DH would love to see this.
The single most humbling event of my life was standing on that beach at Arromanche and looking back up at the cliffs. The courage it took to try and come ashore is unfathomable.

One of my coworkers just retired and he is off to Europe to tour lots of battlefields (he's a history buff). I would love to be able to tag along on that. I hope he updates his Facebook!

I was on a Saving Private Ryan Tour (went to all the places in the movie).
It was emotional to see Omaha Beach, the cliffs and the cemetery.
Our church organist fought there. He was injured and they wanted to amputate a foot. He begged them to save it as he needed his feet to play the organ. They did and he survived with a foot that works. Friends accompanied him to the 50th year celebrations.
