I was 10, and I remember everyone watching it. It didn't scare me, since it was a show you watched as a family. Those were the times when there was a new horror flick every other week, and we watched a lot of them at slumber parties then tried to scare each other.

I'm a big sci-fi fan and have the V stuff on DVD. The special affects were top notch when that first aired. Didn't like the remake, rebooted whatever the hell that V wannabe show was. I didn't even make it through season 1.

The reveal of Bob hiding behind the bed in Twin Peaks was (and still is) the scariest moment on tv I can think of. OMG just reading this I know exactly what you are talking about and this always freaked me out as well. I really loved that show even though it was so weird. Bob always gave me the creeps! I loved V and loved the book. The series wasn't all that great, but the original was great at the time. I never saw The Day After, but now I want to see it.

The Day After.. I absolutely remember watching it. I was in high school at the time. I think a sophomore. It was crazy all the attention the movie was getting. It was in the days of mini-series which I loved to watch. Funny thing is a few years later I was dating a guy who was in the movie. He was going to college at KU (Kansas University) where a lot of the scenes were shot. He played one of the dead people in the gym scene.
Edited to add.. I guess I remember watching V but I can't really recall much of it. Weird. I also watched the new version.
