Good morning.
Well, I'm in much better spirits today. It's still going to be way too busy w/more bagging and then we have to do silly stuff like leave all cabinets and drawers open. I have to get cat stuff ready for their road trip tmw.
Dinner will be TJ's bbq teryiaki chicken, steamed rice and salad.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
Our wonderful @jeremeysgirl will not be joining us for a bit. She is staying off of social media, message board, etc. in order to take care of herself. She's fine, just doing great self care, as always. I wish her the best and hopes that she enjoys her time off.
May today bring happiness, calm and a good news for all!

Glad that jeremysgirl is taking care of herself. I'm running errands this morning along with a chiropractic appointment. Spaghetti with meatballs will be dinner.

Good Morning! I am in a better mood as well scrapmaven. Pity party is over! Currently it is storming here. Supposed to be this way most of the day. I am hoping all the boys practices will be canceled. We need just an evening at home. DDIL is flying home today but the first leg of her flight has been canceled. DS was able to get her on another flight but it will get in way later than the original. I need to get to the nursery and get my annuals so I can get them planted. I have probably already waited too long to get some of what I want. Good for jeremysgirl. I hope she enjoys her time away. I was not planning on fixing dinner. DH and I were going out. That has changed now that we will still have the boys.

Good morning! Up a bit early this morning and about to head out for a Costco/HEB run. This afternoon the sound/security system team will be here to work on the entire system. The storm last Friday caused a huge surge that killed the surge protector box. The equipment seems to be fine, but the box has to be replaced and the system checked over. DH has decided to come home for that so I should be able to squirrel away in my sewing room for that. Wishing jeremysgirl well as she takes her social media break. I think those are great for everyone to take once in a while. Update on the state of my garden and the fruits of my labor! We are really enjoying having the raised bed gardens. Our first harvest was this past weekend from the okra (only 2 plants). They were part of dinner on Sunday night! Behold...my $5,000 okra!!! It was good though! We currently have 1 tomato on the vines and several peppers as well. Hopefully the cost per meal will decrease soon! Dinner will be more veggies/salad and whatever protein appeals to me at HEB. Hoping for some nice fish.

Happy that Tuesday is a much better day! It is storming here too, lots of heavy rain and thunder. Great day to be home but here I am...working. Not sure for dinner tonight. We will see what the 2 at home come up with. Will be thinking of jeremysgirl. She will be missed while she is away.

Happy Tuesday!
I'm finishing out reports for work and it's been tedious so far. I'm hoping I can get them done this morning and then just take it easy this afternoon.
Dinner tonight will be steak and mac and cheese. I put in a big grocery order yesterday so I'm hoping that will keep me through the week.
Hope you all have a great day!

A bit cooler today, but no rain so far. I’ve just had a normal day - shopping, a walk, some knitting and another video of my Colour Play online class. DH is still away, so another dinner for one. Tonight it is gnocchi with pesto of some variety.

stormsts, I'm glad that today is brighter for you, too. **GypsyGirl**, my favorite produce section is in the garden. Isn't it great to be able to go out back and pick fresh veggies for dinner?

Always miss jeremysgirl when she takes a break. Hope she enjoys her time away, but I’ll be happy when she returns. Dinner will be, you guessed it, tomatillo pork. I’ll make a fresh batch of mashed potatoes because I gave my sister most of the first batch and I want some to send home with the gentleman friend. Or maybe just pizza, who knows. — well, DS just called while I was typing and wants to go out for lunch. So dinner will not be pizza.

I'm home from work again today ... love retirement! I took the day off because my bottles and cans and some clothing to be donated are all being picked up today ... I hate taking that stuff myself so I get someone else to do it! It's rainy here today so I don't have much motivation to do much of anything else ... Dinner is up in the air ... maybe something from the freezer ...

My plans for the day; 1.stay home, no wandering off. 2. Get sh!t done. Rainy, stormy day may make things true but also making me feel especially lazy. Probably just stick to the #1. But it's early.
Got drumsticks out to make in air fryer and simple dinner later.
Unless I break both 1 and 2 above and wander off and eat elsewhere. I'm fickle it seems. 😉

I am moving a bit slow today. I did a lot of raking yesterday and my neck hurt which has turned into a headache. I should get me one of those lawn boys! My friend did volunteer her son but, I kinda like doing it myself. I enjoy the fresh air and exercise after being cooped up all winter in the house. We are going to be replacing our flooring. It's been in the planning stages for a few years. The thought of having to move all the furniture was what had me stalled. I really want to replace our fireplace hearth tile. That will be another big undertaking. I woke up today thinking about painting it and maybe doing a simple stencil. Am I crazy?? I've seen a lot of diy'ers do it online. Dinner tonight is skirt steak, a potato medley with gouda and thyme and either salad or the fresh corn I picked up at the market.

