Is anyone participating in this weekend's Papercrafting event? It is completely layout focused this time. I've been printing photos and doing some homework to get ready.

I am! I haven't started on homework yet, but did get completely caught up on photo printing so I can choose photos for each layout/class. I'm actually watching Becki's "meet & great" as I type this. I will probably do the homework tomorrow. I'm at the tail end of a craft room re-org and have some storage solutions coming in the mail today that I want to get put away so I can feel good about pausing the re-org for a few days.

I hope to watch the meet and greet replay tonight. I'm struggling a bit to figure out pictures for Jana's layouts so I'm going to wait and watch first. I'm working on homework for Meghann and Virginia today. It always feels good to have things reorganized. I seems to find things I forgot about! Lol

I am too. All the homework I have left is printing photos. I've never participated in a Crop and Create before. I'm enjoying all the hype!

I really enjoy the SCT scrapbooking events, and I'm SO happy they cut out all the non-scrapbooking projects. I do all kinds of paper crafting, but I like the events to be diluted down to one type of craft, rather than bouncing around between all things paper. That's just me and how my brain works, though.
I tend to have a hard time getting exciting for an event if I have other things going on that I need to get through first, before the event happens. The last of those "things" is today, so I'm hoping tomorrow I will start to get excited about this weekend. I'm SO ready to be crafting again after a bit of a pause over the last month.

I'm in too! I've done the listed homework, but I think I'm going to get a little ahead and do some of the paper cutting that isn't listed as homework. I've gone through the classes and chosen about 1 or 2 layouts per class that I'll focus on this weekend and I'm printing pictures now. I'm getting too old, and have too many health issues, to do all of it over the weekend! After doing 11 (!) of these SCT events I've learned that taking it slow and easy is best for me, and leaves me with things to do over the coming weeks.

However, I did notice that on her layouts it would be easy to add the pictures later, so I'll come back to those later and add pictures.

I am too! First time for this event and I’m liking it so far. I’m impressed by the number and variety of projects and that just about everything comes with the kit. I’m about 1/3 of the way done with the homework. I think I’m going to wait with pictures. I’m either going to find some pages in old albums that were never done and use these there or my boys books which are a work in progress. My creative mind has been awaken though which is the #1 reason o signed up for this.

I haven't scrapbooked in many many years but the event being strictly scrapbooking sounds dreamy. If anyone can post pics of the cover of the booklet that would be eye candy to drool over. Also, post your layouts here for all of us to see. Have fun!!!

YES! I have so many more card classes to finish than layouts! Same here! And same for me, too. When you put it this way - I'm now seeing that if I had to drop one of the events I should drop the card making one because I always finish the scrapbooking one but not the card one. I'm so glad this event is just layouts, I'm not a mini book person except WITL and DD. I haven't started on any homework yet - too much going on right now, but I'm hoping things settle down a bit soon and I can start printing photos tomorrow.

I am too! I cannot tell you how happy I am that this event is ALL LAYOUTS! No headache of turning a mini book class into layouts or just sadly putting that class product into my stash.
The pages are very nice and I’m happy with the teachers and what they made (so far).
My only caveat is that this event is extremely floral, more light colors/pastel etc. I get that it’s spring and that’s what’s out paper product-wise. But I am struggling to pair photos with all this feminine looking product 😬 Even going back years… I’m really struggling.
I wish we could have a more variety. Even if the paper is “old” by a couple of months. I know the folks who don’t have fall complain about that too and it’s a valid concern. But these pages are really hard to work with if you’re scrapping boys and men, primarily. I’d be so happy to even get a themed collection like Valentine’s Day to even out all this “spring” we’ll be receiving year after year if they keep this event at this time of year. Or I’d be happy getting summer collections in the fall. I just feel like we need something other than florals, pink, and feminine. Or all fall for the no-fall people. That will be the thing that keeps me from doing this event next year if it is the same time.

I love fall and always have a ton of photos to scrap but I get why they wanted to change it up.

I have all boys so that’s what I scrapbook and at this point I’ve given up on trying to make it all masculine for them and their interests in our family books. I focus on that for their individuals but my books are full of links and flowers galore. In the end they don’t really care either.

I don’t use typically masculine stuff all the time. But I literally cannot make enough of my photos work for these lines. We’re talking football photos, dirt bike pics, sporting event photos… and they’re always wearing colors that clash with spring papers too. Bright orange. Neon green. It’s bad. Like I understand your point but these photos feel down right ridiculous using Jana’s kit, for example. I wouldn’t be happy with the outcome. I’ve made a spring campout work for one of the pages and can do that kind of thing for some of these but having the whole box be this color scheme and look is rough. I’ve scrapped more “me” type layouts than I have the photos for too. I think my family is much more active, outdoorsy and athletic than what this box assumes of scrappers. Some of choices feel geared toward an older crowd, grandmas, gardening, going to brunch kind of stuff and that’s definitely not my family. 😂 I’m not unhappy, just a little frustrated as I prep pics and wishing for more variety.

I really enjoyed Virginia's sewing program. I sew very rarely and it's been a while since I've done it. Seeing a detailed walkthrough of the setup process was a great reminder and I even learned something new!
I'm also really looking forward to the magnetic magic mat coming soon from SB.com.

And, I am using lots of grandkid photos, beautiful spring photos from places we’ve day-tripped to, and glorious mountain photos. What can I say? It’s a great life! 😄

I'm participating (first-timer), but we just got back from a one-week trip, so all I've been able to do is peek inside the box and watch Allison's video today. We have plans for tomorrow, but my daughter is coming over on Sunday to scrap with me. I do love Allison's project, and will probably work on that one first.

I did half of Meghann's class and 90% of Becki's. I really enjoyed them. When I showed my husband the single page layout from Meghann's class he was like "wow, I love that!". It's his favorite layout ever. When I saw it in the booklet I wasn't even sure if I wanted to do it, so I'm really glad that I did! In person it does look really cool. He loves that it used a black and white photo, and how the monochromatic color scheme really makes the photo pop.
It was really fun working with the large photos in Becki's class. I always had trouble scrapping the larger sizes so years ago I had put all of my large photos into a photo box for long-term storage with no plans to ever scrap them - but now I've changed my mind and I think I'll scrap a few.
So far so good!

I’m really loving it though I need to slow down and be okay with not getting it all done with the teaching. So far I have all of Meghan’s, almost all of Beckis (need to do the last one) and both of Virginia’s. Though phew she was quick! I had to pause a lot to catch up!
All of these were collections I wouldn’t have bought but I love the outcomes and the ideas I’m learning. It definitely helps me think of how to better use papers and embellishments since I can be so literal.

I was able to scrap along with Becki and have 3 layouts done. Those came together fairly quickly.
I'm all prepped for Meghann and Virginia and hope to do those this week.

I'm glad to hear it's layouts only. I didn't sign up bc I was tired of mini albums and yearly page protectors. May try the next one.

The classes have been excellent today! I didn’t actually finish anything but they’re all in various stages of being finished. I’m hoping to spend part of next week and into NSD working on them. My butt/back were starting to scream at me for sitting at my desk all day so I cut out after Virginia’s class. Looking forward to tomorrow!

I'm taking a dinner break atm. I forgot to set an alarm so had a pretty late start. I've completed Meghann's class and have done the first two projects in Becki's class. After dinner I plan to finish Becki's projects using the book while watching the nightly wrap up event. I'll start with Virginia's class tomorrow.
