I want to do a memorial page for my dad. He died at the age of 96 and had an amazing life. My dog is getting very old... I scraped him a lot when he was younger. I need to do an intensive photoshoot with him now. I heed to finish Hawaii .. It was three years ago!

Great ideas!
I want to do memories of elem. school (went to 3 different schools even though we never moved. Bussing was the reason. It would be unthinkable now, but I started kindergarten in one school, then because of bussing had to go to a different school right in the middle of the school year. Then went to that school through 4th grade, then they made us go to another school.) I ended up loving each school, and the only hard move was the new school for 5th grade. I got good at making new friends!
Also want to do middle school, high school, college and law school.
Our house in Michigan and PA. All about the kids lives and what we love to do as a family.

I love this!
1) My twin sister donated a kidney to our aunt. It was my aunt's 4th kidney, all from family members 2) My trip to England last year. My sister & I went with our mom & a friend for our 30th birthday--and it was also our first plane ride! I made a photo book through Shutterfly, but that is just photos and doesn't include journaling. 3) I want to start a family history scrapbook. My mom worked on genealogy at one point for her family, and I have a small tree for my dad's, and we just got the DNA testing done on both sides of the family through ancestry.com. I'd like to have one place to gather all that information so it's easy to find 4) The city I live in. I've lived here since I was 2, but we are seriously working towards becoming financially stable enough to move. That's going to take another couple of years, but in the meantime I would like to document everything important to me in this area so I have it recorded in case I never come back to the area once we leave. 5) I'd really like to scrapbook about my Titanic collection. It's been a part of my life for so long, I've gone to exhibits & museums for the Titanic, andI even have a tattoo, and I'd like to get that all written down

Love this thread and some great ideas here ! Love the idea of 'Things I want to tell you ' album. I have only 3 big projects I would like to complete: - Family heritage photobook - my mom and aunts have done all the groundwork, I just need to put it together - Our 2012 trip to Tanzania - Week in the Life for 2013, my first attempt and would like to add to it every year.

1. I'd like to document "the home place" - my paternal grandfather's home that was built in 1827 and has been in our family for about 90 years now.
2. A cousins album - I have many cousins on both paternal and maternal sides and was raised knowing them. I have been surprised to meet people who don't know their cousins. Mine were an integral part of my growing up years.
3. The cats I've fostered. I have pictures of all of them and notes. Maybe this isn't an important story but I'd still be interested in looking back on them all and I have such cute pictures.
4. All the different places I've lived. I came across a complete list recently. My dad (who died in 2009) must have told me the places because my mom doesn't have his recall for addresses. We were a Navy family and moved frequently. (Another take on this and probably a separate layout is that I have four brothers and we were all born in different states .)
5. I'd like to do some layouts and stories of family resemblances. Like, my brother has a strong resemblance to my great-grandfather on my father's side. I resemble my mother but I favor her sister Carol even more.
Tracie, I was G-Girl on Two Peas but you know me as Lisa Browning, or libro55.

This is an awesome thread! I want to do a weight loss journey, but...well, I have to lose the weight first! ETA: I didn't realize this was an older thread, imagine my surprise at finding I had posted on it! I would like to add that I want to do a book about me, favorites, personality, how I deal with my myriad of health issues. I also want to finish my wedding album (married 28 years this year) and a Halloween album.

1. definitely would love to scrapbook about my job, I have been a Childcare Provider for about 29 years now. 2. how I was a foster child and met my family many years later and all that each of us 4 siblings have been through. 3. what my faith means to me. 4. need to scrapbook about the place I live, what I love about the small village we live in. 5. and definitely would like to have an all about me page every year and where my life is at each time.
great question!

Another thing...and this is going to be a mini album: Christmas ornaments and where they came from (the discussion above about depression glass reminded me of this). We usually got a new ornament or two in our stockings at Christmas. And my grandmother crocheted a lot of bells that have been divvyed up among the grandchildren. I want to document where special ornaments came from for those who will get these items one day.

I want to document my son's recovery but I am having a difficult time "going there". In order to get to where he is today, I have to scrap through the bad times and I just can't bring myself to go there yet.

