Good morning.
Today I have a zoom con call. Then I need to do some paperwork. I'm working on an issue that has become rocket science and I have already called that company 3 times and I still don't have clarity. Then it's off to my puzzle for relaxation.
Not sure about dinner. I have a sinus infection and I hope the antibiotics will kick in, quickly. Maybe tacos?
What's on your menu?
What do you have planned today?
jeremysgirl, how are you feeling today? I hope that you're healing well.
Enjoy a happy, peaceful day, tribe.

I'm fine. I took a shower so that's good. I am not a napper normally but I took one yesterday and I feel like I need one now. healing is apparently exhausting.

It is exhausting to heal from surgery. The physical stress combined w/the anesthesia knocks you out. Nap if you need to do so. Didn't that first shower feel great?

It is exhausting to heal from surgery. Even though I don't even feel like this was a big deal. But a nap sounds so good. Ellie and Finn have the right idea.
I'm waiting for the counter guy to call. Jeremy is here today and he will deal with him. But he's going to call my phone. Then I'll nap.

I took my mom to the eye doctor first thing this morning for her annual checkup. Thankfully her prescription didn’t change drastically so no need for new glasses right now.
I’ve also vacuumed the dog, given him his vitamins, vacuumed the house, done the dishes and dusted. Now I will read for a bit.
Supposed to go for a walk with my bestie tonight and make some decisions about our trip. However, it’s freezing outside and will only get colder by tonight. I’m going to offer to go to her place so we can just talk about the trip options.
Supper tonight will be rechauffe pork chops.

Good evening, I have had a stressful day today, even though I’ve been at home all day. I think I told you how a friend and I were asked to audit the books for the family center where we both used to work. We were told it would take 3-4 hours each - we’ve worked a total of 9 hours and are about half done. Then we found out Monday that the AGM is SATURDAY and they expect a report from us, which we haven’t been told about. So we sent an email yesterday and it all hit the fan. Apparently, we totally misunderstood, and we didn’t have to check everything (really? In an audit) and other comments we made were taken as personal attacks. Upshot - we both quit and told them to find another team to do the job, and that we weren’t signing off based on what we’ve done. UGH!! I am now chilling and trying to forget it all (obviously not working yet) and getting on with my knitting while watching game shows.
DH is out for dinner tonight, so I’m trying something new for dinner before adding it to the regular menu. It’s another recipe from my favourite Asian website, Marion’s Kitchen, and is for Korean chicken and gnocchi (yeah, sounds a bit strange, but the ingredients sound good together.

No plans for today except maybe try to go out for a walk. The day is hazy right not and pollen is bad so I'm hoping it'll get better later on in the day so I can take that walk.
For dinner we are having rotisserie chicken with a baked potato.

taylortroop, I'm guessing that the dog loves the massage he gets w/the vacuum? Happy Walker, indeed. I hope you'll be able to plan a wonderful trip somewhere. The entire world is open to you. sueg, that's really infuriating. The two of you were being helpful and they were being awful is not OK. Good for you for tossing it back at them. Try and relax and let them figure it out on their own. That's the very definition of NERVE ON THEIR PART!

Ugh, just answered the phone and it was a telemarketer. First rule of thumb, don't have someone call me with a thick accent that I can't understand. I usually get a notification that it's spam but this one didn't. I'm doing laundry and chores today. Dinner will be Sloppy Joe's. sueg , that sounds a bit on the shady side. scrapmaven , hope you feel better soon!

I think I gained 5# in the past week, but I wouldn't know for sure, since DD ran off with my scale and I won’t see it again till she leaves (later today). Yesterday was crazy day. I had a CT scan scheduled, but forgot I wasn’t supposed to eat for four hours beforehand. So they sent me home and I had to return later. Then we dropped off the 15yo at his badminton game in Napa, but couldn’t stay because we had to drive 50 miles in the opposite direction to pick up my sister’s hard-to-find pain killer at the one pharmacy that had some in stock, before it closed at 6:00. We got there at 5:45. (YOU try getting out of Napa at the height of the afternoon commute.) Then we ended up with In-n-Out for dinner because I was about to die of rage if I didn’t get some food inside me. Needless to say, dinner tonight will be a salad. With beets on top. scrapmaven, hope you get your issue resolved finally. jeremysgirl, you take all the naps you need! Glad the surgery went well. sueg, hugs to you. I don’t blame you for feeling bruised and abused.

