Good Morning.
It's already May. I'm so looking fwd to warmer, not HOT weather and the sky being light a lot later. AussieMeg, are you doing an eyeroll right now?
Last night's dinner update: Dh liked the very veggie turkey meatloaf and thinks it will make really good rechauffe. karenlou, thank you for the recipe. I'll let you know how it goes tonight. I truly appreciate the recipe. My goodness, it certainly is healthy. Of course, the crash red potatoes that I made were not exactly healthy, but they sure looked delicious. So, dinner tonight is clearly, rechaufffe?
What's on your menu?
Today is going to be a bit tedious. First we're gonna pull some wires. Dh will be in the attic and I'll be at the wall waiting to pull cables. We have this down to a science. Then we have the termite inspection. After that, we'll likely go to a flooring store, since we couldn't find what we are looking for, yesterday. We need something to match the flooring in dh's office, but we want better quality for the rest of the house. Zzzzzz. Just a few more weeks of this project. Then it's on to the next part of the house.
What is everyone up to today?
@littmemama, I'm thinking of you today. If you are up to it, please let us know if have any news.
Wishing everyone a happy, calm day, ahead!

It is a public holiday here today, so DH has been home for most of the day. This morning, he helped one of his young work colleagues move apartments - she came here to work long term from Mexico in January (was here on a short term contract for 6 months last year) and had to move from the company provided 'settle in' apartment to her own place. As she doesn't have a car, DH helped out with some of the larger items. I spoke to DS and Sophia on Facetime - she read the book she brought home from school for reading practice to me, which was cool. Lucia was funny, she just said 'oh, hi!' before heading off to find mum. I have organised everything for 1st Communion this weekend and set it out in an obvious place, just in case something drastic happens when I go to the clinic tomorrow and they decide I need to have this thing fixed immediately. I really doubt that will happen, but better to be prepared!
Dinner tonight is going to be burgers. We have had a lovely sunny day here today, and ate lunch outside, and I expect we will do the same for dinner. DH will do the burgers on the grill, I have buns and various accompaniments for us to each build our perfect burger.

Didn't want to bump yesterday's thread, Marina, Jax is doing good. We are keeping him on the ground, except the couch that he can climb on and not have to jump on. He gets no walks anymore, just down a couple of houses and back. I have noticed that he is limping less, so that is a good sign. The drugs to keep him calm are working wonders for sure! Thank you for asking. Dinner will be rechauffe I think. I have chicken that I made last night, not stir fry because I did not have the veggies. And we have beef roast left over. It is a beautiful day here and I so wish I was not at work...but have to pay the bills somehow!

Happy Wednesday!
Its a busy day at work as we start our monthly reporting. Of course, just when we had it down, they changed the report template on us so I'm trying to fight my way through it but we have a floater in our department who I think is going to change all of the templates and we can just do the reporting. At least that's what I hope for.
I'm also downloading the new update for Disney Dreamlight Valley. Of course, it didn't come with game pass so I had to buy the game itself. It's updating now so I'll be able to play tonight.
I don't feel like cooking tonight so I think I'm going out with the parents.
Hope you all have a great day!

I made chili rice last night, so itās rechauffe tonight and for the foreseeable future. Iāll be chauffeuring sister around today. She has a return visit to the doctor and lots of errands to run. Her pain level is much improved now. Off to check yesterdayās thread, because clearly Iāve missed lots of news. Stay well, everyone.

I took the day off work today because my condo building is having a Spring Tea this afternoon and I love attending things like that ... it's ironic because it's freaking SNOWING outside! My mum is coming over later to attend the Tea with me and stay for dinner ... the people that will attend the Tea will be closer in age to her than to me so I think she will enjoy herself. We're all a bunch of old retired ladies drinking tea! Dinner will be something from Hello Fresh ... it will be salmon something because I ordered two salmon recipes for some reason.

I'm taking some tops to a seamstress to get a quote. The sleeves are all too long so I need them shortened. Hopefully they can do them before we leave next week. We're having beautiful weather but the allergies are kicking in. Dinner might be Teriyaki Chicken. Making fun of those people who post on FB that something only happens once in 837 years.

Hi all.
Miss Bess does have some intestinal thickening, which could be IBD or lymphoma. We were given the options of biopsies, Prednisone, or trying a new food. We are going to do Prednisone and new food. We don't want to put her through the stresses of a biopsy. They'll also give her a cortisone shot before we pick her up tonight. Hopefully all of this will help her.

