I can't find my MISTI !!! Seriously, how does one lose something of that size - it's not a small object!? I just wanted to make a simple card...card front is done, now I want to stamp a sentiment for it, and maybe do a whole page of various card sentiments to have on hand...apparently I will have to stamp the old fashioned way (gah! heaven forbid)...a first-world problem for sure. I haven't had the stamping platform for very long and have only used it a handful of times so far, so it doesn't yet have it's own spot yet in my room. Also add in that my scrap room has acquired a few odds and ends from MIL's craft stash that she chose not to keep when moving to a smaller place a couple of weeks ago, and those are not fully integrated into their own storage places yet...it's kind of a mess (but a fun mess nonetheless). Plus I have multiple layers of scraps from recent projects laying on my desk... gee wonder why I can't find anything!?What's the messiest your scrap room/area has been? And what could you not find in it?

Any chance you moved it out of the room? I also sometimes have a stack of something and things get mixed in it.

My DS (10) uses my desk quite often and leaves his crap on my table. I tried giving him his own table, but he kept using mine and I gave up. So any urge to scrap I must first excavate my desk from his glue gun, cardboard, drawings, pencils, markers, whatever stuff of mine he used, a random rock, pieces of Lego, and who knows what else...
I don't have a permanent space for my paper cutter so it just gets moved out of the way when I'm not using it, and I "lose it" all the time. It could be on my chair, on top of my Iris containers, on top of my scrap bin, on the floor, or under something... I might have thought about getting it it's own air tag so I can just page the stupid thing...

Shimelle lost her stamp tool for months when she moved and I think only found it when she realized it was upside down in some stack or box and she didn’t recognize it face down. Hopefully that’s what’s happened with yours too. Probably tucked inside something, slipped behind something, or upside down. Hope you find it soon!
I find that when I go looking for lost things they usually are where my brain thinks they are, the place I look first or several times over. They just don’t look like I remember them because they’re inside a bag or I’ve forgotten what color they are.

I lose things all the time, and often it is a SHARP thing, like Xacto knife or scissors, or piercing tool. I find that when I go looking for lost things they usually are where my brain thinks they are, the place I look first or several times over. They just don’t look like I remember them because they’re inside a bag or I’ve forgotten what color they are. This, totally! But I usually have to stop actively looking and kinda sneak up on the item I need... My dgs has his own desk in his bedroom upstairs where my tools and supplies often migrate to, so when I can't find something I go look there. Liberated a pair of scissors and a set of markers today...

Mine was always messiest after a visit from my grandchildren. They loved punching out hundreds of circles from my scraps.

Under a stack of paper.
The other day I was die cutting and than needed some paper so I put a stack of paperpads on my desk to flip thru. When I found what I needed moved the paper back. Then I could not find my cutting plate for 30 minutes so I started using my bigger plates.Than for some reason I looked it the paper stack for more papers and there it was! Stuck to the bottom of the paperpad somehow. I lose stuff all the time thats why I have 10 pairs of scissors, 4 reverse tweezers and 6 pokie tools. I hate to stop and look for tools when I create. 🤣

My scrap room is so messy that I no longer allow my husband to look in it, lol. It's super embarrassing. I've had some major crafting sessions that i never got to cleaning up from, then a load of stress and work and just haven't had the time or energy to tackle it. Hoping to take the next few weeks to put everything back in its place.
It's also so messy that I've dragged supplies to my kitchen table to work there, instead.

