I really want to get my most important stories documented this year.
At the top of my list are:
1. all the jobs I've had, including my current one
2. the story of us - how I met my cutie-pie husband
3. the story of deciding I wanted a baby after almost 10 years of marriage and not EVER wanting kids
4. why I scrapbook, how I got into it, how it has changed me - was inspired to do that by zoeybug's post on here sharing Ali Edwards' hashtag, #scrapbookingmatters
5. a day in our life right now
Your turn! GO!

Your post is perfect timing! I just purchased the Big Picture's Life Lists PL cards and a BH 6x8 album. I'm going to do an "All About Me" book this summer. I'm really doing it for my girls to read. It will be full of silly, trivial info but the important things are:
1. The story of my brother breaking his neck and how is has changed my life.
2. How challenging it was to be the first person in my immediate family to attend College.
3. All the states I've lived in and the pros and cons.
4. Why I chose to be a SAHM.
5. The 35 year friendship I've had with a friend of mine and how it's impacted my life.
They're kinda heavy and serious but I'd like to document these stories for my kids to read.

Fantastic thread!!!
My stories are:
1. My new beginning (I overcame a lot this year)
2. An all about me. Fave color, movies, things in life, places. Just a whole long list about myself.
3. How I began scrapping.
I'll have to think of more....

Fantastic thread!!! My stories are: 1. My new beginning (I overcame a lot this year) I am in the midst of a New Beginning. It's really emotional but it's great that I have scrapbooking as not only a creative outlet but sort of as personal therapy too. Some other things I want to scrapbook are: 1. My car - my first big purchase by myself! 2. Finally filling out college applications and not putting anything off as I had in the past because for various reasons...I'm 30 3. How turning 30 has been is the final step to my 'new beginning'. 4. Moving 5. Why I scrapbook and why I love it so much ....I'm sure there are more that I am forgetting. 4.

So many stories to tell... A few projects I need to finish documenting/scrapping:
I want to scrap the photos of my husband and I before we got married
I want to do layouts of each of my grandparents and my dad from babyhood to the last photo they ever had taken - basically a 2 page spread of each of them with details of their lives.
I want to finish my sons' baby albums. I am redoing and reorganizing those books and am almost done so that their babyhoods will be documented in scrapbooks.
I want to finish my books of my teen years - the photos are in Pl type pages but no documenting, embellies or anything to tell the story.
I want to finish my Air Force album. At one time it was done and then I decided to redo it and now it is all taken apart.

I have 2 sons with autism. I would love to devote an entire scrapbook to their struggles and triumphs.
I have a couple of unfinished projects that I would like to complete.
1. I started to re-do my son's baby books. I need to finish them both.
2. I want to complete our vacation album from 2012.

Great question!
1. I'd like to do layouts about each of our girls' names.. how we chose their names and why and the story of their naming.
2. DD4's birth. I still haven't done any layouts about her birth, and she's over 8 months old now.
3. My graduate school career. Why I went back to school, what I accomplished. It's a complicated story though, and I'm afraid it will just come across as a whiny novella of woe.
4. I'd like to start a sort of family history book. Nothing really too involved... just some basic facts about our recently deceased family members. I thought of it last summer when my uncle died of a sudden heart attack, and thought it would be nice to have an album that is a family record.
5. ?

Some of mine are in progress
1. Every Place I have ever lived - It is my Home Sweet Home album - using Google Street View for places I do not have photos
2. Go back through my older layouts and add journaling - I did not journal much at first - even if I have to add it to the back of the page like Frank Garcia (Prima designer) does.
3. Bio pages for every family member and - in progress - need to complete
These are pretty major so I think I will keep it to three for this year - as there are only 6 months left.

1. We struggled with infertility and I scrapped that but not about how it feels to finally be a mamma 2. A book about me for my girls 3. A layout about my aunt who passed this last year 4. Why my daughter insists on referring to her grandma as grandma with the iPad instead of by name 5. Not sure yet...

