Thank you for sharing this. My Great Great Great Grandparents were apart of the Rugby, Tennessee utopia. My 3x Great Grandfather actually painted the gold lettering on one of the main buildings in town, which is still there today.

When I was young, we went to a Shaker community that is now a museum in Kentucky. The Shakers were quite religious and the men and women were *completely* separated. They took in orphans and adults who wanted to live under their rules. It was gorgeous—beautiful green countryside as far as you could see.
