I finished my first week of lifting. On week 2. My eating has been terrible. I started off last week doing great. The weekend came, and it all went to hell. Lost 2 pounds, gained it right back. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week at school. I call it: Feeding Fat cells week.Sunday is Mother's Day. I will get back on track starting Monday. I totally ate the candy bar they brought by yesterday, but "luckily" I have celiac, so I can't eat most of the treats

Are you enjoying the program? I just switched from individual virtual training to the RISE program by Jason & Lauren Pak and finished week 2 today. Very much enjoying it.

Are you enjoying the program? I just switched from individual virtual training to the RISE program by Jason & Lauren Pak and finished week 2 today. Very much enjoying it. I have lifted on and off for about 20 years. We went through a change at our gym and my trainer left so I was kind of in a haze about what to do. We joined the new YMCA last September. They have an egym. It is a circuit where you go through each station twice. It adjusts to you. I was doing that and doing a group class. Then life got crazy and I didn't do anything for about 6 weeks. I am working with a trainer. She is setting up my program specific to my age and goals. She is starting me with full body workouts 3 days a week. I started easy the first week. She will be changing things up weekly. Week 2 is the exact same workouts, but instead of 10 reps - 3 rounds of each exercise, I am doing 12, 8, and 12 and going heavy on the round of 8. Today was the first day of the change. I love lifting. I didn't feel I was getting anything from the egym. I also have so many injuries and hurting body parts. My trainer is aware of this and trying to work around them. I need rehab my right elbow again. It has really been bothering me as of late.

I'm starting a 60 day detox from gluten, sugar and dairy on Monday. Eek. I'm pre-diabetic, thyroid issues, fatty liver, high blood pressure, you name it. I've been eating what I thought was pretty good and doing yoga and walking 3-5 x per week, but it's not improving. Even on Metformin.
So I've committed to 60 days hard-core diet and walking every day for an hour plus other general activity and yoga. I'm really hoping this jump starts some weight loss and better numbers for me.
Off to McDonalds before Monday -- I kid...I kid...

I did discover that I feel better when I avoid glutinous foods, and that if I ever need to be cleaned out, sour cream is very helpful... (sorry for the TMI!) 🤣

May was crazy and I didn't get back here as much as I wanted
I rolled my ankle a week and a half ago (I think) so a little less movement as I want to be able to wall the Bolder Boulder on Monday. It seems like a great time.
My exercise buddy is moving at the end of June. I will miss her motivation but I am trying to reframe it as an opportunity to try new things on my own.
Until then (and past) I'll signed up for sunrise yoga every Tuesday and Thursday.
This week will be adjusting to summer and seeing what I can do.
How are you all doing?

My weight is slowly creeping down, and I'm moving down to smaller sizes - never in my adult life have I fit into a large! LOL, part of me thinks it is vanity sizing.
I'm still feeling really tired. I'm getting my bloodwork done on Wednesday, so I'll see what my levels are.
I have an inpatient sleep study, but the first available isn't until August! The at home one from February indicated that I have mild sleep apnea, but my oxygen levels dropped disproportionately, which is why I am doing an in-person one. I've already lost 18ish pounds since the February sleep study, so I hope I'll lose even more to help with the sleep apnea.
Still need to get motivated to move my butt (and my arms!). I'm going to an arts festival and a food truck festival with my mom later today, so that will be something.

I finally hit -65 lbs! The first 50 came off in about 7 months. The last 15 have taken 4 more. Part of those months was with radiation and recovery so I am just happy to be well below 200 and feeling good in my own clothes.
I went to a farm park with my (adult) niece and her kids. When I was walking with them she took a pic of us from behind and when she posted it I didn’t recognize myself! I am wearing medium or large pants and more fitted shirts that are medium or large versus 2x or more.
I am also not afraid to do active things anymore. My life is very different now and I am very glad I started making all the changes I did before my cancer surgery that was back in December. I k ow it made a difference!!!

I’m holding at 200 even. At the end of april I began having what I now know is an autoimmune reaction to contact dermatitis. Just finished 1 of 2 weeks of high dose prednisone. The itching has finally subsided for the most part. Plus side my muscles aren’t bothering me so Im moving a lot more than usual but I’m also bloated from the meds so there’s that. We had a few special events this month and I managed to find outfits and a formal dress that I ended up looking really good in and will still be able to wear when I lose a few pounds.

Just left the doctor's office. For the first time ever as an adult, my weight at the doctor's office is below 200. I am also officially 5'9", so I am also merely overweight and not obese! 🎉
I'm at the hospital right now, waiting to get bloodwork done. Here's hoping I get some answers as to why I've been so tired.

What are your favorite healthy dishes? I'm a plain Jane person, so I eat mostly chicken and potatoes. When I want to mix things up, I add in bell peppers and onions. I have made a few Whole 30 recipes before, but I am a fan of quick and easy. I even cut my chicken up into bite sized pieces before I freeze it so it cooks faster and I don't have to cut it after I cook. Sorry I can't be of additional help!
