Not a fan of Martin Scorsese. He makes movies I don’t watch A story in Variety caught my attention. It seems Scorsese may be planning to film two movies back to back. One about the life of Jesus and one about the life of Frank Sinatra. And according to Variety he’s eyeing Leonardo DiCaprio to play Sinatra. I just can’t see that. What do you think? Do you think DiCaprio can become a believable Sinatra? From Variety…… link“The Sinatra project could also hit some snags: The legendary crooner’s daughter Tina Sinatra controls her father’s estate and hasn’t yet given her blessing to the film. But that hasn’t stopped Scorsese from putting together a killer cast that would see frequent collaborator Leonardo DiCaprio playing the singer and Jennifer Lawrence portraying his second wife, actress Ava Gardner, sources say. It was Gardner who broke up Sinatra’s marriage with Nancy Barbato, Tina’s mother. With two of the biggest movie stars on the planet as leads, the film is drawing interest from major studios and streamers. Apple, which financed the $215 million “Flower Moon,” would love to stay in business with Scorsese, but Sony is said to be the frontrunner to nab the project.

Is Ronan Farrow available? I think Leo could work.

Frank Sinatra - A Man and His Music. The Voice. The phrasing, the breath control, the emotion, the timing, the smoothness...the best crooner of his time. I listen to him almost every day. Siriusly Sinatra is a favorite on my car radio. I play the station on my Amazon Alexas frequently.
As for Leo - I'm not a big fan, but ... In Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby, Leo showed the right amount of sophistication, glamor, glitz with an undertone of sadness and melancholy. I think he would be able to embody the complex, multi-talented man that Frank Sinatra appeared to be. I'm not quite seeing how they could make a movie without the music being a major component and how Leo would handle that facet of Frank Sinatra.
With all that said, I've not given any thought to who might be a better fit.

I can see it... He's a pretty darn good actor. I would have to see him in full makeup though.. that part I'm having trouble seeing.

I would rather see Harry Connick, Jr., as Sinatra. Plus, he can sing.

First up, I am a big fan of Martin Scorsese, I LOVE his movies. They are some of the best films ever made, IMO.
I think Di Caprio would be brilliant as Sinatra! I would watch it for sure.
I am confused about this part:
So what if she hasn't given her "blessing" to the film. I mean, I guess it would be nice to have, but she can't stop it from being made. I'm sure there will be lots of things in the movie that she won't be happy about, such as his numerous affairs and his links to organised crime. But hey, we all know about that.

I read something about this recently. Sinatra's daughter owns all the royalties, copyrights, etc. If she doesn't agree with something, she xan stop it from being produced.

DiCaprio is almost 50. He's too old to play Sinatra at the height of his career. He was too old to play a young soldier just returning from the war in "Killers of the Flower Moon". To be fair, he was probably young enough when we got to the theater. That movie was L-O-N-G.

I think Leo can pull it off. He is a hell of an actor. He wouldn't be the first person my mind would go to when casting a movie about Frank Sinatra. But Leo will smash that part.
