Good morning.
This morning I have some pick up errands, because I need groceries. Tonight I'm going to make the Veggie turkey meatloaf that karenlou and KelleeM posted last week. Dh said it sounds so delicious. It's right up his alley. I'll make roasted red potatoes and a veggie, too.
In between groceries and cooking I'll find some time to work on my latest puzzle and rest.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today ?
Any grand plans this week? We are hoping to get a termite inspection scheduled. That sounds like great fun doesn't it?
Wishing everyone a happy, calm, easy, fulfilling week!

With less than 2 weeks before we leave on vacation, I'll continue to do errands and things to get ready. I'm doing it slowly so as to not to get overwhelmed. Dinner is up-in-the-air. A trip to Raley's is on my list.

my stupid tire pressure light came on again.. so will swing by tire store on way to goodwill, and tomorrow taking car in for work at dealership so I will have them look at it.
dh found out that when his dad died, no one transferred the main house title to his mom.. so another step to the lawyers. I think he is realizing the process will take longer than he thought.
trying to almost finish mil's scrapbook today. run by the store too
leftovers from last night takeout.. falafel and chicken kebobs.

I have no plans today but do a small load of laundry and go out for a walk before it gets hotter out there.
Dinner will be shrimp tostadas.

Happy Monday! This morning I have a dentist appointment. This is when they are supposed to start the work on my front teeth to prepare for the veneers. Dreading the pain, but have been promised drugs and happy gas. Pretty easy week otherwise so plan to get some sewing projects wrapped up and start sorting/organizing the photos and genealogy information in the guest room.
Absolutely no clue what dinner will be. It will depend on how my teeth feel. Mashed potatoes or soup possibly. Hope everyone has a good week!

Good afternoon. It is another lovely sunny day here, so I am enjoying it while it lasts - it’s supposed to swing back to cold by the weekend.
This morning I was on the phone to my doctors office as soon as they opened, as I have been having pain sort of like a UTI since Friday evening, it without the frequency problem, but with back pain. Test on arrival and then wait for doc, who tells me that she doesn’t see an infection, but I have blood, so she suspects I have a kidney stone. Did an ultrasound, but can’t see anything. I have prescription painkillers and something that reduces cramps and I have until Thursday to be better - then I will be back to her and referred to a urologist.
That was enough excitement for the day, so I came home and did some work in my planner. Now it’s past 5pm, so I am chilling out and drinking lots of water.
I don’t have a lot on this week, but this coming weekend is First Communion, so I’ll be at church most of the time and I have a few things to prepare for Saturday’s review and practice session. Wednesday is a day off here, so I’ll have DH around, so I want to get most of the preparations done tomorrow.
Dinner tonight will be spinach and cheese bratwurst on the grill, with potato salad and either caprese or green salad.

Oh, sueg , I hope that if it is a kidney stone it passes quickly and w/o too much discomfort. If it's any consolation, when dh has kidney stones they are not bad. He has a bit of discomfort when the stone moves, but is never miserable. It's just enough to let him know that he has a stone. Hopefully, your stone will pass easily. Keep drinking water. Tribe, I can tell you w/o a doubt that **GypsyGirl** , has the most beautiful eyes and her smile is pretty, too. May your appt be comfortable and may you be comfortable aterwards, as well. They'll keep you very numb, so that it's easy. ntsf , settling an estate is rocket science isn't it? What a stressor on top of the grief. I hope this is easily resolved. @bklygal62, enjoy today. I hope you can have a bit of fun, too. cadoodlebug, can you stop by and pick up all of my groceries when you go to Raleys. Thanks. I have both a Safeway and a Target pick up and I need to go to 99 Ranch. LOL. It's the exciting, but busy time before a great trip. You're gonna have so much fun.

Happy Monday!
Wow, the weekend was way too short as usual and I'm not ready to be back at work!
I went to Central Market yesterday even though I didn't really need anything. I never go there with a list because I like to see what will spark my fancy. I picked up a steak and some Beecher's Mac and Cheese which I love so that's what I'll have for dinner tonight.
Hope you all have a great day!

