I tried searching the boards, but was unsuccessful in my search. I’m pretty sure this has been discussed before, but does anyone know of legitimate and good work from home websites? I’m looking for some sort of accounting job — accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry or even scanning and indexing documents. I have experience in Quickbooks and Excel as well.
Any suggestions are more than welcome!

You have great skills for remote work - anything accounting-related can be easily done from home.
I would suggest searching sites like Indeed.com and Ziprecruiter and for the "location" fields, either leave it blank or type "remote." And for the search field, just type in accounting, or bookkeeping, or accountant.
There are also large CPA and consulting firms that hire remote workers to support their CPAs in data entry, and bookkeeping services. If you just google accounting/CPA/consulting companies and email resumes with a cover letter, you might be surprised at the responses. Their websites may include a link called "Careers" or "Join Us" that would allow you to upload your resume from.
If you have any specialized accounting experience, like insurance, there are recruiting firms that specialize in specific industries that usually have listings that include remote opportunities.
I have been a fully remote insurance agency accountant for four years now and still look on Indeed every so often just to see what's out there. There are hundreds of listings whenever I check.

I think Intuit has a certification program for Quickbooks which would bolster your credentials. Your experience will be the most important thing. Good luck, hope you find something that works for you.

You might want to check out Empower as they have lots of remote positions. I go on there frequently to look to see what they have. My best friend has worked for them for years. She loves it. I haven't been able to snag one with my experience yet (different from yours)

DIL got work there for about 5 years until she got a permanent work from home job.

Upwork.com is legitimate site for work from home. DIL got work there for about 5 years until she got a permanent work from home job. Upwork has interesting commercials. |

Some companies allow you to put remote as a location when you search on their site’s career page as well. Example American Express and Home Depot. I’m sure there are more, those are just two that I’m most familiar with. If you know of a larger corporation you might be interested…you could stalk their pages.
