My embossing folders share one of the taller Ikea "Alex" drawers (I probably have between 20-30 folders) with my various Platinum6 plates. It's getting to the point that I'm going to have to figure out something else as the drawer is getting full.
How do you have your embossing folders stored, and is it working for the quantity you have? I have sizes from 4.25x5.5 up to 5.5x8.5 which makes them a bit tricky compared to if they were all the same size.
Thanks a bunch for any ideas (and photos if it makes sense) you can share!

Mine go behind a row of stamps/dies in the same clear bin.

I have always stored by embossing folders loose in a bin. They were gathered all together, making it awkward, as you say, with all the different sizes. Not to mention some have stencils, but most don't.
I recently started sort of chucking everything together, sorting only by size and brand. So the big Spellbinders embossing folders are with the big stamp and die sets and the little ones are with the littler ones. I'm sort of mid-process, but I think I might like it.

I keep them in my wood box where some of my dies goes. Its wide enough to have 2 of the a2 sized ones next to each other. Than the 6x6 and bigger goes in a other slot.
The ones that come with Altenews coordinating products they stay together in my Altenew box.

My wide embossing folders & paper pads are stored in these boxes because they are not tapered and are 6” wide from top to bottom. (I don’t use the lids) This box is sitting in a long 2 drawer lateral file cabinet. My narrow/2D old school embossing folders are in their own container. Target shoe boxes

I store mine in two large clear plastic shoe boxes, without the lid. They are stored upright (with a few on one side), and I can flip through them quickly. I am to the point where I have to really love an embossing folder to buy anymore. I have so many that it’s hard to find ones that I like that are different enough from what I have to justify buying any more.

I only have eight and none of them have coordinating products, but I just keep them as a divider between my dies and sentiment stamps, all upright in a box. The biggest one is about 6x6 which only just fits, and it annoys me that they're all totally different sizes. But at least they don't need to go into envelopes or anything to keep them safe.
Standing upright is always my preference for flip-through-ability, and they are right next to my desk and I can flip through one handed (as I just did to count them to answer this question!)
I used to have them in the same spot inside a photo organizer box but I would forget about them, and the box wasn't doing anything anyway. And of course the big one never fit in there so it was just loose behind the box.

Thank you friends. Sounds like it's pretty universally a store them upright in a bin type of thing. I guess I was hoping there was some magical embossing folder sorter thing that I hadn't yet heard of pinklady, thanks for the link to the Sterlite bin that measures 6 1/8" on the inside. They would also come in handy for 6x6 and 6x8 paper pads too.

Mine are in a bin like this Plastic storage bin. Each one is in a clear plastic sleeve, A2 in the front and larger ones behind, with an embossed sample. Makes it easy to flip through and see exactly what each one looks like without having to take it out of the bin.

I meant to take a picture of mine. Back in the day you could buy a large zippered portfolio that had four pockets per "page". They were designed for the original non-3D folders but I make it work with my 3D ones by tucking the back half in the pocket and leaving the front out. The pockets aren't big enough for the new wider embossing folders, though.
This thread has me thinking that I should put my folders in a bin instead. Or maybe I will just leave them as is.

I store mine in a small basket that I aready had at home. But I want to throw in that if the folder is themed, like Halloween or dog, I throw those in with those supplies or else I might forget I have them when I pull those items out.

I store mine in a pretty greeting card organizer box. I think the largest embossing folder I have is 5x7.

Mine are in a plastic box with a lid stack on top of each other, so ever time I want to use one I have to take part of them out of the box to find the one I want. The basket idea might be better for me.

I'm doing a major scraproom reorganization right now, and I ended up putting my embossing folders in a Totally Tiffany bag in a drawer. I used to have them in a bin. The bag is super handy, it turns out, because I can just grab the handle and pull the bag out and put it on my desk and flip through the embossing folders. The bin I had the folders in was harder to grab and move from my drawer, so I had to stand over it to flip through. I prefer pulling it to my desk to do that - a little thing, but convenient.
I got a few of the Totally Tiffany bags/tool boxes for my birthday and I have to say I'm really pleased with them so far.
