Do you have a favorite foundation you like to donate to? Our Company participates in the annual Big Day of Giving, matching employee contributions up to $1000 (in total -for 16 people). Not super generous match but some non-the-less.
I'm always left wondering what to select. I've had breast cancer and my sister-in-law died from brain cancer (glioblastoma). I've supported Susan G. Komen in the past but heard rumblings of issues lately. There are several breast cancer foundations that pop up local to me but I don't know anything about them.
What foundations do you like to support?

one of my newer contributions is to a local group called "help a mother out".. they provide diapers to low income women. these are essential for day care and other times.
I also give to Girl Scout camps and to international rescue committee and to doctors without borders.

The company my husband works for does what they call Gift Match. So any donation above £50 up to a certain figure (not sure what) that the employee gives, they will match it. There is also a foundation called the Big Give. Every year they invite people to donate to it, and charities apply to it and are allocated a figure. If the charity can raise that figure for themselves, the Big Give will match it out of their pot. Add Gift Aid which is a tax return from the government, and every £1 donation can raise £3.25 to the charity.
I'm in the UK so our charities are different, but we support Rett UK for my cousin who has Rett syndrome, and Macmillan and Penny Brohn which are cancer charities. They have given and are still giving me amazing support with/after both my cancers.

Animal related charities. Especially the ones that help aging animals.

I donate to my local emergency services organization every month. They have a food shelf, Meals on Wheels, and help with other things like rent and bus passes.
I randomly donate to other organizations.

Not money but I keep an eye on the Amazon store for our city's animal shelter and buy an item once a month. Pet food, cleaning supplies, beds, etc. what ever the urgent need is.

So many, but World Central Kitchen is currently at the top of my list. Local and national food banks. We send $$ in lieu of tanglible goods because they can purchase foods at discounted rates and stretch our dollars much further.

While any not out of date donationis good ( please don’t give us the one off condiments you bought and don’t know what to do with cause no storage) your money will really go farther in own hands than it ever could in yours.