1. Mini scrapbook about my Mother's life. I have the album, papers, etc. There are few pictures of her and I need to get this done!
2. Complete the album of my tenth grandbaby and what a joy she is to our family. She is ten months old and her album just needs a few finishing touches.
3. Finish album of my great grandson...parents are waiting...and bringing more and more beautiful pictures.
4. A mini of a week with my 5-year-old granddaughter. She is a non-stop, high energy, outgoing little girl who loves creating and meeting new people. Whew! She makes me smile and wears me out at the same time.
5. Mini of the pictures of our flowers and trees my daughter and I have taken the past few years.
Now I'm inspired and ready to scrap. Thanks to you, Tracie!

I have some projects that are started but not finished: -travel summary mini-book: in this project, I want it to reflect 1-2 pics from a lot of different trips that I have taken over the years. I have books that are totally devoted to specific trips, but thought it would be fun to have one that reflects the overall "Places I Have Been". -milestone birthday book: I started this last year when I celebrated a milestone birthday and just need to complete it -fabric book: This is not about fabric, but is a project made all out of fabric. I want to finish it and then put all my pretty pins and broaches on the fabric pages instead of in my jewelry box
And then I have a couple things to start: -Paris/Giverny from the trip I just took. Pics are printed but that is about it! -back to school, as I start back in Aug and want to chronical the journey. Although I may be too busy being in school to actually capture anything else!

Oh so many! But here's a few:
1. A mini-book about my dad's love of baseball. I've been after him for years to start writing the stories of his life, and he finally did. I want to put what he wrote with the very few pics I have, using an old-fashioned baseball digtial kit, and print it as a photobook. 2. Another photobook of the trip my father and I took to Germany/France last year to attend the dedication of a memorial to his uncle (and crew) who crashed into Nazi Germany near the end of the war. 3. A layout about how I feel about becoming an grandma. 4. The layout about my grandmother's death (really, for both my grandmothers). 5. A layout about my brother-in-law, and some of the good things he did (he committed suicide this past May, but I don't want to focus on that.)

Going back to school is something I want to document too. Mine is complicated and something I've wanted to do for a long time now but always put it off for one reason or another. Even if it comes off as a whiny novella of woe (love that. lol) you should still document it because it is part of your life. And you should even include that in the layout/scrapbook about it about your hesitation to record it. I'd also LOVE to do a family scrapbook. There are so many family stories/memories I would love to tell.

Wow, these are amazing!
I'm hyper focused on DS's baby album right now because while going through the pages (they aren't yet in an album, but in those plastic iris cases until I can organize them into an order), I realized I'm missing some key stories that I don't want to forget to do or forget the details.
1. My pregnancy with him
2. A page about the early weeks, the change that had taken place in our life with him now in it. A very day-to-day kind of page. I was great about taking some detail shots of things… stacks of freshly washed burp cloths, him doing tummy time among all of our folded laundry… stuff like that. I just need to actually DO IT.
3. His nursery and how we chose to do what we did with it, some of the details, etc.
I actually have a list with some more, but these are the ones I know off the top of my head I want to be sure to get in there.

I don't have any at this time, but I have a 8x8 album that I call "Things I want to tell you and things I think about. I have several stories in it and add to it when I think of something I want my family to know. I have a thank you to dh, a message to my daughters, a page about how much I love being a granny, with pictures of each grandchild with me, a page about how I decided to become a nurse and how how I feel about it, a page about my favorite grandparents, one about my relationship with my mother, one about my dad,and one about my sister, one about being "born again", one about a lady who was a friend of the family, about my grandfather living with us,the friends who arranged our 1st date, and some of my favorite pics of me. (Rare)

1. The relationship between my husband and I. Of course I have scrapped pictures, but I haven't really told the story. 2. The time with my fiance before he passed away. I still haven't been able to scrap those pictures even almost 20 years later. 3. My job. It is such a big part of my life, and yet I've never scrapped a single page about it. 4. Dealing with anxiety. 5. The upcoming birth of my great niece. I don't have children of my own. For me this is much like having my first grandchild.