I love Wednesday's. I take off every Wednesday now until December. It is a beautiful day here. 75F and sunny. The warmer the better for me. I was on the hunt this morning for a new butterfly bush. Didn't find one. Guess I better find some time to head to Indianapolis to a nursery down there. Found out last night we are watching the four DGS's Friday-Tuesday. DS has another business trip and he asked his wife to go. It is a fairly quiet weekend for them sports wise which I am thankful for. taylortroop you were mentioning in yesterday's thread that you are looking for a rain coat. I just purchased one and I love it. I don't know how to link but I purchased it off Amazon. The brand is BLoggerlove. I bought the yellow and it is blue and white striped on the inside. I have received so many compliments on it. Wearing it cheers me up even on a rainy day. I am to take a walk then going to work on some cards. Dinner is going to be baked pizza sandwich.

got up and got my reservation to enter mt rainier national park when we are camping nearby in august. I was hoping it opened at 7 am but it was 8 am. then drove down and got my car.. it actually feels different since it was frontend repairs.
they are surveying outside my house today.. talking about putting in curb cuts. we are afraid we will lose the two street parking slots in front of our house. we live on a steep hill too.
dd is digging through the piles of her stuff.. what to keep and what not.
making pancakes for lunch with strawberries. or that may be dinner. trying to use up everything in the fidge.
packing today and will leave super early tomorrow morning. so it maybe radio silence for a few days.

stormsts: Thanks for the rain jacket suggestion. I honestly never thought about Amazon. I have one that I could take but since Iāve lost weight, itās big and hangs on me. The positive is that I could wear a hoodie under it if needed. Iām looking for a shorter one though so Iāll take a look at Amazon. DH and I did a 25 km bike ride this morning and then stopped for lunch in the way home. It was only supposed to be 16 degrees today but itās already 24 and climbing. The library called and they had the latest Danielle Steel book for me so Iāve picked it up and will spend some time on the deck this afternoon. Supper will be a fend for yourself night. Iāll probably have tuna in a bagel or something else easy.

Mom hasn't been feeling well so I took her to the dr. this morning. Turns out she has a stomach virus and dehydration. She's staying here with me until my sister picks her up later on tonight.
For dinner I am having rotisserie chicken and hubby is having sushi.

@taylotroop I have a short Eddie Bauer and mid thigh length NorthFace raincoat. Both have hoods. I didnāt see all the comments yesterday so I donāt know what you need it for. I feel like I need to try the turkey meat loaf this week. I need something different. I worked on the landscape around our new patio wall after jewelry. Then we came to the lake so I could work on the living retaining wall. Dh has a client dinner north of here tomorrow. His client is just the nicest person. His wife not so much. She literally will sit with her back to me and Never address me. Even when I speak directly to her. Dh finally noticed how bad she is so he said Iām busy. Heās noticed her doing it to other women also. Weirdest thing. I just wanted to relax on my patio in peace tonight but someone is power washing what sounds to be the whole block. I have noticed yellow jackets buzzing all over again. Does anyone have tick prevention remedies for the yard. At home dh & I have had ticks on us the last 2 nights. My dog takes prescription meds to prevent them. I made a salad for the dominoās pizza we picked up. Itās the only thing here. Itās not bad if you love dough. scrapmaven I donāt know what flooring you picked but we unfortunately have LPV. I donāt love it. And itās in our whole first floor. ntsf exciting youāre booking your park entry. Dh has a trip to New Mexico in September so I need to research parks there. Weāve not been to that state.

I mean The Birdhouse Lady your quilt is gorgeous!! What a great gift. I love the colours, and the animals are soooo cute. cadoodlebug your meme reminds me of those silly posts that I often see on Facebook..... "This year is the first time in one thousand years that there will be five Sundays in March, and it won't happen again until the year 3035!" Except it happened last year and will happen again next year, and the year after and the year after that, so.... Dinner was chicken fried rice that DSO picked up from the takeaway shop next to the supermarket. Nice and easy!

teddyw , we're doing LVP flooring. Oops. We have it in a couple of rooms and we like it, so far. We never made it to the floor store today, because we spent so much time w/the termite guy. So, we'll go tmw. Meanwhile, we have a pretty solid termite issue. So, next week we're going to be the circus tent in our neighborhood. Lucky us. I will be spending the weekend bagging food and meds and anything we can ingest. At least we don't have houseplants. What a drag. We get to take two very meowing pussycats on a short road trip to mil's house. Dogs like the car, because they get to go to the dog park. On the other hand, cats know that there's only one place you go in the car and when you get there they take your temperature!!!!! Yay. Road trips w/cats. EEK! I'm sorry about Miss Bess rymeswithpurple . I completely understand not wanting to spend a fortune that you do not have on an elderly cat. Just keep her comfy and loved. The Birdhouse Lady , that's a really beautiful quilt.

So, next week we're going to be the circus tent in our neighborhood. The minute a tent goes up in a neighborhood, most people think the owners are selling! Spread the word that y'all are being pro-active.
