Hi peas,
I’m cooking for my 23yo this evening and he requested a pasta dish. I eat perpetually low carb boo hoo so this is mainly for him…
My typical pasta I make is something with peas, shallots, and bacon in a cream sauce. I also do a good creamy tomato sauce with chicken (from Kevin and Amanda). I also do bolognese…
Just looking for some new ideas - I’ve gotten some really good ideas here in the past…
Thank you!

My husband made miso mac and cheese last night and it was great! I don't like mac and cheese normally, but the miso flavoring made it delicious. I don't know where the recipe came from.
I make a tomato pesto that is basically a can of tomato paste, a bunch of basil, several garlic cloves, olive oil, parmesan, and toasted pine nuts, put into a food processor, but I eyeball and taste, so I don't have a recipe for that either.

I made a note on this one that it could use a little more seasoning, but it's nice and simple. shrimp pasta

I added my absolute favourite to the recipes board: Spaghetti Calabrese. Lots of broccoli, pine nuts, garlic, parsley and crispy breadcrumbs.

i've been doing my version of the Boursin pasta recipe.
1 boursin cheese (flavor of your choice) 2 cups orzo (or pasta of choice) 2 cups chicken broth veggies (i use broccoli) protein (i use shrimp) most people use chicken shredded cheese to sprinkle on top seasonings other than salt (italian, garlic and onion powder, etc)
place boursin cheese (take off foil) in center of 9x12 baking dish. layer pasta, veggies, protein, broth, seasonings. cover with foil and bake at 375 for 30 minutes. remove foil, mix, and sprinkle with cheese. bake another 30 minutes.

Decadent lemon pasta but sounds positively delicious! I have problems with portion control so should probably steer clear!

My favorites are a toss-up between the lasagna my mom makes (also very easy to do with the noodles that you don't need to boil, though this one calls for the noodles that you usually boil but don't have to for this recipe) and Instant Pot Sausage and Shells. We swap the artichokes out for a pound of mushrooms instead.

This is a favorite of the meat eaters in our family:
Ingredients: 1 pound bulk Italian sausage 1 large sweet onion, chopped 3 garlic cloves, minced 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained 1 can (6 ounces) Italian tomato paste 1/2 cup water 2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar 2 teaspoons dried basil 1 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper Hot cooked pasta of your choice
Directions: In a large saucepan, cook the sausage, onion and garlic in oil over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. , Stir in the tomatoes, tomato paste, water, parsley, brown sugar, vinegar and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 1-1/2 hours or until flavors are blended. Serve with pasta.

Thank you everyone!
I added a bunch of these to a future list - I ended up making the creamy lemon pasta - and added grilled chicken…plus a green salad.

These are some of our favourites: Spicy Sausage Pasta - Kevin and Amanda. I use chorizo for this one, because you can't get turkey smoked sausage here. I make a pasta sauce using the ingredients in this Chicken in Basil Cream Sauce recipe by The Girl Who Ate Everything. I was never really a fan of gnocchi until I started making this: Creamy Spinach and Mushroom Gnocchi from Julia's Album I usually have this sauce on chicken schnitzel or steak, but it's great for pasta too: Creamy Miso Mushroom Sauce by Marion Grasby This is another one by Marion Grasby. If he likes garlic and a bit of heat, he will love this one: Spicy Garlic Butter LinguineI love a plain old carbonara every now and then, and sometimes I make Jamie Oliver's Chorizo Carbonara. DSO and I love the fried rosemary! My husband made miso mac and cheese last night and it was great! I don't like mac and cheese normally, but the miso flavoring made it delicious. I don't know where the recipe came from. Ooooh yes, that reminds me of yet another Marion Grasby dish that I have made: Creamy Mac & Four Cheese with MisoAnd speaking of Mac & Cheese, this is our favourite current recipe: Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese. This is not the exact recipe that I use, but it's pretty close - the one I use was on Tik Tok, and I can't find the link. I have made this so many times this year. I had the most delicious gnocchi dish at a pub two weeks in a row last year. I want to try and recreate it. It had pumpkin (butternut squash) puree as the base, then the house-made gnocchi was pan fried, with pine nuts, asparagus, broccolini, red onion, confit garlic, shaved parmesan. It was to die for! I went back to the same pub a couple of weeks ago, but it had been replaced on the menu by a capsicum gnocchi.
