Good morning.
Well, we're a house well bagged. Today the cats are going on their first ever road trip. I'm guessing they'll be hiding for the next two days. Poor kitties.
We have a couple things left to do to ready the house and then they inspect the house before we leave. Dh and I are looking fwd to Saturday when this is past history. It wouldn't be a big deal if there wasn't a big project in process at the same time. We're gonna go mil's house ready for a dear friend who will be staying there for a while.
Dinner will be takeout pho'.
What's on your menu?
What is everyone up to today?
Wishing everyone a happy, easy day ahead! Here kitty kitty...

When we moved years ago with a cat, we couldn't find her for at least day in the new house. It will all be over before you know it! I have errands and lots of packing to do. Looks like the weather is much warmer than we anticipated so we're back to the drawing board. Dinner will be Sloppy Joe's.

I have been at afterschool care today, making cards for Mother's Day. The other carers have helped the children make a present already. One of my colleagues asked if I could come in next Friday to cover for her - she has a wedding in Greece to attend on the weekend, so they want to get uot early, especially as school is finishing up for a 2 week break Friday. When I arrived home, I had a letter from the Radiology clinic I was referred to - my appointment with them is on May 29th, so at least I now have some certainty on that. As the 30th is another holiday here, and the doctor told me to come back 2 full working day after the scan, I have penciled in June 4th for that.
DH is stuck at Amsterdam airport. His flight was due to leave at 3:45pm, it is now almost 7:15 and they are still on the ground. I was going to wait and eat dinner with him, but I don't think I'll be able to hang out that long. I am going to make Okonomiyaki again, as I have almost a whole cabbage in the fridge that needs to be eaten. It also means I can make the batter, shred all the veggies and just cook my portion, and leave the rest to cook fresh for DH when he gets here.
Tomorrow is a public holiday here - one of 4 this May! - so I am looking forward to resting and getting some craft in.

Happy Wednesday!
My reporting at work is done so today is a light day thankfully. I get to switch into social writing which uses a different part of my brain so it's a nice change.
Dinner will likely be chicken piccata or something similar.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good Afternoon! Saturday will be here before you know it scrapmaven. I finally made it this morning to get a pedicure. Now if I could only wear cute sandals. I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot and I am really struggling. I am sitting here looking out the dining room widow and I just saw our first hummingbird! I find hummingbirds fascinating. I am going to take it easy today. Stay off my feet. It is a gorgeous day right now but storms are supposed to roll in again this afternoon. Dinner will be meatloaf.

I made spaghetti with meat sauce. Neither of the 2 at home made dinner... So I made what I wanted and didn't care what they wanted! Not sure for dinner tonight. SO dropped off his truck to get the AC fixed and is using my car. DD dropped me off at work and someone will need to pick me up. Same for tomorrow, they are going to need another day to fix an issue they found in the AC. stormsts - SO uses one of the plantar fasciitis braces and he finds that they really help. He had PF a long time ago and used that for a few weeks and it was all better. It just came back again so he has been using it again. After one night he says it feels so much better. scrapmaven - I drove 2 cats across the country, twice. They did really well! But I do imagine yours will hide for a bit, in the WTH just happened phase.

DH is stuck at Amsterdam airport. A good friend of mine is flying there today. She is at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport and they are offering people $600 to take a later flight. We'll be flying from Seattle to Amsterdam on Saturday and arriving in Bergen, Norway on Mother's Day.

Good vibes for flyers today and in next few days. My son was delayed 3 hours yesterday and I ended up with a 2 am pickup! We fly out Friday for my daughter's graduation so hoping that goes smoothly! I am exhausted so spending so time mindlessly scrolling until my brain wakes up and I can tackle my todo list! Take care all!

Just home from the city. Got groceries and did a bulk food store run for some nuts and other fun stuff.
Thanks for the responses yesterday with regards to my upcoming colonoscopy. I haven’t heard yet about the appt so I don’t know what the prep meds will be.
Going for a walk tonight with my bestie. We walked all winter in my neighbour because we live in town with streetlights. We will start walking at her house tonight for the summer because it stays light longer. She lives in the country with no sidewalks or street lights.
I’m so excited to go to grandboy #3 Mothers Day Tea at his daycare on Friday. My DIL will attend the tea with the middle grandboy at his school.
Supper is grilled chicken, macaroni salad, potato salad and Xaesar salad.