(YOU try getting out of Napa at the height of the afternoon commute.) The traffic in Napa is awful all day but especially in commute traffic. Where I used to live out Redwood Rd it was very rural. Not any longer. Of course, I lived there from late 1958-1960.

cadoodlebug UPDATE!! First, I forgot I was supposed to go to Seder (traditional Passover supper + ritual) at my son’s house tonight. I also forgot my mom wants to eat at formerly-my-friend’s Mexican restaurant for her belated birthday dinner. So I’m dumping the Seder (visiting sister will attend on her own and they’ll have to be happy with that) and taking mom out. It’s probably the only time I’ll see her this week. So much for living on salad today.

I took yesterday off since I didn't feel well. I have congestion, no fever. But I was tired and didn't want to sit in front of a computer all day. And I realized I have been very tired for about a week. I slept until 10:30 and that is VERY unusual for me since I am up every day at 5. Weekends at about 6. Apparently I needed it because today I feel more awake and clear than I have in a long time. Not sure for dinner, I have pepper that I will need to use before they go bad. So may make unstuffed peppers. jeremysgirl - glad you are not in pain and take a nap! scrapmaven - hope the antibiotics work! sueg - yeah, that sounds very fishy.

Today will be spent finishing up getting ready for my scrapbook weekend that starts tomorrow. No idea what’s for dinner. Oh, what fun! I love my scrapbook retreats but man, it seems like one minute I'm driving into Sutter Creek then I blink and am driving back home! It used to start on Friday at 2PM and end Sunday at 2. Then we talked her into Friday at 10 AM. Now it's Thursday at 10 AM. We used to share 8 foot tables and now we get our own 8 foot table. Good changes for sure!!

We are at a totally new place this time with the same crew in the same organizer. I think it’ll be a much better spot and we know the Internet will be better so that our Cricut machines can be used. I’d like to find one for the summer but not having any luck around here. So we start tomorrow at noon and scrap until 4 PM on Sunday

I'm pretty much done with work for the day so I just plan on chilling and keeping up with email/slack.
Tonight is bingo night at our local Tex-Mex place. I normally don't go because it's so crowded - we have a table of 12 with just our group - but I caved this time. Not generally a big fan of crowds and lots of noise. Maybe I'll win big and it will be worth it!

Good afternoon! Taking a break from sorting/purging/rearranging two more fabric shelves today. It's a good way to remind myself of what I have and purge things I know I won't ever use (decorator fabrics from the last redecorating).
The new toilet is nice! We ended up not removing the stained tile as it was too close to the heated floor wires. However, this toilet has a larger base and covers most of the stain. A rug will take care of the rest.
Then a big issue was discovered with the tall cabinet next to it. I noticed some rot about a month ago. Well, due to sloppy installation of the glass shower walls by the last contractor, water has been seeping under that cabinet. Underneath was full of rotted wood and mold. They have come up with a plan to cut out the lower interior to access the floor and sheetrock, repair then put it back together/repaint. The shower issue has been corrected with silicone for now. We will have that shower wall redesigned but it will be next year most likely as I am tired of bleeding money. I swear it is never ending this month!
Thankfully dinner is out tonight! It's being done by our financial advisory team and should be educational for us. Hope everyone has a great day. Now it's back to folding and sorting fabric!

DS has day off so he took me out to lunch. Very good but no need to worry about much for dinner. Their burgers are literal half pounders and with a side... We agreed, next time we shall share. jeremysgirl I know not about your surgery (been in and out of here lately like the ADHD I am... squirrel!) but know you are always in my best thoughts. It cooled down today and my cats are mad and vocalizing their dissatisfaction with me not opening the window to their catio. I swear they are like demonic little demanding toddlers. One, the female, literally reaches for door knobs and window locks to DIY the escape to the great outdoors. Thank goodness, no thumbs.