In between groceries and cooking I'll find some time to work on my latest puzzle and rest. This sounds like a good way to spend a day. I'm going to do some food prep after my 1pm meeting. Miracle of miracles, I tell you, my coworker actually did something last week for me that helped me out significantly. I thought I was going to have to hobble through this with one good hand and she did the whole thing. I nearly fell off my chair. This is when they are supposed to start the work on my front teeth to prepare for the veneers. Dreading the pain, but have been promised drugs and happy gas. This does not sound fun but your smile will be beautiful. This is a big ugh. I'm sorry you are hurting. I'm hurting today. But I ran to the pharmacy between meetings this morning and then did a casual stroll around JoAnn's. I found a mini iron I want. I told the craft thread, but I didn't share here that I've decided to buy myself treats with the money I'm saving by not smoking. At least for a little while, it gives me some incentive. And well, quite frankly, it's damn embarrassing. It's a constant reminder of how much money I literally lit on fire. I'm not going to quantify my smoking here because well, I'm a bit embarrassed and I know, friends, you are all cheering me on (thank you for the supportive posts) and most likely would not judge me even if I told you. But the first ten days, earned me a Grinch quilt kit. I'll be back in another week smokefree to get me that mini iron. Tonight I'm making something called "Saucy White Beans and Fennel with Pesto." I can tell from the picture it is supposed to be served with fresh bread on the side. I want to try for the 8,000,0000th time to make a successful loaf of bread. So I'm giving it another shot.

What a beautiful day today! It’s sunny and a balmy 25 degrees. A deck sitting day for sure!
The house behind us is having their roof shingles today and Walker is freaked out. He hates loud banging like thunder and fireworks. Apparently he is afraid of hammering as well. He’s hiding behind our deck chairs, whining and just can’t settle. He goes in the house and then wants back out … The workers are having a lunch break now but they’ll be back at it soon.
I need to make a trip into the city this week. I’m going to purchase some trip insurance and I want to check my cell phone provider to see about increasing my data. I can easily change my plan online but I have some discounts that I want to ensure I can keep if I change my plan.
Supper tonight will be leftover roast beef.

taylortroop poor Walker! Has he seen the men working up there to know where the noise is coming from? We just went through that. Mine was more upset though by seeing the men up there vs the noise. jeremysgirl I love your rewards program! cadoodlebug I shake my head at jeans that are so ripped but then remember when I was a kid going to the navy surplus store to find super faded jeans. **GypsyGirl** hoping your dental work goes smoothly. Today has a to do list attached and a walk. I love the reminders app on my phone. I use it for daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reminders. So even if I'm in bed and realize I forgot to do something I just add it to my reminders app. Tonight may be salmon, pasta and a roasted vegetable if we get to the store.

estate settling just is no fun.. the attorney seems to think it can be taking care of.. I think there is emotion for dh around not really feeling much grief for his mom. he has some long standing resentments.. though i'm sure he loved her too.. he knew she was miserable and unhappy at the end of her life and disliked being in a care home. and he did that. so it is very complicated and he hates doing much other than a quick visit with his aunt and sister. his aunt is being nicer in some ways.
families can be really a challenge.

One of my dogs has been limping (Jax), I was assuming it was arthritis. He's the Pitbull and gives 280% when he runs. Took him to the vet to get his shots and ask about it. Well it is a torn ligament. I feel so bad that I didn't take him in sooner. The vet said surgery for younger dogs because they bounce back quicker, but he is 8 and she said we will give pain meds and meds to keep him calm so he can heal. Cartilage will build up and he will start to put more weight on that leg. I did already see a difference in just 2 days. We are going out of town and are having someone come check on the dogs, but now I don't want to go. I know I will go, but I don't want to! It is for a wedding reception, wedding was already in some destination place. We are still waiting on our shower. Yay Not sure for dinner, I may do chicken stir fry.

Happy Monday! I have had a very busy couple of weeks. The consignment sale went well. I came home with maybe 20 items. So I was extremely happy about that. Saturday was the baby shower for my soon to be grandson. It was co-ed, that was a new thing to me. It actually was a lot of fun having my son and his other dad friends there. The weather was gorgeous and there were outside games and bbq. The baby should be all set with everything he needs. My son and dil were so happy with the quilt I made . One of my dil's mom's friends made the baby a quilt from several of her late fathers plaid shirts. That was very sweet and heartfelt. Yesterday was spent rolling my oldest son around on scaffolding and handing him supplies and he worked on the infloor heat he is installing in his new house. That was kinda fun but, my neck hurts today from looking up all day! lol Dinner tonight is baked chicken, roasted reds, and broccoli. How is your hand today jeremysgirl? Is it still stuck in the claw position?

