Do you think you would make basically the same scrapbook page with the same design and colors no matter when you scrapped it? Or does mood, time of day, season, weather, fate... change what you end up with?
The three times I've accidentally scrapped the same photos/event the pages were very very similar: same colors, same general design, even the journaling was very similar...

Hmmm, good question. I have gone back and changed some of my much older pages so I expect at least some of them would be scrapped differently. Definitely wouldn’t use the specialty scissors and cut my photos into shapes

I doubt very strongly that I would make the same type of page. I think my mood and the seasons change the way I design things. That applies to my scrapbook pages, cards, and the jewelry I make. Good question!

Most of the time I choose the colours from the photos, so if I were to inadvertently scrap the same photos, it would probably look very similar. When I eventually find the negatives from my DD's baby photos, I will re-scrap them all. The style will definitely be different to the CM style pages I did back in the early 2000s - plain cardstock in primary colours and oval shaped photos with scalloped borders!

Design would be different for sure. Journaling however would be about the same.
I too have scrapbooked the same photo twice and each layout was different.

I've never scrapped the same story twice so do not have first-hand experience. I suspect they would be similar in (extensive) journaling, style, colors, & photo sizes (4x6), but may differ in page layout/design.
For kit scrappers, sketch users, &/or challenge participants, I suspect their layouts would look different because they would not be using the same kit, sketch, &/or challenges.

I recently discovered that I scrapped the same childhood photos twice. My layouts were actually pretty different. I ended up pulling a few things from the one I discarded to add to the one I kept.

Ive mentioned this on here before, I made 2 DDs for 2020. Both are similar to each other and I didn’t do the photos chronological. I think I even used an embellishment on the same photo, in the same place on both…a ticket maybe? I think I have a consistent method and even layouts from 20 years ago still look like my style.

My style has changed a bit over the years, but the colors I use are pulled from the photos, as Aussie Meg mentioned that she does. So I would probably use the same colors, but the style of the page would be different.
If I scrapped the same photos within a shorter period of time, such as within 1 to two years apart, then the style would probably not change that much. However, my style of scrapping has changed significantly since I started scrapbooking in 1996, so if I scrapped the older photos again now, they would be very different. I lean heavily on what papers I have on hand to scrapbook with, since I no longer live near any LSS, but I have a bigger stash to draw upon these days, and with more stamps, dies, and digital papers and components to work with now, too.
I’ve been playing with the digital downloads that Heartfelt Creations has recently released, and others here have recently mentioned AI components, which I may have to try. As my options change, my pages and cards change, also I do seem to have settled into a style that suits me.
I think the biggest factor for me would be the amount of time that has lapsed between when I scrapped the pictures.

I've accidentally scrapped the same photo quite a few times. The layouts are very different. I tend to scrap with a collection/kit, so it depends what the products were at the time. I also follow trends a lot.
My scrapping style from 20 years ago is very different than what it is today. I never got into the shaped photo scrapping so I'm pretty happy with my old layouts. I have gone back and added some patterned paper, because when I started I used mainly cardstock.

I think mine would be very different especially if a lot of time had passed. I recently went through my patterned paper and some that I used to love doesn't match my current style. Same with embellishments. I have so much wood veneer that I used to use all the time but don't any more. My photo choices might even be different. When I started scrapbooking I used ALL my photos (so many pages.) Now I am more selective and even print photos different sizes which I didn't do in the beginning.
If it was twice in the same year, they might be similar.

Yes. That has happened to me. I made a page for my 6x8 or 4x8 travel album and then without realizing it made almost the same page for my 8.5x11 album.
I've prob done it other times and just not noticed it. I scrapbook as a creative outlet so I tend to put pages in a big pile and put them away in albums a couple times a year.

I’ve knowingly scrapped the same photo twice on rare occasions because I love the photo and plan to put the page in a different album. I don’t think the pages would be the same, but I definitely have a preferred color palette and style.
I also have some really old pages from a premade album that I want to remake. I’ve neglected doing so because my scrapbooking pace is slow nowadays. I feel my time might be better spent getting new pages into albums. I might break down and do it anyway because I really dislike them lol.