I am back!!! dinner to night is out to dinner with all my kids!!!
my dd is going through the massive stack of clothes that no longer fit.. she is taking many of them!!
we had a lovely afternoon memorial gathering.. about 25 people came.. including the relatives I had never met. people had a real good time and not too much food was left from the (deli catering trays). my photo albums were really a big hit!! I spent 4 hours going through mil's closet and have 8 kitchen bags to bring home.. many quilted vests/jackets, etc. and a designer quilted jacket with real feathers sewn on it.. my dh's aunt said it is worth big bucks. famous quilter now dead.
the kids got what they want and we will have to hire moving company to take it to sf. we took 8 giant contractor bags of clothes for donations. I made a big dump run, drove home in only 13.5 hours yesterday. dd is flying back to nz tonight.
I am going to go back north in 1.5 weeks..and help my sister in law with her old family pictures finally. and take my sister to appts. we are about to cancel our cruise.. dh is having surgery the day after and he is worried about covid and I think he is carrying too much emotional weight right now.
so life moves on. sad about the house being sold, but dh won't budge about it.

Happy Wednesday! Just back from having a facial and doing a Central Market run (which is conveniently on the way home from the salon). Think after a year of trying I have found a facialist I can work with on an ongoing basis. Super humid here today. I need to get out and tend my garden, as well as repot 3 new indoor plants I picked up at the nursery on Sat. Until it cools off enough I'll be inside doing some laundry and sewing. The indoor season is upon us! Dinner will be the roasted chicken and veggies I picked up at CM today. I finally made it this morning to get a pedicure. Now if I could only wear cute sandals. I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot and I am really struggling. About 25 years ago I had severe PF in both feet - at once. My advice is to google the stretches for PF and then do them religiously. That brace should help, especially if you wear it to bed. As for cute sandals and PF, I have a couple of brand recommendations. The shoe that saved me during the worst was the Mephisto 'Helen'. The style is still a staple in my shoe wardrobe. It comes in so many colors/leathers/prints. They have quite a few other styles if you don't like those. The other sandal brand I have success with is Vionic. My preferences are the Brea and Kirra toe posts styles. The Tide II and Tide Aloe are what I wear as my house shoes. We have hardwood floors and barefoot is a no-no, so I live in those around the house.

It's another hot day here in Texas. I hope I can handle this better when it gets hotter in the summer. It will be my first summer here and I've heard it is much worst then now. I had made plans to go for a walk but that didn't happen. Stayed indoors and worked on my planner and did some coloring.
For dinner I made a layered salad.

Tonight, I am making mushroom swiss burgers (no buns) ceasar salad, and red grapes. I found some really great firm grapes at the market this morning.
Yesterday was a wash for me between the headache and neck ache. I am feeling much better today and am ready to tackle my to-do list.
The weather is gloomy today, but things are greening up. Can't wait to be able to plant flowers.
I am anxiously waiting for my quilt kit to show up. It was supposed to have been here yesterday. As of today, it is at least in the state. Maybe tomorrow. I am going to have Saturday to myself and I would like to get going on it. It is a quilt along and I am already 8 days behind.
That reminds me, does anyone know if jeremysgirl ever got her sewing machine foot?

DS requested mac & cheese for dinner. We've had the buffalo chicken mac & cheese so many times this year, so this time he said he just wanted a normal M&C, but with bacon and pepperoni in it.
DSO has been sick since last weekend. We are pretty sure it is RSV or a similar viral infection, but of course he hasn't bothered to go to the doctor. A lot of teachers and students at the school where he works are off with it too. He has been working every day then coming home and going straight to bed. The school sent him home at 11am yesterday (Wednesday), and he has been in bed ever since - it's now 8:15am Thursday. I've been sleeping in the spare room since the weekend.

Thanks scrappert . Off to check the shoes out **GypsyGirl**. We have hardwood floors as well and I have to wear shoes at all times. I have plantar fasciitis that flares up. For sandals I can wear Birkenstocks, fit flops and not super high block heels for dressy occasions. As far as other shoes I might be the only one on the planet that Vionics do not help. Are you waiting to see a podiatrist? I just went a few ago. Mine moved into a sports group. They even have their own shoe store on sight. Plus he now does his own inserts rather than sending them out and they were half the price. Still $400. But they fit in any non sandal shoe almost. I’m getting excited for your trip cadoodlebug. Packing is the hardest part. ntsf the clean out is the worst. Your dh must want it all to be over. Solo for dinner. Had tortilla crusted tilapia with cucumber salad and a twice baked potato.

I was supposed to teach grade 9 Humanities at a girls school today ... they ended up reassigning me to a grade 4/5 class (still all girls thankfully) ... ummmm, I don't teach elementary school! I guess I do today! It was fine ... the girls tried to manipulate me a few times but I saw through them like I do with the older ones! I'm sitting here trying to decide what to have for dinner ... soup of some sort I think ...

That used to be my favourite age group - I mainly taught 5/6 in Australia, but had 3/4 for a couple of years. I loved that they are old enough to be independent, but still young enough to know they need the teacher.