Marina: Hmmm…. I never thought that it might be seeing the people on the roof. I assumed it was the hammering but the workers are back from lunch, got back up on the roof and Walker immediately wanted inside.

Cartilage will build up and he will start to put more weight on that leg. I did already see a difference in just 2 days. Aww... this is so sad. Our last dog, Amelia, tore both ACLs about a year apart. She did have surgery. It was very expensive, but she did really well both times. The consignment sale went well. I came home with maybe 20 items. So I was extremely happy about that. This is impressive!! I'm blown away. You must have sold all good stuff. How is your hand today jeremysgirl? Is it still stuck in the claw position? I think I was doing myself no favors by holding it in that position. So, I've been forcing myself to move it a bit. Not extreme movement, but some stretching. It's painful but not as bad as Friday. I know I overworked it on Friday.

scrappert, I'm so sorry that your sweet doggie is injured. He has a loving human mama and he'll be OK. (((HUGS))). ntsf, I wish your dh peace around this situation. jeremysgirl, no way would I judge you. I see the prices of cigarettes and I think about all of the rewards you'll be able to have. At the month long mark I vote for a big reward. This is hard and you're doing it, anyway. That takes a lot of self discipline and courage. My brave friend is extending her life. Woohoo. As for your co-worker, I nearly fell off of my chair and it has arms. Did she start doing speed? What gives? Hey, thank goodness for small things. Rest that hand. I wonder if you should call the doc and ask about PT? You don't want to keep the hand bent, cause you don't want to develop a pain condition. The Birdhouse Lady, when is baby due? The quilt w/her late father's shirts is such a treasured gift. You're gonna be such a fun and wonderful grandma.

They'll keep you very numb, so that it's easy. You are too kind! I survived 2 hrs in the chair, in large part thanks to novacaine and happy gas. Got a nice little nap in as well! They had to replace 4 fillings in the teeth getting veneers, then make/apply the temporaries. One more visit when the permanent ones come in, about 3 weeks from now. The teeth already look so much better! families can be really a challenge. The understatement of the century! I feel for what your DH is going through. It's tough but at least he has you to support him. Hope that you feel better soon sueg.

But truthfully any decent person would have done that task on my behalf. I mean you would have to be pretty terrible to not have done it. I didn't know what to expect so I was pleasantly surprised. I bought a powerball ticket, just because I thought this might be a day for miracles. I wonder if you should call the doc and ask about PT? You don't want to keep the hand bent, cause you don't want to develop a pain condition. I have already put a call into his NP. I honestly think that I overused it on Friday and then I suffered a backlash on Saturday. I'm trying to be careful and intentional with how I move it.

I just worked this morning ... the school has a reputation for being challenging but the students were fine for me ... loud, but fine. I met their teacher as I was leaving and she was thankful that I said I would come back. The principal called me a little while ago and asked me to work tomorrow ... I'm already booked ... she's putting me on their "preferred sub list" Seriously, these schools I have been subbing in have nothing on the school I taught in for four years! It's 4pm and I haven't decided on dinner ... there were coupons in my mailbox for burgers and onion rings so I might grab that! Yum!

The Birdhouse Lady what a lovely gift for your DIL, getting a quilt made from her late father's shirts. And what a lucky baby getting two special quilts. What colours / patterns is the one that you made? sueg oh dear! I hope you're not in too much pain. We went to MILs for dinner. She made nachos, chilli beans, chicken adobo, and Mexican rice. It was all very nice, especially the chicken adobo. But it's thrown my Tuesday night dinner plans into disarray..... I had invited DD over to try Marion's Asian style nachos, but now I will have to make something different. I'm not really keen on having nachos two nights in a row, even though they are quite different.

What a beautiful day today! It’s sunny and a balmy 25 degrees. A deck sitting day for sure! That sounds heavenly!! (Wait, you are talking about 25 c elcius, right? ) It's only going to be 16 here today, which is too bloody cold for my liking. And to make matters worse, our ducted heating isn't working. It wasn't too bad on the weekend, because it got to about 23. But the house feels icy this morning. Hopefully the heating will be fixed sometime this week. In the meantime, I will be living in my big thick Oodie.