Wow, your lists are a lot deeper than mine. Mine is really a to do list:
Here is it, in no particular order =>
Family Heritage Album (started but not complete) I don't have children to pass this on to, but someday my niece and nephew may be interested.
The site seeing part of business trips that I took in a previous job (Berlin, Tokyo, Beijing, Sao Paulo, BR and Puebla, MX)
Alaskan Cruise from 2009
Alaskan Cruise from 2014
Mediterranean Cruise from 2013 (half-way complete, yay!)
Numerous day trips and hikes

1. I want to scrap my children's birth stories. The day that they were born. They all have something unique and special I want to tell them about their birth.
2. My sons dad passed away a year ago. I want to scrapbook the photos I have of him his mom gave me some baby pictures and some great soccer photos of him.
Those are the biggies for this year. I have three children so those will keep me busy. Good challenge!

Interesting question. 1.My Mum's struggle with dementia. This is going to be a difficult one as it also includes the fact that my sister left my younger sister and I to deal with it and now refuses to speak to us and is lucky to visit my mum once or twice a year. I'm trying to document the positives - how close my younger sister and I have become, but I also think it's important to document the truth about the rift in our family. 2. Another difficult one - my brother committed suicide when he was 25 and I want to write about how this impacted the lives of our family. I also want to record all our childhood stories and memories about him. 3. On a lighter note- my career. I'm a teacher and have been lucky enough to teach in such a variety of jobs and I really need to document the highlights and reasons I teach. 4.I have never documented the story of how my husband and I met and how we finally got together. 5.I've decided to start sewing again and would love to make a few layouts about how I started sewing 30 years ago. I still have some of the outfits I made for myself in a suitcase out in the shed, so I should start by photgraphing them. (on a dressmakers dummy - unfortunately I don't have a lot of photos of me wearing them and even more unfortunately I am no longer a size 10!) Maybe by making this list it will remind me to get them done this year. Corinne

Great question!
1. My grandsons were born after their grandfather died. I want to do a scrapbook so that they will feel as if they knew him -- including his childhood, school years, family he grew up in, our wedding, his hobbies, etc.) I would like to include interviews with his brothers and other family members so that other viewpoints besides mine are represented.
2. The homes I've lived in -- what they looked like inside and out, important milestones while living there, etc.
3. My 30 years in the teaching profession -- colleagues, students, sponsorships, special events, special relationships, how schools changed during that time, etc.
4. Family memorabilia -- I want to document where the items (everything from Depression glass to lamps to rings to my grandfather's fiddle) came from, what family member originally owned them, and special memories associated with them.
5. The story of how I went from being a retired teacher to a family-run business owner -- the reason my new career came about, how it has changed me for the better, the fun activities and events my family has shared through the business, how my grandparents and their small-town hardware store influenced my business model, and how the business has grown and evolved over the past 10 years into something we never imagined.

I love depression glass too Debbie! I have a small collection. Addictive, isn't it! The thing is, I need to make sure I document which ones were my grandmother's (as opposed to the ones I've purchased at flea markets). I know which is which, and have them displayed in different places...but I can see how everything could get all mixed up when they get passed on to the next generation!

I've been thinking about this ever since you started the thread! I couldn't come up with anything at first, but after a week of mulling it over, I am going to document/scrap
1. A layout for each of my 3 best friends - how & when we met, how our relationship has evolved over the years, what's special about it, etc. 2. A layout about my son surfing in Hawaii last year. We (STUPIDLY) did not get any photos, so originally I wasn't going to do anything about it, but it was awesome watching him, so I'm going to figure out a way to do a just journaling layout. 3. A layout about the many things I am blessed with/grateful for. I pray every nite, but years from now I want to remember what was important to me at this time in my life. Many, many years from now, I'm hoping it will give my grandchildren insight into my life. 4. A layout about this transitional time in my life. My boys are both teens, so our family dynamic & my role w/in it are shifting a little. Probably not noticeable to anyone else, but it is to me. I want to document it in some way.
I just realized most of them don't involve photos. Gotta lotta journaling in my future!
