Hi! I'm racing against the clock, having just decided that I want to make a board book of photos of DD and her sweet DD as a gift for Mother's Day. (It's okay if it arrives a little late.) I want to be able to completely customize the pages and to add text, as little or much as I'd like.
Do you have any advice for me? TIA!

Cover the pages with layouts as you would normally do for a regular scrapbook. I might suggest that you plan the covers so you could spray them with a protective coating.
That way you could use any board book.
I made one from scratch for a baby but punched holes and used seperate 'note book' rings..

I'm looking for a custom book created by Shutterfly or ________. I have tried starting the creation process on Shutterfly but it won't let me upload pix from Google Photos... Another company said I needed to proceed via my Google account and then told me that i entered an incorrect password which I did not.

The I Can Say Mama Book: A My First Learn-to-Talk Book a.co/d/iAoZeRrThis book allows you to paste in your own photo to the first page. It isn’t as customizable or fancy but it will come in time for Mother’s Day.

Maybe try uploading via the Shutterfly app, it has been a while and I can't remember if the app process is easier. The Shutterfly computer website allows you to choose a customize option when editing the book which is pretty open ended. I've never tried adding embellishments from other sources but the do have a large selection. I prefer using the Project Life App. You are limited to grid formate for LOs but I find having limits easier on the decision making and know a few workarounds if I need them. I export my finished LOs to my camera roll/Google photos and then up load to Shutterfly to make my book. I always wanted to make a board book for my kids when they were little but it wasn't an option. Have fun!

You can do it through Shutterfly. They have a bunch of different predesigned example books where you can just drag and drop your photos or I’m sure you can completely customize one yourself. www.shutterfly.com/s/Board-book/

I think board book threw me as I think of those as being on pages with fairly thinck cardboard pages.
I have used Shutterfly quite a bit. They are not the most user friendly, but if you have time and patience, you can produce a nice book. There are others out there, but some come from China and not 199% sure about the reliability of some, so I stick with Shutterfly as I know they do a good job and I've never had an issue with them.

When I retired, I went crazy making books and kind of burned out on it, so I'll have to go browse and see if my interest resurfaces.

I enjoy watching YouTube videos as I get some great ideas for creating mini-books, journals, and customizing books. One of my favorites was customizing a Golden Book, those pretty and thin books that most of us had as kids. I made one for Christmas out of "The Night Befire Christmas" book, and it sold at the 1st craft show I went to after completing it. It was fun to make and I intend to make more of those in the future.

Thanks everyone. I have made several photo books in the past, using Shutterfly or Blurb. Love them. When I tried uploading pix to Shutterfly yesterday in order to begin creating a completely customized board book, it wasn't able to access my Google Photos, even though there's a button that's supposed to make it easy... I'll try again... and check to see if Blurb is now offering board books. keithurbanlovinpea - What did you think of the spiral binding on their board books? It has me a little leery... not sure exactly why but it seems it might be more difficult to turn the chunky pages...

What did you think of the spiral binding on their board books? It lays flat without worrying about the binding.