This is a topic that gets you thinking. I do have projects I want to do - but down to the stories, I have to think about them. Here goes.
1. My Dad's WWII experiences (He helped build pontoon bridges in front of the front lines & had a lot of close calls.) 2. My early school years in a town that had to completely move because of an error in calculating the water depth of a nearby dam. 3. What music means to me (I play four instruments.) 4. My faith. (It helps give me balance in life, strength and comfort.) 5. My international family. (Three of my kids married people from other countries.)

You all have really got me thinking. I am in the process of doing a book of my dad's passing but it's turned in to his life. I have so many books to finish from school books to the birth books of my 3. Book of our animals they are all getting older. My friend from school passed last year and doing a mini of her. but, the reason i am thinking of her she left alot of journaling for her son and it was so fun to see. I want to do that have a book of me take pics of my hands and journal the me. The stories of my love of my husband we have been together 32 years. Oh Scrapping booking....

Y'all have given me so many ideas my head is spinning! I love the idea of telling the story of Christmas ornaments! I have several family ornaments and I would love to document them! One album that I have been working on is family treasures. I have many dishes, furniture, bits and bobs that have been passed down in our family and I have been taking photos of them and scrapping about what I know about them and who they came from. I figure that will help DS decide what to keep or pitch when DH and I pass on.

You all have so many good ideas to "borrow"! 1. Complete some more pages in my ancestry book. I need to do some more research, but have sort of come to a standstill there. But I have more photos that I need to add. 2. Re-do my son's baby book with more journaling this time. His old sb is in a book that I bought at a Hallmark store and the pages have turned yellow. 3. Try to tell the story (ies) of how alcohol has affected our family thru the years. This will be a hard one to face, but I think it needs to be written down somewhere. 4. Maybe a "bucket list" for myself. Maybe just a 2-page l/o about the places I'd like to visit (if I win the lottery) or some things I'd like to get done before I sign off. 5. And, like some of you, make a few l/o's about the things that I'm grateful for and love about the people around me. Great question to get us thinking Tracie! Maria

I really want to get my most important stories documented this year. At the top of my list are: 1. all the jobs I've had, including my current one 2. the story of us - how I met my cutie-pie husband 3. the story of deciding I wanted a baby after almost 10 years of marriage and not EVER wanting kids 4. why I scrapbook, how I got into it, how it has changed me - was inspired to do that by zoeybug's post on here sharing Ali Edwards' hashtag, #scrapbookingmatters 5. a day in our life right now Your turn! GO! These are all such great lists!! I'm SO inspired by everyone!! Tracie- yesterday I had the privledge to listen to Scrapgals podcast about MOJO--this certainly is an inspiring topic and one to get things going again!! I've done those wedding/ birth stories (2 out of 3), that sort of thing...so my list is more of a TO DO list: I have to finish my son's high school album- maybe for his birthday- he will be 22 this year...3 years isn't too late is it?The two layouts I have not done- are my Grandmother and her son (My Uncle's) passing. THey died the same day 20 minutes apart..she was 91 and when he heard she died (He was mentally handicapped and 62) he fell over like a tree and passed away...I think when Grandma got to talk to Jesus- she asked that her boy go with her- so he would never have to miss her. that was 2010... I also love the idea of going back in completed albums-- not to redo as many of you have they are what they are...but to document more stories. I think so pretty tags slipped behind a picture here and there would be great- or document between all my sticker sneezes....LOL Love this post!! you all are inspiring!!

You gals blow me away, so many of you have such important stories to tell. I'm not a "storyteller" type scrapbooker, but I admire those that are.
I found a gold mine of photos and ephemera from my teen years recently and it would be a great injustice for me not to do anything with them. 1. My scrapbooking origin story. I found a photo of the Christmas where my aunt gave me a scrapbooking kit, she didn't scrapbook, I didn't scrapbook but she got it for me and so I used it and here I am today, over 10 years later. 2. Teen ephemera. I have useless junk which is now a priceless treasure! I kept receipts and movie tickets, all kinds of stuff from my obsession with both Twister and The X-Files. I have tickets/flyers from school dances (plus photos once we get to the high school years). 3. Things I like now: video games, movies, TV shows ect. 4. My cars over the years, although I don't think I have photos of my VW Jetta but I do have the dealer license plate (which I will re-scrap) so, that will have to do. 5. My Disneyland trips as a kid.

