse today so I’m not doing much. It’s so inconvenient.
My praying mantis eggs hatched too soon today. It’s too cold at night for them. Unbeknownst to dh I let some loose in my lime tree. It has white flies hatching. Hopefully they’ll eat those. If not they’ll just die off.
Dinner is whatever rechauffe I can find in the fridge.

I’ve been eating chicken wonton soup (made by me) and pastries (supplied by the very evil gentleman friend) all day. urggh, I feel like a grizzly bear lumbering off to hibernation now. There are also three separate tubs of marinated beets currently in my fridge. So I’m thinking dinner will be salad with beets on top. Not even going to bother with salad dressing. Maybe the same thing every night this week.
