My little quilting group have decided to go on a quilting cruise to Alaska, but it's more than a year away - August of 2025.
We've decided to go with Stitchin' Heaven. They do their quilting cruises with Royal Caribbean. We haven't signed up yet as one of the ladies sent an email with a question the other day and is waiting to hear back, but we will likely sign up this week.
None of us has ever done a cruise before, so this entire thing will be a whole new adventure, and I'm super excited. None of the husbands are coming.
If anyone has any tips, suggestions or info on quilting cruises, I'd love to hear them.

No cruises here but colour me green with envy.
Spent last weekend away at a quilting retreat and had a fabulous time a cruise would be the ultimate. Next year won’t take long to get here the way time is flying by.

I did the Stitchin' Heaven in early February. Everything is looked after for you as you will never change/fill a bobbin or thread the machine.
A really fun group to be with.
The tote bag is beautiful and there are other things that you will be getting.
PM me if you have any other questions. I live in Ontario.

How fun. My DH is not a cruiser and this might be a fun way to actually take a cruise. Looks like a great mix of port visits and sewing time.

I don’t quilt but there’s been some scrapbooking cruises that I’ve seen. So when you go on these craft cruises, what do you bring with you and what is supplied?

I don’t quilt but there’s been some scrapbooking cruises that I’ve seen. So when you go on these craft cruises, what do you bring with you and what is supplied? I have been on a couple of quilt cruises with different tour operators. The cruises that I have been on have been more expensive than what you would pay if you were not part of this specific group because you have to pay for the use of the conference room, machine rental, cost of the teachers and more. Also, in this instance, you must book everything with the tour group and not the cruise line. But, you get what you pay for. Just like any other type of class, what you bring is whatever you are told to bring. There is the usual personal kit of hand sewing needles, pins, scissors, rotary cutter, ruler etc. There are usually specified classes/projects. I tend to choose on the teacher, not necessarily the cruise destination. It is nice that you have a set place for dinner with your group and that there is a lot of open sewing time. This past cruise I didn't get off the ship at all. Part was due to the terrible weather. I was almost ready to go on shore and then they were evacuating the private island as the weather was getting bad and it was unsafe to be on the island. You can go to all of the shows and the casino and all of the other stuff.

I haven't, and I don't quilt, but I'm currently on a Royal Caribbean cruise and I know there is a quilting group onboard. I was thinking of paying them a visit just to see how it's going.

We saw info about this cruise ( Stitchin Heaven in 2025) at a quilt show earlier this year-- sounds good but I'm not going. My sister and a friend are thinking of going, not sure what they've decided. If you go, please post as I'd love to hear all about it.

For me, going on a cruise (done once) is like a dream... I don't want to be missing all the activities doing my craft. If I was a cruiser, then I would be all in, but I would hate to miss anything! Anyways, I hope you have fun!!

If you do, let me know what you think! Thanks! I went into the conference area where the conference was being held. There were several classes scheduled and it looked like most people had come with a friend, and the machines were rented from the company holding the conference. It looked like everyone was enjoying themselves.
