Loved the Bobbsey Twins, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys books, mostly from the library. Also loved and reread Walter Farley’s Black Stallion series. Lifetime avid reader raised by two avid readers.

My favorite Christmas memory is the year I received my first 3 hardcover Nancy Drew books. I read them nonstop over our school break.
It's interesting this topic came up. I have a box of ND books I don't know what to do with. I don't have the built in shelving I had at my old house. My original books are long gone. These are books I picked up at flea markets, antique shops, etc. I also have some collectible reprinted editions. They haven't been out of the box since I moved 2 years ago. My kids/grandkids have zero interest in them. I'll have to think about it some more.

I never read Nancy Drew but I was a voracious reader also. I, too, used to walk a few blocks to a huge pine tree with strong limbs and climb up to read.

Hey, no one’s mentioned Trixie Belden. I read a few of hers. Anyone else? Another Trixie Belden fan here! I first found some of my mom’s copies at my grandma‘s house when I was a kid. I then added to the collection. I even tried to complete my collection a few years ago from buying copies on eBay. I also went down the rabbit hole of Trixie Belden fan fiction online (reading, not writing). I love her!

Ahhh, fond memories of walking into Kiddie Korner on Lane Avenue. Bikes along the right wall, dolls on the wall and in a case on the left. Nancy Drew books on back left wall. I would always go there first and look at the line of ND books. Would they have a new one? It was always a great surprise! Then on to Ginnie Dolls and later Barbie Dolls. A new Barbie outfit? A new hair color? What a wonderful world it was…

That would be my first stop vs. donating to Goodwill or somewhere similar.

I read and re-read my Nancy Drew books. And never fear - they are for adults, too. My dad read every one of them once I was finished with it. We are both big readers and passed books back and forth all the time.

I adored Nancy Drew! I had most of them in hardcover. I have gone back and re-read a few here and there in adulthood.

I loved Nancy Drew and read each one more times than I can count. Also got hooked on Sue Barton (nurse)and Cherry Ames ~ also a nurse. I loved all of these, too! My mom was a nurse, and I loved thinking of her having all those adventures. I loved Sue Barton but haven't been able to find her books anywhere. I could spend hours reading them and that is part of the reason that I'm a nurse today.

I was a Bobbsey Twins fan! I read every one our local library had at least 3 times!!
But the book I really read the most was Heidi. I had bought it at the school's Scholastic Book Fair and boy I loved that book!

Hey, no one’s mentioned Trixie Belden. I read a few of hers. Anyone else? I loved Trixie Belden. At one time I had almost the entire series but my mom most of thrown them out bc they disappeared. They were already out of print when I was a reading them 30+ years ago so I bout them from used book stores. I have found a few of them to purchase on kindle. I also read Bobbsey Twins, Nancy Drew, Cherry Ames and I think every other series mentioned here. I read anything and everything as a kid.

My local library currently has a display of Nancy Drew and Bobbsey Twins books right now. I loved looking at all the titles and remembering the happy hours I spent reading those wonderful books.
