I am looking at buying a e-bike. I am thinking a folding bike just because I like the smaller tires . We spend a lot of time in the summer at our park model trailer. The walk to the beach is about 10 minutes. With my chronic sciatica , it’s becoming more difficult to walk back and forth. Also a couple of my friends live about 5 min walk away. I hate walking down to their place just to turn around and walk back. I don’t want to text them every time to see if there up or at the beach . Love to hear your thoughts

Where would you park at the beach? Ask your friends IF they mind if you text them to ask.

Revirdsuba99, we usually sit on the grass under a tree so lots of spots without going on the sand

I really want one.
My hairdresser had hers explode and their house had to be gutted and rebuilt from the fire. There was a battery issue.
My dad’s friend has one and he rides all over the place.
DDIL is getting one this summer she said. She wants to ride it to work.

DH and I have electric bikes and we love them. Ours look like regular bikes, not fat tires. We pedal all the time but the pedalling assisted as much as you want. You can also use the throttle if you need assistance with a hill, etc. We rode last week on our local trail system and did 25 km with no issues. DH had double bypass surgery in October and he rides his bike with ease. DH keeps our batteries in a steel box in our garage so there shouldn’t be an issue with a fire.

Would you have to chain the bike up while at the beach because of theft? Otherwise, I'd go for it. Sounds like fun.

DH and I have them, and my sister and BIL have them. We LOVE them.
I wouldn't ever leave mine without locking it up.

I agree , I would never it without someone with it. We are in a private park . The place is not huge and is gated . The beach area s not large . There are only family’s that have park model homes - maybe 150. Not everyone uses this area . 9 times out of 10 I am with friends when I am there . I not worried about someone taking it when I am down near the lake soaking up the sun . When I am back to my trailer it will be locked in the shed without the battery .
My question was more about getting a e-bike for transportation around the park

I absolutely love my E-bike , I did 35 miles this morning I am 60 years and not very athletic but a good e-bike makes all the difference. Look at the Aventon brand they stand behind their bike and give you two years warranty, we are very happy with ours .

DH has been looking at them. He wants to rent them to see if we would like them. Unfortunately there isn’t anywhere to ride them here but the beach is a different story. I don’t think we need them until we get the beach house.

We have Lectric brand...the 2.0 version. We've had them for about 2 years now and love them! Black Friday special was an affordable price with an accessory package thrown in the deal. We've been completely satisfied with and would buy them again if needed.

We seriously considered the Rad brand of Ebikes as well.....Black Friday deals and price of Lectric Brand won out.

Rad bike battery is known to cause a fire . Least that’s what I read. The other hard part happening is that I want to try them out before buying. None of the bike stores near me carry more than one brand. Brand loyalty I guess. I am in Canada and many of the bikes from the U.S. have taxes and duty . Plus the exchange sucks. I am trying to stay under$2000. I am 67 , not sure I need a bike that will last 10 years, but who knows!