Hi friends!
Had my echocardiogram appointment this morning (reading physician said all looks good/normal for me - just the usual mild mitral valve prolapse), and I'll have an actual office visit with the NP on Friday afternoon. I need to ask her both if she wants me to have my primary care NP add EKGs to my annual physicals or get them done at their office, and mention the tachycardia the primary care office noticed. I've been tracking my heart rate on my watch, so I did screenshots of the past month or so so they can see what's going on. Granted, nothing's as accurate as something like a Holter monitor, and they may just say monitor it, but I'm nothing if not prepared.
I also got Bess some new dry food this morning, and gave her a small sampling. For being Queen of the Picky, she ate every last bite. This is huge because I've been getting up around 4 each morning to give her some new wet food, now she'll have dry food to munch on instead of bopping me on the nose and knocking my glasses off the nightstand when she's hungry. (I have no idea where she picked up that behavior, it's relatively new.)

rymeswithpurple, I'm starting a 2 week Hoelter tmw. I have done the short ones, but this time we're gonna extend. Naughty Bess. My cats know better than to wake me up for anything. They are demanding creatures and so darn cute that they get away w/everything.

scrapmaven I hope it gives you some answers! I'm not even sure if they'll have me do one, but there have been days where my heart rate is over 100 for the highest reading of the day. The resting is usually between 60 and 80, but I want to be safe. I learned my dad's dad died after a heart attack, so best to be safe. Bessie absolutely, positively gets away with everything. I have no idea where she learned this behavior. She doesn't do it to DH, just me. Sweet, silly girl. She's my tiny overlord, though, and I want her happy and healthy. jeremysgirl She's such a sweet cat, I can't complain. She's very sociable. When DH is sitting on the couch or his chair, she's almost always on his lap. If he gets up from his office chair when he's working at home, she races over to sit on. She likes sleeping on me at night.

Youngest DGS graduated from preschool this morning. He was so cute! Hard to believe my youngest grandchild will be in kindergarten. It is really cold and windy here today so I went to the gym to walk. Finally made it to the grocery store. That is a chore I never like doing. I need to finish up a birthday card for my mom. I need to have it in the mail tomorrow. sueg I am sorry you and your friend had to deal with that. Dinner is going to be porkchops and broccoli.

(I have no idea where she picked up that behavior, it's relatively new.) Our cat does this too and we did the same with buying some dry kibble. The reason she was on all wet food is that she was getting crystals in her urine with just dry food, not getting hydrated enough. We NEVER see her drinking out of a water bowl (there are 3, one for each dog and hers). I have no idea how she gets water, but the wet food seems to be the solution. Anyway, all that to say that the knocking things off my night stand and her clawing me has greatly decreased after adding in the dry food. **and she does not always NEED the dry food. That will stay untouched for a couple of days. ***and she has not has any issues with her urine.

I’m sleepy it’s cold & gray here too. No cooking we have dh’s golf club wine tasting tonight with heavy appetizers. I may eat a bowl of cereal before I go. His club’s food ideas don’t usually jive with mine. The wines are mostly from Napa. Had enamel studio this morning. I’m learning watercolors. Our kilns really aren’t low enough so my firing is off Just a process. sueg so sorry your audit turned so negative.

scrapmaven I hope you feel better soon. Pre-covid I used to get chronic sinus infections. I had a whole retinue of long term antibiotics, OTC meds, rinse, etc... jeremysgirl, I was off for a few days. I hope the recover is quick. Having had hands in a brace for months, I know how hard it is not to use your hand. The anesthesia really knocks you out on top of the stress of the surgery. Sleep is good for healing. taylortroop how does Walker react to the vacuuming. Finn doesn't like to be near it. sueg that sounds awful. Sure takes longer to audit than 3-4 hours. I used to be a section manager for an audit group. People get wound when you cite weaknesses, etc. And small run companies can be the worst, especially family run. When my dog wants something and can't get our attention he will walk to the head of the bed and stare into our face. It's quite startling to say the least. stormsts preschool celebrations are so cute. My eyelid dermatitis is back which is so uncomfortable. I walked the pupper, had an appointment than stuff to do here at home. DH has an early meeting so picked up some schwarma on the way home for a mid afternoon meal. Yum! DS was invited to Passover with my step-family (in So. CA), though they no longer do the traditional Seder, which is a shame. I would have liked him to experience it. My step-mom is the best grandmother. They are very close. I have had her longer than my own parents. She is my 2nd mom.
