Ugh, did NO ONE grow up watching Midnight Express on cable? "Billy! Oh...Billy". Come on. Maybe they were too young but damn. How stupid and smug about your place in the world can you be?
Zero sympathy for these guys. Sorry for their families but come on.
and I too have been watching the Go Fund me with the same side eye, knowing how little attention the victims of gun violence get. It doesn't hurt that the family is pretty, wholesome looking and Instagram worthy.

When you consider that one mass shooting could all but end Turks and Caicos’ tourism industry for years, the 12 year sentence doesn’t seem as harsh. Apparently I liked this two days in a row!

Same response I had for Brittney Griner. Sucks you were stupid. Our government should exude zero effort helping this man out. Exactly! I’m leaving for Germany next week on a 5 week trip. I’ve been using medical marijuana for over 4 years to prevent my migraines (went from having 25 migraines a month to 2 a month just using the MM). Germany just legalized cannabis but it’s too early-their citizens can’t get it yet and neither can tourists. Not to mention it’s illegal to fly with cannabis. Some people have told me to take THC gummies and repackage them, but I’m not going to take the chance. It’s just not worth it to me to possibly get caught breaking the law. My plan is to take new to me Pharma drugs and hope they work. If not there are always German doctors I can go to.

To this day, 45 yrs later I remember how powerful that movie was.

Doing your homework when you travel matters. You can be fined $400 for bringing a piece of fruit into New Zealand. If you intentionally smuggle fruit it can be up to $100,000 in five years in prison. For fruit not bullets. According to the NZ government:
You're breaking the law if you fail to declare:
unintentionally by accident because you forgot because you were careless because you didn't know the rules or what was in your baggage.

A. Whatever happened to being aware of everything that was in your luggage? Aren't we always supposed to be doing that when flying? I mean, it's not like it's a difficult thing to achieve. I'm taking these 3 bags with me...I empty them fully before packing. There we go, mission accomplished.
B. When travelling to another country, it really does pay to do a little research before heading off. Newsflash, you don't even have to put in time with an actual book, or deal with a travel agent anymore----you can use that nifty phone you carry with you everywhere you go.
C. Yes, despite my obvious eyerolling at the person who did this, I do think 12 years is a lot for some stray ammunition, however that's the law for Turks & Caicos, and if you've decide to travel there and break their law, well, I'm sorry, but then this is where those choices may lead you.

This. I know I spend way too much time on Travel Fashion Girls obsessing over every inch in my suitcase and how I can better pack to make use of my space, but I cannot imagine in my wildest dreams going on a trip with something in my suitcase that I didn't know was there. Yeah, 12 years is a long time but their rules. Zero sympathy for bullet boy.
