A long time ago like 25 years ago, I bought this lightweight wooden beach chair that would literally strap to my back (I was just 2 pieces - one piece was directly on the sand)
and I could carry it to the beach. It was from Crate and Barrell I’m pretty sure.
Has anyone seen anything like that?
I know there are metal Tommy Bahama chairs that you can wear as a backpack I don’t mean like that I mean very lightweight but also not like a fold up camping chair. I’ll be moving a couple blocks from the beach and I need this product again!

Wooden beach chairI know exactly what you are talking about but haven’t seen them around in a long time. How about something like what I linked. Unfortunately it looks like it only has a solder strap not a back pack and it does sit off the sand.

It’s not necessarily for the beach, but REI has a lot of very lightweight aluminum chairs. DH has a small stool type chair that he uses for longer trips when they have to carry in their gear and it still looks brand new. www.rei.com/search?q=Beach+chair |
