Good morning.
I brought a new puzzle out of its box last night, so my day is taken care of. There will be the requisite chores, but all in all it will be a nice day.
Not sure what dinner will be, but I think it'll be rechauffe fried rice from last night w/a salad.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
jeremysgirl , how are you feeling today? Did you get some good rest last night? I'm thinking of you and hope that you're resting comfortably.
Enjoy a happy, easy day, my tribe.

I have a call into the surgeons nurse. I slept fine. The nerve block didn't wear off until this morning. But I had some bleeding. He said I would. Jeremy thinks it was too much. But it hasn't continued today. So I'm not sure what to think. I'd like to rewrap though as the loose bandage he put on is now gross.
I don't have much pain. I do have much swelling. I am icing with a bag of soybeans 😂. Typing one fingered.
Hamburgers tonight.

Happy Tuesday!
I'm plugging along at work checking things off of my to-do list which is a good feeling. I'm hoping to get my tasks done early so I can have a quiet afternoon. I should clean my bathrooms so I can take that off of the to-do list for this weekend.
Tonight will probably be leftover chicken casserole from last night if my parents come over. I made enough to feed an army and as a singleton, I don't want to keep eating leftovers for days!
Hope you all have a good day!

I bought DH a phone this morning. He's still using my old Galaxy S7. With our trip coming up, I want him to have a great camera on his phone. I bought him the same one I have, an S22, for just over $300. It's in mint condition. Off to run errands. I think dinner will be stuffed red bell peppers.

Good evening from me! Not much going on here. There have been workmen outside doing something on our pavement all along our side of the street. A bit noisy, but I also felt for the workers, as we’ve have drizzling rain all day and it’s been close to freezing, so it must have been miserable for them. I did a recycling run this morning - partly to check out what was going on outside. After lunch I met my friend at a cafe near her DD’s school for coffee and to chat about her legal issues with her ex, the accounting checks we did for the family centre and my fun with the finance organiser and all the forms I didn’t really need to worry about. I popped into the Turkish supermarket at the shopping mall, to see if I could find something easy for dinner. I remembered why I love to go there - lots of cuts of lamb, and chicken thighs and drumsticks - though I don’t have freezer space for them right now. Dinner tonight will be some beef mince borek that I found at the Turkish shop - just need to pop them in the oven for 10 minutes later when I want to eat. Depending on the health of the lettuce in the fridge, I may make a salad too. jeremysgirl - I hope you continue to heal well and that the bleeding isn’t a problem. Take care of yourself and let Jeremy do all the things so you recover properly.

This is DD’s last full day here. I have a medical thing later on. Then we’ll be driving the 15yo to his badminton game this afternoon, then maybe we’ll go out for dinner at a restaurant we both like (that is, surprise! NOT my friend’s Mexican restaurant) or maybe we’ll throw something together at home. There’s still rechauffe hanging around. We were supposed to have dinner with mom tonight but she wants to wait a few days. I’m okay with that. We’re all kind of overwhelmed at the moment.

lucyg , aren't you just the date inspector this morning? How is everything going? I hope that you can take a stress break and do something relaxing at some point, today. jeremysgirl , glad that you're not in pain. Take it easy today and let yourself heal. What did the doctor say? Tearisci , enjoy your evening. sueg , dinner will be yummy. Have a lovely evening. cadoodlebug , great idea to get dh a better camera. You must be very excited, because your trip is coming up so quickly. Do you have lots of shopping still to do?
ETA: I corrected the date!

scrapmaven I'm taking it so easy that I'm still in my pajamas. For a lady who has to talk herself into the shower each day, I sure am having a hard with pj's all day. 😂 But I couldn't put on a bra if I tried so...clothes seem pointless.

Day 2 of contractors working on projects so another day spent in solitary with the dog in my office/sewing room. He's been really good about it but the ample treats are helping with that I'm sure. He gets the run of the house/yard between noon and 1 pm while they take a lunch break. Really bummed that there has been a kink in replacing the stained tile around the old toilet base. Because we have underfloor heating, and no definitive information on exactly where it stops in that area, they are not going to be able to replace the tiles. They could take a chance, but if they nick a wire it will kill the system. The ballpark estimate to replace the entire marble floor & heating system should that happen is $7,500! Not something I want to deal with this summer, so will continue to rely on contour rugs to hide the ugly tile. The upside is that maybe I'll get my new toilet in later today! Painters got pushed until tomorrow, but hopefully they are able to finish everything up then. I'm catching up on paperwork and doing a bit of sewing today. All the talk of spaghetti yesterday has made me want some, so I have some hamburger thawing and will make that for dinner. Bonus is that I can freeze the extra for future meals when it is too hot to cook. jeremysgirl - Have they told you how long you have to keep the hand dry? When I had hand surgery it was 3 weeks. Best thing I did was go to the salon for a wash/blow dry a couple of times a week. Once your stitches are out, I recommend using ScarAway Silicone Scar Gel and LaRoche Posay Cicaplast Gel B5 Skin Protectant on the scar a few times a day (Avène also makes an excellent cicaplast cream & gel). You cannot even see the scar on my palm now. It also did wonders for DH after his major kidney surgery. I popped into the Turkish supermarket at the shopping mall, That is something I miss from living overseas. We just don't have food markets in our malls here (at least not in my area).

