We are flying out tomorrow, and DH thought we had access to the Delta Sky Club waiting area because we have 1st class tickets (cause ya know we are just 1st class type people HAHAHA) it appears you have to have an American Express Card, but further Googling shows you don't have to. I guess we could just show up and if they let us fine, if not fine. We were interested because it looks like they have a nice free breakfast we can eat before the flight. And yeah, it would be fun to say we can do it.. lol... Anyways, anyone know.. there are so many rules, I am thinking we are still not high class enough..

These are directly from Delta's website. It sounds like you should be able to, so you could ask. The worst they can say is no!
- The Delta SkyMiles Platinum and Platinum Business American Express Cards will no longer provide Card Members with Club Access effective January 1, 2024. - Effective January 1, 2024, all customers traveling with Basic Economy tickets (or similar "light" or "basic" tickets on a Delta partner flight) will not have access to the Delta Sky Club. - Beginning January 1, 2023, annual Memberships (including renewals) to Delta Sky Club are available for purchase only by Medallion Members of the Delta SkyMiles Program. Customers who are not Medallion Members may still access Delta Sky Club with another qualifying credential. See Access & Policies for additional details. - Effective February 2, 2023, Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion Members flying internationally in Main Cabin or Delta Comfort+ will no longer receive Club access, unless they have access through a different entry method (such as a Delta Sky Club Membership). - Delta Sky Club Members* can only use the Club in conjunction with same-day ticketed air travel on Delta or its partner airlines. - Entry is permitted 3 hours prior to your departure time (this policy does not apply to flight delays or layovers). - Valid Delta Sky Club Membership, qualifying same-day boarding pass or other required credentials. (Only one credential may be used for Club access.) See Access & Policies for additional details. - Valid Membership credentials can be found in the My Wallet section of the Fly Delta App. - Individuals must be at least 18 years of age for Club Membership to access without a responsible, supervising adult. Individuals must be 21 years of age to access Clubs with a self-service bar. Local age restrictions apply in non-US locations. - Member must have access to the Delta concourse with a qualifying same-day boarding pass in order to use the Club at that location. No gate passes will be issued. - Delta reserves the right to refuse admittance to anyone who interferes with the business-like atmosphere of the Delta Sky Club or appears to be intoxicated. - Attire while in a Delta Sky Club must be in keeping with good taste and a dignified atmosphere. - Delta reserves the right to terminate any Membership or remove any Member or visitor for inappropriate conduct, including but not limited to conduct that’s undignified, disruptive, abusive or violent, or for failing to comply with Membership terms and conditions. - Delta Sky Club Members no longer have access to Air France or KLM Crown lounges; or VS lounges. - Airline, airport and industry employees are not permitted access while in uniform or while wearing Delta branded apparel or company/airport identification badge (this includes employees of other airlines, private and corporate aircraft, and charter carriers).

As a first class passenger, you should have access to the Sky Club. They are also open to people with certain American Ex. cards, so that might be where your confusion is.
Happy flying! Have a great trip!

First Class will get you access to Sky Club. If the timing is right for your meals, take advantage of the free food. Many drinks are free as well. I like to bring a couple $1 bills to tip the bar keeper.
Which airport? I’ve been in a lot of their lounges.

I don't normally fly first class because it feels like a waste of money (I can suffer a lot to save hundreds, I'm just going to take a Xanax and cover my head and listen to something anyway), but I have to say the Sky Club was a nice change from the usual shenanigans one endures in an airport. When we flew to Mexico a couple years ago we went 1st class bc my husband had an upgrade (he travels a fair amount for work). This was in Atlanta.

I've flown twice on Delta first class internationally, and both times had access to the lounge. I don't usually fly with them, and don't have either an Amex or their card.
Enjoy the food and drinks! The lounge here in Boston has two sides to it, one is much nicer than the other (more comfy seating and generally quieter...) it's just not the area where the food and bar are located. I only found it because I had a business call come in that I had to take and was wandering looking for a quieter place. In retrospect, it wasn't so hidden- it's just that I didn't look over there hahahha

We flew first class to Italy last year and we were able to use the Delta Sky Club. Dh loved it because of the food. It was nice but my favorite thing was the very nice, clean and quiet restrooms.

If there are any issues with your flight, they have staff in the sky club who will take great care of you. I’ve used their expertise a few times and it’s like they put their nicest and most helpful people on staff there.
You can get your fancy coffee from the espresso machine to go, too.
It’s a nice place to wait for your flight.

I have the card that gets me in, and it is well worth it to me, especially since I rarely fly first class. The quiet, the relaxed atmosphere, the food. I think the best one for us was the one in LAX a couple of years ago. We had three legs and a long layover, and the LAX club had showers. After a red-eye flight, that was heaven. Enjoy the club!

We normally never did, but the last time we flew somewhere it ended up only being a little more expensive once the added fees for checked luggage, etc. was added on. My DH is a big guy and he hates—HATES!!!—being crammed into an economy seat even if it’s on an aisle so he was the deciding factor. For us it was well worth it to be able to skip all the long lines and waiting for security and boarding. It’s just so much nicer. I wasn’t aware that we could utilize the Sky Club with first class tickets or we definitely would have! Good to know for next time (if there ever is a next time, DH isn’t too keen on traveling in general).

Although I doubt we will have any long wait times in security.. we leave soooooo early in the morning. blah.

Some airports let first class passengers go through the faster priority line, if it is open. For instance, we sometimes get priority status when we fly Southwest to Vegas. In San Diego, we can get in the priority line, but Vegas rarely has their priority line open so it doesn’t matter.

There are special lines for checking in/bag drop and TSA plus they are in one of the earliest boarding groups.

After we took that last flight first class as a family, DH said that will be the only way we will fly from now on. Once you add in the extra expense to an economy ticket for checked bags, meals at the airport, drinks, etc. the cost to fly first class isn’t that much more and all of that is included. It was SO worth it to sail right past that huge long line to check in, and then to get to board the plane and get off the plane first, skipping those lines too. 😎

We don’t travel as much as we used to so we can splurge a little on the flights.

JFK will have two options for you. One lounge near B31 and one near A7. The A7 lounge is newer, but either will be fine…just what’s closest to your gate.
I haven’t flown thru Denver.

It was a big fat nope… 😥🤣 WHAT?! I am truly surprised!! Who told you no? One time we asked because the girl didn’t say anything, and the girl had to recheck our tickets and she said she made a mistake and that we could.

Unless your flight was a Delta One flight (premium Business Class) your domestic first class ticket would not have given you entrance to Sky Club. Delta One flights are mostly international. United has a similar policy with their Polaris product. Delta Sky Club Access

One time we asked because the girl didn’t say anything, and the girl had to recheck our tickets and she said she made a mistake and that we could. The ticket agent told us no. We leave tomorrow so maybe we will just try it. We will be at the airport for quite awhile. There is a huge race here tomorrow and it may take forever to get out of the city. I want to see the TWA Hotel too, so once we check out we will wrap it up.and head out.

If you go in the Delta app, there a section for Delta Sky Club and you can check eligibility based on ticket type, status or things such as status given as a credit card perk, etc.
