Good morning or afternoon or night,lol....I am looking to begin scrapbooking ALL the tons of old and I mean OLD family photos of our family.....some go back as far as 100 years, of all our family members...many are in black and white, many are in color......I am looking at very simple tasteful pages, with the pictures telling the stories.....I am thinking of using mainly white, off white or black solid cardstock paper ....but.....I would like to add maybe some subtle colors in greys/blacks/creams/golds and maybe a bit of pink/tans/blues......my colors will basically come from my embellishments and such. I am leaning toward these colors as they are my favs.....NOW.....direct me to what YOU feel are the best paper lines in working on very old/vintage/antique type scrapbooking of such pages. This will most likely be a year long or more project for me. I thank you for any help you have to offer.

The first two that come to mind are Anna Griffin and Graphic 45, in terms of designs. You might have to look at older collections to find the colors you’re interested in.

Anything 49 & Market. Don’t be afraid to use some color too!

I like neutral pattern papers (tans, creams) with pops of colors (embellishments) for vintage/older photos especially if they are black and white. So, I don't have a specific manufacturer I prefer. I USED to, but all of them are no longer in business.

I would suggest using kraft CS or another neutral/cream/ivory as a background, especially if the photos look aged. Also works nicely for black & white photos. I second the 49 & Market suggestion. They have several recent lines that have a vintage look to them.

She has done more scrapbooking collections in the past couple of years. Her collections include high quality card stock and coordinating solid matte foil and metallic cardstock, borders and embellishment. She also sells 12 inch border dies and frames in graduated sizes. She just held her annual 3 day Crop at Home scrapbooking event and she is offering the materials a la carte on her website. She also came out an all inclusive Simple Scrapbooking series that includes a ring-bound album and all the supplies you need to complete an album. You can buy her products on her website (annagriffin.com) as well as HSN. I am a big fan (as you probably guessed).

I am planning on doing something similar this year and bought a ton of 49 and market and Mintay (especially love their 6/8 paper pads for layering) as well as simple stories vintage collections. Also bought a few old dictionaries to pull pages from and an old Atlas. Mintay 6x8Mintay Grandma atticMintay Frames
