I’m sorry for your frustrations. This cements my feeling that I’m not missing out by ignoring these classes and events. I can totally see the fun of it, of course, but in the long run I would be really struggling with having so much extra stuff that I didn’t choose. I don’t have the space or the brain to manage much more than what I have. My vent is a small one - most of the black cardstock I have is too thin. When I tried out my new sentiment dies today the cardstock got all bent up as I was trying to get the pieces out. Why don’t I remember that to buy and use the good stuff? I bought some thin black cardstock, too. It's really flimsy. Did you try gluing/taping two sheets together and die-cutting with that? I'm using mine mainly to frame the card front. Just a little black edge around it and it doesn't make it bulky, adds a lot of depth. I used a rectangular die to cut a lot of them at one time, and have them in a stack on my desk.

I can relate. I have so much stuff but keep buying mostly on sale or if I find "good' stuff at thrift shops or garage sales but that still adds to my overwhelming collection. I also just signed up for the embossing folder class at Online Card Classes. I am hoping that will get me to use some supplies I already have without buying anything new but idk. I am really more of a collector of goods than a user of goods.I think this is me, too. I am tempted to try the embossing folder class. Not sure if I would have the stamina to do them after a full day of work. If they get good reviews after, I might purchase it then! I know full well that I will NOT be doing these classes at the end of the day if I am fortunate enough to be re-employed. My best bet is to do them one day late first thing in the morning before work. And even while I'm unemployed, my usual MO is to craft for about an hour very first thing to feed my soul and then turn my attention to job search, and that's an argument for using the one day delay then, too.

Lots of things are bugging me today, but mostly not having a job and all the waiting that job search involves. Combined with my DH spending all weekend on his big art project in his maker space and I'm just a sort of ball of lonely and anxious or something like that. I spent about a year doing a LOT of events. I learned techniques. I got a lot of stuff. I learned which techniques I enjoy. I learned more about my style. I have a hard time donating stuff I paid so much for, but I'm having moderate success selling on FB. I found a second hand arts & crafts supply store which helps. It's on the same transit line as the job I'm hoping to hear good news from ANY SECOND now. Damn, it's all kind of connected, isn't it? No wonder I feel so damn bugged. How did you find that? I would LOVE to find one of those around here! Are you selling your stuff there, or buying? Sending you good vibes that you will be hired soon! I think that in the decluttering thread someone talked about donating to such a place in their area. I had been resisting donating to something like Goodwill, feeling it was really unlikely most things would really get to someone who would know what to do with them and figuring they were likely to end up in the trash. So I googled for someplace like that near me. The one I found is in the city and not very convenient to me. It took me five months or so after I started a email dialog of what they would accept to get a box there. I left DH live-parked in front of a driveway a couple doors down, so I didn't really take much time to look around. They accept donations and sell them. As far as I am aware, no compensation or even tax deduction accrues to me. Maybe someday, if I actually sell and donate everything I hope to, I'll consider actually shopping there. Thank you!

It’s the perfect weight for a layer behind a card panel. I just need to remember that and stop trying to die cut with it! At least for sentiments. I’m sure I have thicker stuff that I think is too nice to actually use, lol. And I know I have black scraps from old notebook covers that are a great weight. Just have to remember to use them!

kkrenn , my mom has been gone 10 years next week and I still miss her. Sometimes more than others. But I am definitely going to make her a Mother's day card tomorrow. Even if it has nowhere to go. I might do this too! Hope you did. I made my card yesterday. I really like it. Sometimes I do it for her birthday too. The people that kept my cards forever were my parents. When each of my parents passed I inherited the package of cards I had made them over the years. Some were so old they were ugly. You know, when there was not all the good stuff there is available now.

I feel the same way! I even did a good sized purge of stamps & dies last year and donated to my local senior center (they were happy to take them!). BUT I just had to buy a small bookcase for my room because TOO MUCH STUFF!!! I have several new stamps & dies I haven't even had the chance to play with yet there are a couple of new releases I have been contemplating. I've also done several of the same events as you and while I enjoy them I am getting overwhelmed with the volume of supplies that come with them! I should look into this! Did they specifically ask for them, or did you just donate? Did you know someone there? Our city-run Senior Center had held a couple of crops so I had the program director's email. I sent her an email asking if they would want some gently used stamps & dies and she was very enthusiastic about accepting them! I just put them in a couple of gallon sized ziploc bags & dropped them off to her. They have arts & crafts programs there all the time (including card-making classes, Cricut classes, etc) so I thought they might be able to use them. If you call, just ask for the program director and I'm sure they would love to have any donations!

What's bugging me today is that I am not making granola. Making granola has been on my to-do list since yesterday. I have no earthly idea WHY I am not making granola. But here I sit, not making granola!

We have a standard recipe we use. My mom got it somewhere, made a couple changes. We started making and tweaking it ourselves. Finally, last year or maybe the year before, we settled on a particular variation. We now call it "Taylor's Version" because we came up with it while all those re-releases were happening. EtA: Thanks, azcrafty . You're a genius... the granola is in the oven!

My vent would be I don’t have the time, nor the funds to attend an in person crop. I would love too. I miss going to them so much. I will be attending the Honeybee Stamps card class coming up this weekend, which makes me happy.