It’s beautiful here right now but like some of you, we are expecting thunderstorms later today. DH and I are sitting on the deck enjoying the good weather while it lasts.
I had my dr appt today. All my bloodwork was great - A1C s holding steady at 5.6. Dr was very happy with the numbers. She did however recommend a colonoscopy. Yikes! All I’ve heard are horror stories (no one tells you the good stuff) about this test so definitely not looking forward to it. I will hear from the hospital about the date. We also talked about my chest discomfort. She assured me that it’s not my heart because I had all the testing a few months ago and the cardiologist told me “my heart is perfect, go live my life.” After my self diagnosis of it being anxiety related, she agreed with me. I didn’t want any meds and she’s sure I can control it with regular exercise, sufficient sleep and breathing exercises.
It’s so frustrating because prior to retirement, I was the Manager of a major recreational centre and responsible for the entire operation. I never had anxiety. Now I’m retired, living a casual lifestyle, have a wonderful family and I worry about everything. WTH??
Supper is pulled pork poutine.

The scraping and sanding of the house continues...and will for probably the week, he works alone and does a side a day...I am anxious for the painting to begin as the color of the house is changing from a gold color to a blue with a lot go grey in it, I actually forget the name of as I gave the paint chips to the painter last fall. It is a Benjamin Moore color. I am very anxious to see it on the house.
The weather here has been pretty amazing the past 2 days...in the 70's..Today was a great walk with my DF..we got 4 miles in!!! Dinner will be tarragon turkey cutlets , corn on the cobb and a salad. I am on call tonight, hoping for a quiet night as I am working tomorrow and have 2 big cases.
Thinking of jeremysgirl and hoping she has some restorative time off from social media.

taylortroop . Colonoscopies are not as bad as some people make them out to be. Ask for the easiest prep and that’s not hard it just one of the liquids that you really want as cold as possible. Other than that, it’s twilight sedation and not a big deal at all.

It's one and done and when you stop drinking you stop going (unless they want you to take Dulcolax first- Ill never do that again!). I have only ever had to drink one glass past half of the jug. I set up a tv tray in the bathroom, with my phone, kindle, puzzle books, real books. I mark a cup at the 8 oz mark and I pour in the drink to that line. I use a straw, put it as far back in my mouth as I can, suck down as much as I can while holding my nose, then take a swig of vernors while still holding my nose. Take a few breaths and down the rest. Repeat 10 minutes later and so on. Def dont leave the bathroom! Yes, it is icky to be peeing out your rear, but it isnt painful, just annoying. For the procedure, take a nap, then go out for pancakes!

taylortroop, you could very well get the 16 oz prep and that's much easier. You can ask for pills, too. They're big and you have to take a lot of them, but I tolerate those more than the liquid. The prep is very easy for some people. littlemama gave you great advice. As for the procedure, piece o' cake. You won't feel a thing. The only discomfort will be from the IV poke. I am so used to those I don't even flinch. They'll give you light sedation and you'll snooze lightly. It takes 15 minutes and then you wake up quickly and easily. littlemama said it best, take a good nap and then have your dh take you out for pancakes. Don't worry about it. Oh, a good thing is that after you prep you'll feel 10 lbs lighter. The Birdhouse Lady, I'm echoing your post. I've had a migraine this week and we're in the middle of project palooza. Take care of yourself first. Dh is going to do the flooring in our entire house, but he's gonna start w/the living room. He's already done two rooms. I love the idea of you painting your fireplace. Putting your creative touches on it will make your home warm and cozy. karenlou, we're in the same house.

Ok who was the biggest drama QUEEN about getting a colonoscopy. I used Pico Salax and it was so easy. Pooped twice. No running. No drama. I drank bone broth during the day and it was easier than my last mammoultrasound. This is the easy way.

taylortroop I'm a frequent flier (over 10) for colonoscopies. The SuPrep for me was the easiest to down. I didn't gag with it. I also took anti-nausea meds prescribed by my doctor since I've had problems in the past. But SuPrep works great. Chill it, drink with a straw to bypass the taste buds and if needed mix with a little crystal lite. For broth go to a pho place and just order broth. Very clear very satisfying. Follow all the diet instructions. It's not bad at all. The actual procedure you are under sedation so it's a breeze. Make sure to drink all the liquid recommended and you won't be dehydrated. Also keep some Vaseline in your bathroom to keep things comfy and it won't be uncomfortable. So much better than chemo is my mantra and what keeps me coming back. scrapmaven I'm sorry you have to rent with all the work involved. Cheers to jeremysgirl for taking good care of herself. Today was a cup of noodles as I was having stomach pain.
