I also got Bess some new dry food this morning, and gave her a small sampling. For being Queen of the Picky, she ate every last bite. This is huge because I've been getting up around 4 each morning to give her some new wet food, now she'll have dry food to munch on instead of bopping me on the nose and knocking my glasses off the nightstand when she's hungry. (I have no idea where she picked up that behavior, it's relatively new.) Our cat does this too and we did the same with buying some dry kibble. The reason she was on all wet food is that she was getting crystals in her urine with just dry food, not getting hydrated enough. We NEVER see her drinking out of a water bowl (there are 3, one for each dog and hers). I have no idea how she gets water, but the wet food seems to be the solution. Anyway, all that to say that the knocking things off my night stand and her clawing me has greatly decreased after adding in the dry food. **and she does not always NEED the dry food. That will stay untouched for a couple of days. ***and she has not has any issues with her urine. She's had dry food before, but I think we may have had a bad batch, which led to me taking her to the vet a few weeks ago since she got sick a few more times than we were comfortable with. I think she's warming up to the food. I did get her some stuff designed for senior cats, and she seems to like it. The things we do for our babies!

I am currently enjoying Day One of a four day weekend - woohoo!! Today (Thursday) is Anzac Day, which is a national public holiday in Australia and New Zealand. The company I work for (and many others across the country) asked people to take an extra day off on Friday to make it a four day weekend. We still had to have one person working, and because I worked on the last public holiday, I said that I didn't want to work tomorrow. sueg I am thinking about you as I sit here, drinking my Canberra Breakfast tea that you told me about. I don't have any Anzac biscuits in the house, so this was the next best thing! Dinner was rechauffe from MIL's Greek feast on Monday. It’s another recipe from my favourite Asian website, Marion’s Kitchen, and is for Korean chicken and gnocchi (yeah, sounds a bit strange, but the ingredients sound good together. She is my favourite too. I have made countless Marion dishes over the years, and every single one of them has been a big hit. I love how she puts an Asian twist on traditionally un-Asian dishes. I am looking forward to making again the Peanut Chilli Crisp Pork Nachos that I made a few weeks ago. It was soooooo good. I just looked up the dish you'll be making (is it the Korean Fire Chicken Gnocchi?) and it looks great. I am a sucker for anything with gochujang in it.

sueg that sounds awful. Sure takes longer to audit than 3-4 hours. I used to be a section manager for an audit group. People get wound when you cite weaknesses, etc. And small run companies can be the worst, especially family run. This is not even a small business, but a community group, run mainly by volunteers. 3 people are paid for their roles, everyone else is 'ehrenamtlich' - paid a token amount, I think what in English we'd call an 'honorarium' cadoodlebug, scrappert - I don't think it's anything shady. It is more people who are really not sure how things should be done. Last night, as WhatsApp messages flew back and forth, and my friend and I suggested that they make an outline of what is needed for future book proofers, and check what the actually guidelines are for doing so, the treasurer replied with 'are there guidelines?' I about fell off my chair! Anyway, now that we opened that can of worms, my friend and I are OUT. AussieMeg - yes, the Korean Fire Chicken Gnocchi. I liked it, DH not so much. Our favourite is her One pan Korean chicken with Rice, also with lots of gochuchang. I had to order another tub of it after cooking dinner last night, as I'd used up my first tub.