Update: I did eventually find my MISTI - it was on a small bookshelf sitting upright but partially covered by a binder, so I didn't see it when I looked there. Still took lots of searching in all the places it *wasn't* LOL. And then later I accidentally dropped the entire box of [thankfully closed] jars of 24 Perfect Pearls...I now have 23 jars...the other one rolled away...somewhere. Probably under my little side desk where I can't reach it. I have hardwood floors so everything that drops either breaks, sticks between the slats (paper punch pieces & tiny paper scraps I'm looking at you!), or rolls away.
But I seriously do need to clean & re-organize my scrap room. The stack of scraps on my desk alone has um...layers? If I search through the layers I have a layer for all of the seasons, holidays, & various scrapping projects going back farther than I want to admit. Next weekend...
And yes, the reason I have 2 corner rounders is because one was living in DD2's room for so long when she was a teen that I just bought another one because I thought it was lost. Older DD had like 5 rolls of tape in her room when she moved out...

I lose items on my desk constantly. Usually it is something that I have just had in my hand. I have a habit of putting my paper trimmer on the floor, standing it up against my desk or chair. And then when I need to trim things I will move it into my work surface. So many times stickers, etc. get stuck to the bottom of my trimmer. I am not a neat scrapper and when I start to lose things on my desk I know I need to take a break and clean things up.

I beat you all. We just moved. The *last things* that went were all my desktop/items, loosely put into a box and brought over "as is".
Somehow, in the act of picking it up off one desk and transferring it here, I have lost both my glitter art GLUE and my yellow SB.com dot adhesive.
Just wasted an hour looking. A.R.G.H.
**ETA: turns out, it was DD who took both to make a card just before we moved, and then packed it into her stuff because I had packed mine up. That was so frustrating...an itch I couldn't scratch... what a relief!

I left it out purposely so that I could figure out the spacing. I'll find it in 10 years when strip journaling is no longer cool or the day the replacement arrives in the mail. Murphy's Law!

I lose stuff in the middle of crafting when my desk is so messy. A die cut here, adhesive eraser there. A stamp, the bone folder. It's always something.

My room is not that messy, but spent 3 hours looking for stamps that I lay out for a baby card. I clean up after every project. I pick them up not realizing them and put them where I store packages of butterfly’s. I hate it when I lose something I can’t relax till I find it. I thought our dog ran off with them, which she has done before.

Well, I’ve lost a 99% completed layout! I put it to the side until I was able to verify the date the photo was taken, and when I went back to finish it, it was gone. 🤦🏼♀️ It’s not got mixed in with other LOs, because before and after I made it, I was doing cards. And I have literally looked everywhere that something 12” square could be!

I cropped this weekend out of the house and now I am faced with putting all the stuff I took with my away. Dear Lord, how did I take so much stuff with me and it looks like I took nothing out of my scraproom...and now I have to find homes for it all again lol. Plus it's just so messy in here. Sigh. Maybe go watch Bridgerton...

Maybe go watch Bridgerton... kmage - that is me every time I go away to a crop LOL Good luck! (And Bridgerton Season 3 (the first half) is good!) I will say that one of my best recent storage inspirations came about due to a freak accidental spill that happened while I was putting stuff away from a weekend crop. An entire container of 4x6 journaling cards and CS for photo matting spilled all over the floor because the Velcro handle on the storage/carrier case didn't hold. So I decided I needed to take that container out of circulation altogether and use something entirely different that I had sitting around (originally bought for another purpose). I had a DUH moment and realized I didn't need to store them 4x6...they fit in a nice clear fridge-bin style container if I stored them "upright" 6x4. The new longer, narrower container fits better on the designated shelf, is clear (yay!) not covered like the old one (which served as storage and carrier), and since it's narrower the whole thing sits in such a way that everything is much easier to see and access.

Well, right now my scrap room is a different kind of mess. But it's such a mess that I can't even work in there. Eek! Our whole house is a hot mess of old house problems waiting their turn, but there's only one room that actually cannot be used right now, and you guessed it--it's the room that is slated to be my office/scrap room. So for now my desk is sharing space in a study where the kids' desk is also located. And most of my crafting items are packed away. At this point, I might be able to get a kid to move out and take over their room faster than I'll get my room done! But before we moved, my scrap area was always a mess and I was losing things all of the time. It drove me batty!