Hey all - popping in to see how everyone's doing. Been crazy busy few days and I'm traveling AGAIN on Sunday for beginning of next week. Totally unexpected, and I'm frustrated as my husband is gone the beginning of the following week. We really aren't used to so much travel and it's driving us batty!

We took a quick trip into the city this morning to do a few errands. We were home just in time for my hair cut appointment. After that busy morning, I’ve parked myself in the recliner with my book. I’m hoping the rain holds off so I can take Walker for a walk this afternoon.
Supper tonight will be pork chops (grilled if the rain holds off, baked if it rains), potatoes and a veggie of some sort.

I have to keep it dry for only 3 days. **GypsyGirl** honestly I have to say I'm not terribly worried about about the scar either. I rebandaged and it looks like the incision was in the crease. So I don't think it'll look too bad. Truthfully it's swollen and bruised but 800 mg of ibuprofen is plenty of pain relief. I think it ended up being a big nothing burger. I probably could go back to work tomorrow. Jeremy won't let me but I could. I'm just reading.

I just can't get motivated to do much today. It has been raining all day and is cool. Did a little laundry this morning and cleaned the kitchen. I really need to go to the grocery store but I am putting that off until tomorrow. jeremysgirl glad you aren't in much pain. Dinner is up in the air.

You must be very excited, because your trip is coming up so quickly. Do you have lots of shopping still to do? Nothing big, just little items. And I need to start taking out cash from the ATM. We each pay our Travel Director $12 a day so that adds up. Plus the city guides and the bus drivers. Dinner has been switched to salmon burgers.

jeremysgirl, MILK THIS AS LONG AS YOU CAN! Consider it a break from the horrible team. They can be useless and it will be obvious that they are if you take the week off. I'm glad that your pain is well controlled w/just ibuprofen. Don't be in a hurry to race back to work. MILK THIS! stormsts, you have every right to just chill out. After the past few months, your job is chill out and rest. KelleeM, thank you for posting the recipe. That is total dh food. **GypsyGirl**, I don't know how to congratulate you on getting a new toilet. So, I will just say this, Bombs away"!

I nearly choked on bombs away! 😂🤣😂🤣😂 Honestly scrapmaven our whole accounting/ finance system went down Thursday afternoon and is not coming back up until tomorrow afternoon. I'm very sure I'm missing little to nothing. And I know that given the system down my coworker for sure isn't doing anything.

Add spf to the scar when it’s healed. Sun darkens scars. Had 2 freakin medical appointments today bi feel like that’s all I do lately. 1 was annual skin check. 3 pre-cancerous spots on my face. I knew there was one for sure. He took care of them today. The patio people showed up today for the 1st time in 6 days. They made some progress. Ran into the garden store to scope out hydrangea trees. They have a topiary look to them. More expensive than I thought. But isn’t everything anymore? Picked up Luke for the afternoon. **GypsyGirl**. The insta account Go Clean might have a tike cleaning video for your problem.

teddyw, I'm going to use your post as a reminder to everyone that each month you should do a skin check as well as a self breast exam. An annual dermatologist appt is a must for everyone. Glad you got those spots removed. Tmw you need to plan at least one nice thing for yourself.

jeremysgirl I'm glad you are not in much pain. Take your time to heal and don't rush back to work. We were having inventory at work today so it was a busy day. Finally home and relaxing with a glass of wine. For dinner we had skirt steak with rice, beans and guacamole.

I have to go every 6 months because of the number of BCCs I have had to get removed over the last few years. I've lost count, I think it's about eight. It's great living in the skin cancer capital of the world.

It's great living in the skin cancer capital of the world. I may have mentioned this before, but you should have seen the change in my dermatologist here when I mentioned I grew up in Australia. She went from relaxed 'so why did your GP refer you?' to 'OK, let's check every inch of your body' instantly!

I always thought my skin cancer doc was thorough, but he didn't pick up the one behind my ear. That was a bad one to miss. At least it was only a BCC and not a melanoma.

I think it also shows how you have to give your doctors ALL the info thy need. My doctor knew I wasn't German, but with my name possibly assumed I was English or Irish, neither of which are such a high skin cancer risk