1. All the jobs I've had (from grocery store clerk to DJ, to newscaster, to ad exec, to clerical too!) 2. Famous people I’ve met 3. Concerts I have gone to 4. The places I’ve been (more of a list since it is so long!) 5. Favorites (right now) Movies, books, colors, styles, etc. 6. Cars I’ve owned (LOVE cars!) 7. All the places I’ve lived (that's a long list too!) 8. Collections I have! (so, should each get a page? I collect antique wedding cake toppers...which is funny since I never married, but have been engaged a few times!....antique plates with pink roses on them, antique linens, Old postcards, which was a hobby I did with my late father, oh, the list seems to go on and on.)

Due to some recent big changes and health scares I've been thinking more and more about story focused scrapping. I'm glad I remembered this thread because now I have so many ideas. My list so far:
1. Choosing the adventure of living out of the country or finally going back to my home state after many years 2. The objects I always carry with me in my purse, what they mean and how they've changed over the years 3.deep budget cuts and what they have meant for my education and the education of my students
Thanks again for the topic! Did anyone get their stories on paper? Any new members want to weigh in?

What a great idea for a thread. This is good to think about...
Well, broadly, I would like to finally finish my son's first little album, collecting the best-of for his first few years, and do more journalling in it. I'd also like to get my wedding photos (on film) scanned digitally so I can adjust them and print them; the color is way, way off for them so they need serious processing and better quality printing than what I initially got.
But stories? That's an awesome question.
I really need to get the confidence to put myself in my books. Being the youngest in my family I am pretty much the afterthought so there's not a lot documented. I guess I want to reclaim that and define my story for myself. I also want to do a private-ish scrapbook that addresses some of the not-so-beautiful moments of my life.

Now that I think of it, I could write about being the first born (I.e. Guinea pig )

Great thread, glad it was bumped! There are many idea here R that I will use, especially @elaynef!
My main goal is to scrapbook our infertility journey and premature loss of our son. But like @thekatsmeow, I'm not ready even though it's been almost 5 years. It's funny, I know how well I am doing in my day to day life, but the action of putting it on paper makes me realize how deep the hurt runs.

Hmmm 5 I really need to do more but here are 5.
1. My time in Iraq; how it changed me 2. How significant it was to be the first female to join the service, the first officer, and the first to go to college in any line of my family (beyond associates) 3. 2 page list of All about me right now at (list style) 4. How being an Army brat has shaped me, my views and everything else in life 5. Pre Marriage to hubby (college romance)

I had to think about this a while too! 1. A you right now layout for each of my kids...the journalling is done but I need to pull it all together 2. Pivotal moment in my life layout. About 9 years ago I lost a significant amount of weight and have kept it off and looking back I can see that it was such an important moment just deciding that I wanted to change that I want to record that. 3. My mom and our relationship 4. Stories about my oldest son who starts Grade 12 this year (!) 5. Story about our family roots in relation to my Grandma's cabin at the lake. She passed away this past December and so much of her is still around when we're there

I have often wondered about military kids and what they think about moving all the time. And being in Iraq must have been quite an experience.

I want to scrap my journey to running my first half marathon and how I need to get back in shape and start running again. I ran the Disney Princess half marathon this year with a friend and it was a pretty emotional experience for me. I'm not very athletic at all and not in shape at all now. Anyway, I do want to tell the story. Thanks for this post TracieClaiborne. Might be the kick in the pants I need.

hmmm... I generally don't do that sort of SB layout...
1) I haven't yet scrapped the story about my having braces and jaw surgery-- it was a lot tougher of a thing to go through than I ever thought it would be.
2) my Grandma kept a journal even before she married my Grandpa; she went to the Chicago World's Fair in 1933 and kept very detailed notes about what they did and saw. She also was a photographer... I'd like to maybe do some heritage layouts that utilize some of her journaling and photographs.
3) I've never done any 'heartfelt' SB layouts about either of my parents...
4) I've never scrapped any pictures of our first dog, who passed away very unexpectedly when she was 5 yrs old.
-- Again, this sort of 'emotional' layout is just not what I'm comfortable doing, so there's tons of other layouts I would rather do before tackling any of these ideas.
