Hi everyone! I'm leaving soon to meet my mum for breakfast at Denny's!  Then I'm meeting up with one of my teacher friends ... we usually spend the entire time we are together complaining about teaching ... he's got lot's to complain about, me not as much anymore! I'm going Speed Dating this evening with my girlfriend! I'm really looking forward to it because online dating right now is a total bust ... You spend seven minutes with each guy and if you both show interest the organizers give you their information ... It could be a bunch of losers like I get online or it could be some decent people ... we'll see! This is what I posted on Facebook today:  They are serving appetizers at the venue so that will be my dinner ... What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody! |

Happy Sunday everyone.
First Communion is done! It all went well - the children were wonderful and behaved beautifully. I am now totally shattered - I feel like I could sleep all week.
Dinner tonight is pork fillet. I am not sure how it will be prepared and I don’t really care, just serve it up to me!

Happy Sunday!
After a day and a half with the grandsons, I am beat. Between Friday evening and yesterday we had 5 soccer games, 1 baseball game then we went to the granddaughters dance recital last night. And that is with only 3 of the 4 grandsons. We don't get the oldest until sometime today after his out of state soccer tourney. Today is going to be pretty low key.
DH is out mowing the yard. The boys are playing outside and I am cleaning up the house.
I'm thinking dinner will be chicken on the grill. For some reason I have been craving chicken lately.

Congratulations on such a well done 1st communion, sueg . IMHO, the children had a great teacher. In honor of Cinco de Mayo dh is having Gyoza and steamed rice. Ta-da.  He's determined to clean out the freezer a bit, so that it'll be easier to bag. If we weren't bagging up the kitchen I would have made enchiladas or carnitas. I developed a migraine, probably from the spray they did in our crawl space the other day. My meds are only working for a couple hours. So, I might go get a shot. I hope it doesn't go there, but I have so much to do right now. leannec , you must tell us how speed dating went. Have fun w/it and I'm sure you'll have some funny stories to share w/us tmw. Though I'm hoping that a really great guy is there for you. Have a fun, relaxing, happy day, my tribe. AussieMeg , have an easy, happy Monday. |

The friends he was going to go with bailed (their spouses wanted to go out to dinner) so he went alone. I am so stinking proud of him for doing that. He had a great time and he's glad he went. He said a lot of people told him to tell me hi. I'm sure it's the band kids since since they voted me their mom away from home their senior year. Biggest honor of my life! I loved those kids.  Dinner will be Tri-tip! A day late  |

I'm doing some cleaning and puttering around the house this morning. I'm volunteering at a food packaging event this afternoon at the local high school. Should be fun and interesting.
I'm making spaghetti in the instant pot this evening and my parents will probably come over.

I went to the grocery store this morning and the temp was 22 degrees. I got home about 45 mins later and the temp had dropped to 12 degrees!
DH had a blast yesterday doing the Poker Run. He didn’t win anything but got lots of riding in and had some social time with his buddies. I survived spending the day with the grandboys. I love seeing them but I was happy to come home and chill on the couch in front of the tv.
Supper tonight is Mac and cheese with some leftover steak mixed in.

Hi friends! Our go-to dinner for tonight: fish, rice, and a veggie. We went to Fredericksburg for a few hours yesterday, and DH pointed out a dress in a shop. Y'all, I hit the freaking jackpot when I married DH. I LOVE him and this dress and it has POCKETS!  |

DS went to his 20th class reunion last night. The friends he was going to go with bailed (their spouses wanted to go out to dinner) so he went alone. I am so stinking proud of him for doing that. Okay, weird..... so the wives knew that their husbands had a school reunion, but decided they wanted to go to dinner? And the men said "Okay dear, we'll go to dinner instead." Are the wives jealous little things who don't trust their husbands to be around their high school girlfriends? Or did the men just want to get out of going? And why am I so annoyed / invested in this?  I'm glad your son went on his own, and had a good time. DD and her partner came over for dinner. My football team was playing her football team. We were going to go to the match, but I couldn't be bothered. My team has played three 4pm Sunday games in a row, and it's such a crappy time. So we watched it on TV instead. I was excited to make Marion's Peanut Chilli Crisp Pork Nachos again, because I knew they would love it. But I was trying to do too much all at once, and I ended up burning the nachos because I left them under the grill too long. We had to pull the top layer off, and it just wasn't good. I also did fried wontons and gyoza, and made a Spicy Peanut Sauce to go with them, with some store bought fried rice. |

Their kids call DS Uncle DS. They go on vacations together. They just decided they didn't really care about going. I'm sure once DS tells them all the people that were there, they will be sorry they missed it! ETA: they didn't tell him they weren't going the day of the reunion, they told him a few days ahead of time. |

I’ve already told my DD’s this grandma will miss cold weather sports or leave early. I hate being cold Cold & wet is even worse. Ice hockey will always be a no for me. Dd2 married a Canadian so their kids have no choice she’s been told. 😂 I only have 1 grandson who’s 2 so I have a little time. Although dd really wants him to do swim lessons again. Every school in town requires an adult in the pool with any child under 3. He can’t go in the morning they both work. I’m out when it comes to swimming too. I’ll do it for fun but not those circumstances. I sound like such a baby. We started the day off at the zoo when it opened. All 3 DDs and Luke. Came to my house for nap. He ends up vomitting in the bed. Then all over dd. They both bathed & went home. He’s still not well. Dd3 went home to Michigan. We were supposed to have family dinner. I bought enough pork tenderloin for an army. Froze a lot. Only dd2 stayed. Her dh wouldn’t come in case there were germs. So we also had roasted potatoes, cauliflower & stuffed squash blossoms. I hope you met some nice people tonight leannec. If not I hope you get a good story or laugh. cadoodlebug good for your son for still going. Even better he had fun. |

Today is Children’s Day and we celebrated that with sushi. DS and DDIL are in the Old Country speaking or trying to speak the Old Language unsuccessfully. They are having a blast!

leannec hope you had fun at your speed dating. cadoodlebug band kids are great as are the moms who volunteered! That's nice they remembered you. We have fond memories of the band days. DS almost majored in music. Tonight we had rechauffe.
