I have SO...MUCH...STUFF... I have done 4 Crop & Create Delivered card events. I have done 3 Crop & Create Delivered Holiday events. I have done 1 Crop & Create Scrapbooking event. I have done 2 PinkFresh Studios card events. I have also done Stamp Joy, Celebrations (SCT), Let's Stamp Together, and am signed up for the Weekender next week. I've done pretty well at storing all the classes - each class has it's own envelope and is labeled with the company and the event. Each event is in it's own basket. I've saved all the classes available on my YouTube account, so I can view them at any time. So, my scrap room is overflowing. It's taking me a LOT longer to find something I KNOW I have. I'm getting to the mindset of "I don't need anything else." Yet that didn't stop me from signing up for the fall C&CD card event. I'm just venting. I've got to figure out a way to use what I've got, and stop buying more STUFF. I do enjoy all the anticipation of the card events (although the Weekender is turning out not so good). Yet, I realistically know that I've got too much and need to stop buying. My creativity is taking a hit with being overwhelmed with what I have and trying to choose something to work on. Yet, on the other hand, I feel I need to support these companies so they don't go out of business! Thanks for listening to me vent. Feel free to let us know what's bugging YOU today.

I can relate. I have so much stuff but keep buying mostly on sale or if I find "good' stuff at thrift shops or garage sales but that still adds to my overwhelming collection. I also just signed up for the embossing folder class at Online Card Classes. I am hoping that will get me to use some supplies I already have without buying anything new but idk. I am really more of a collector of goods than a user of goods.

MDscrapaholic I can relate. I have done the classes for almost all the Crop and Creates that I signed up for, but I still have all the stamps and dies and a lot of them are just not ones that I reach for. I purged some of them this spring. Of course I buy a lot of other stuff thanks to the enabling of Peas and YouTube. FOMO is a problem for me. I am annoyed that things go out of stock so quickly. Rather than waiting and thinking long and hard about if I would actually use something, I just add to cart.

I feel the same way! I even did a good sized purge of stamps & dies last year and donated to my local senior center (they were happy to take them!). BUT I just had to buy a small bookcase for my room because TOO MUCH STUFF!!! I have several new stamps & dies I haven't even had the chance to play with yet there are a couple of new releases I have been contemplating.
I've also done several of the same events as you and while I enjoy them I am getting overwhelmed with the volume of supplies that come with them!

I can absolutely relate. My spending is out of control and I am out of room for storing all this stuff. I have a two drawer lateral file cabinet and the bottom drawer is all completely filled with the old bulky red, yellow and green sizzix dies. I haven't used them in probably 20 years. I'm pretty sure I'm going to throw them in a box and dump them at the Goodwill next week. I just need the room for other stuff. I wish I knew someone in OC who wanted some older stamp stuff, I'd absolutely box it up and drop it off to someone local. The thought of trying to sell/ ship this stuff is just so not worth the effort. I have 2 vents for today....one, I am going to start on a bathroom renovation this weekend so my crafting is going to be on hold for a bit and two, I need to call a washing machine repair person to see if my washer can be saved. It's a 15 yr old Kenmore washer that I LOVE with zero fancy electronics. I'm afraid they will say it's doomed and that I need to get a new one. It's not the money to get a new one, it's that I HATE all the electronics and lid lock on todays machines.

I hear ya. I'm in the same boat as you. It's just too much stuff and no creativity.
I've done all the C&C card events (six!), two of Jenn Shurkus' virtual Creative Journey Art Retreats, one of Jenn's virtual Crop on the Capes, and I've purchased several de-stash boxes.
I did a big de-stash and I was ruthless in my choice of stuff to re-home. I sold a lot at a scrapbook yard sale and on Mercari. I priced my stuff to sell, not to recoup the costs. Since the beginning of the year, I made a pact with myself and haven't bought anything new except consumables (paper and adhesive) and a few items that I didn't have something similar to.
I'll keep doing the C&C card events, because while not all sets are my style, it's a good variety and value. Same with Jenn's events when it fits my schedule. I like her card style and her teaching style.
Hang in there. Maybe try to not buy anything except consumables for one month. And try doing a de-stash. For me, getting rid of stuff was like a weight lifted.
ETA: One other thing for destashing...I looked at every stamp/die/stencil, really looked at it, and put a sticky note with a card design on it. And kept those. If I couldn't think of a way to use it or who would like a card with those motifs and sentiments, it was in the "to go" box.

I will admit I'm an event junkie. I love events. I love the anticipation of the box, the homework, the new products, but I have so much stuff. It's pretty well organized, but my irritation is that I always want to create with something new instead of reusing something I own. I really need to get over that because I have 100s of perfectly good items that don't get touched because I've used it already. So stupid. I will say that I do try to create something every day. I spend a lot of time in my craft room. I just need to use what I have instead of always feeling like I need something new. I can never say no to a new Pinkfresh release.

