Has Anyone Gone on a Quilting Cruise?

I did the Stitchin' Heaven in early February.  Everything is looked after for you as you will never change/fill a bobbin or thread the machine.  

A really fun group to be with.

The tote bag is beautiful and there are other things that you will be getting.

I have been on a couple of quilt cruises with different tour operators.    The cruises that I have been on have been more expensive than what you would pay if you were not part of this specific group because you have to pay for the use of the conference room, machine rental, cost of the teachers and more.

Also, in this instance, you must book everything with the tour group and not the cruise line. But, you get what you pay for.

Just like any other type of class, what you bring is whatever you are told to bring.  There is the usual personal kit of hand sewing needles, pins, scissors, rotary cutter, ruler etc.

There are usually specified classes/projects.  I tend to choose on the teacher, not necessarily the cruise destination.

It is nice that you have a set place for dinner with your group and that there is a lot of open sewing time.  This past cruise I didn't get off the ship at all.  Part was due to the terrible weather.  I was almost ready to go on shore and then they were evacuating the private island as the weather was getting bad and it was unsafe to be on the island.  

You can go to all of the shows and the casino and all of the other stuff.  

For me, going on a cruise (done once) is like a dream... I don't want to be missing all the activities doing my craft. If I was a cruiser, then I would be all in, but I would hate to miss anything!