I feel the same way. I have so much stuff but love all the events (and I also have FOMO). The events helps me create and I love learning all the new techniques. But there's just so much stuff leftover that I don't use again.
Honestly, I just wish I had the time to use all the stuff I've accumulated. Before I buy something, I really need to ask, will I have time to use this??
I get so many ideas from all these card making events and only end up making 1 card from it. I want to actually use my products instead of always going to the next event or next release.
But then I try not to be so hard on myself because it's my hobby and it's supposed to be fun. No use in stressing over it.

This is one reason why I don’t do card making events. I already have more stamps/dies/stencils/embossing folders then I need, I don’t need another box full of things that I might only use one or two items from.
What’s bugging me today is I’m kind of sorry I agreed to going out tonight with friends. It’s cold and rainy and I really just want to curl up on the sofa and do nothing.

Lots of things are bugging me today, but mostly not having a job and all the waiting that job search involves. Combined with my DH spending all weekend on his big art project in his maker space and I'm just a sort of ball of lonely and anxious or something like that.
I spent about a year doing a LOT of events. I learned techniques. I got a lot of stuff. I learned which techniques I enjoy. I learned more about my style. I have a hard time donating stuff I paid so much for, but I'm having moderate success selling on FB. I found a second hand arts & crafts supply store which helps. Damn, it's all kind of connected, isn't it?
No wonder I feel so damn bugged.

I STRONGLY believe that card making/scrapbooking is a completely separate hobby from collecting crafting stuff!
My dd put her dad and I on a very strict budget for the year so we can pay off our debt. We are actually on track to pay it off 2 months sooner than expected. I'm so grateful for her and she has been adamant that I keep crafting but not buying LOL. I'm rubbish with saving and thanks to her we will be debt free with an emergency fund. I've also learned to buy discriminately and really only buy it if I can think of 3 ways to use it.
My vent: I wish I had more energy to craft but this year has been a rough year with my disability/disease, I'm not sure why and I hope it's temporary. I still don't sleep and food is gross which is why I have no energy but I'm working on it and I need to give myself a break. I'm doing the best I can. Also, my mom passed a year ago and although this is my 2nd mother's day without her it feels like the first and I really miss her.

That's great about your debt situation, your dd sounds like a really smart girl, and so smart of you to listen to her! Hopefully you're just in a flare up of your disability/disease and things will improve. You do absolutely have to give yourself a break - pressure doesn't help when it comes to health. I'm sorry about your mother, hopefully you have happy memories you can scrapbook about her this Mother's Day.

I’m sorry for your frustrations. This cements my feeling that I’m not missing out by ignoring these classes and events. I can totally see the fun of it, of course, but in the long run I would be really struggling with having so much extra stuff that I didn’t choose. I don’t have the space or the brain to manage much more than what I have.
My vent is a small one - most of the black cardstock I have is too thin. When I tried out my new sentiment dies today the cardstock got all bent up as I was trying to get the pieces out. Why don’t I remember that to buy and use the good stuff?

I have enough cardstock for card bases and enough card fronts to last me a long time. I also bought a box of 12 rolls of ATG tape a while ago. The only time I buy (nowadays) is when FOMO gets me! I passed on the PinkFresh Foil event, even though I wanted to try it to use my new BetterPress. If they reopen registration, I may jump on it!

You get your box, you do the homework, you block off a day or two to do nothing but make cards, you get "in the mood" to do this, you're excited, you rush to keep up with the instructor and everyone else... After the event, to use those event card instructions, you gotta find the video, figure out what the homework for that instructor is, decide which one of the three cards you wanna make.......... Maybe this is where I need to change my thought processes. I find it had to get excited about something I've already done (unless I REALLY LOVE that card).

Wishing you success with your job search, Shakti . I'm feeling a lot of the comments on here. I've been dealing with so much stress lately that I just let my craft room go. It was so pretty before, and it won't take long to make it pretty again, but I just have no motivation to pick up anything and put it away, so I don't enjoy going in there right now. I have so much stuff because I've been signing up for so many events these past 4 years, too - and I definitely suffer from FOMO. I've also added a few new crafts that I really don't have time for, but I need that sweet, sweet dopamine hit that novelty brings. I am so impulsive and I really need to work on that. So, that's bugging me right now. This. I feel this, too. NO MOTIVATION. Even next week's Weekender event has me feeling BLAH. I have a new BetterPress and only played with it once. The whole episode of trying to get one that wasn't broken just about did me in. I have not even opened or used all the press plates I bought to go with it. And guess what my "cure" for that is - buy more stuff! LOL. I gotta stop that.

It was cold and rainy here last night too. I hope you did have a good time! I actually did. It was a local community theater show with a really nice dessert bar after the show. Now I’m off to the theater again today to see a Off-Broadway production of Little Women then dinner with the girls.
